I could ask the same about you.

But still, military at 14 could be good. As mentioned before in the thread, it'd get all those whiney call of duty kids off the streets and doing actual combat.

What. You can f*ck at 0, but you can't hear someone say the word f*ck without parental consent until 16?

Yeah because call of duty is exactly like being out in the battlefield.

Going to the military at such a young age is stupid. The pre frontal cortex isn't yet fully developed at that point and that means that 14 year olds in actual combat might take inappropriate decisions with negative effects on their squad.

Also the person that said sex at age 0, that's f*cked up.

How about a government issued ID data card.
Everybody has to be tested for every thing.
If passed, then the ID is endorsed to allow <whatever>.

No blanket age limits. The person must be healthy, genetic, and mentally sound for <whatever>.
Want to drink alcohol "swip the card" to be served.
Want to drive "swipe the card & press the thumb" on the panel.
Et cetera... :)

This is the least arbitrary suggestion here and although I agree with the idea, it would be a bureaucratic nightmare and extremely difficult to implement. Besides Mr weasel, aren't you generally opposed to big bad government? An I.D. card sounds sinister in that respect, which is another reason to not want it in practice.

Still, most reasonable post in this topic.

Just list random age restricted items/actions then bash the number keys with your fist and your post will fit right in.

We already have the Educational system administering tests.
We already have the Motor Vehicle Department administering tests.
We already have the Health system administering tests.
We already have the other governmental departments administering tests, and Identification and skill credentials:
Passports, Firarms, Explosives, Pilots, Mariners, Medical Professionals, Legal Professionals, Casino workers, et cetera.
Just need the Federal Bureau of Identification to consolidate the information on to a chip that can be updated frequently.

Big Brother is already with us, and only a few even notice. The wheel of time turns, and we come closer to the Greek defined Tyrant.

I hate the fact that you have to be 17 or 18 years old to purchase an M/18+ related game when there's a chance that's it's a 7 year old's parent a buying the game for them. Games don't make people violent. They choose to be violent.

Also, this doesn't upset me but it's funny: in the U.S.A, you can be a pornography actor/actress by 18 years of age. But you have to be 21 years of age to drink alcoholic beverages. So you can get unwanted kids and sicknesses/diseases by 18, but you have to be older to drink a certain drink.

wtf Lol. Don't have an issue with it because I do not want to be in the porn business or drink alcoholic beverages but seriously wtf.

I really have no problems the way currently is, but If I were to make a list it'd be something like this.

Job - 14

Driving - 16

Gambling - 17

Drinking/smoking - 18

Voting - 19

Marriage - 19

Kids - 21

I say 18 for everything.  Kids start driving too young, and are already adults for 3 years before they can drink (and held responsible as adults for their decisions as well as allowed to kill/die for your country).  18 should be everything.  Of course, this is from an American point of view.

Seriously?  Obama?  Give me a f*cking break. It sounds like your concept of "Big Brother" is measured in "administering tests"... that just crazy.  I guess my doctor is a tyrant by your definition.
