I try not to care, but if I get killed a few times and I see it drop, I feel like I need to kill someone, or a lot of people, quickly. That's usually when I'll break out the heavy sniper.

But I really wish they didn't show that stat on your player card, cause then I wouldn't see it all the time and I'd be less inclined to care at all. Having to keep up your KDR in GTAO is a burden. It's gotten to the point where if someone kills me I have to chase them down and kill them three times to get even

i wouldnt give you a hoot in hell about the KDR

Since that thing called auto aim is in the game......it dont say much about your skill..maybe a little about getting the drop on someone but thats about it

I'm obsessed about it so much that when someone looks like they obviously are heading over to my location to murder me, I leave the session or just whenever I some how end up in a firefight lol.

There is a reason why it is displayed so prominently when you bring up your profile. Anyone who gets all defensive and tries to dismiss it outright is most likely garbage at GTAO.0_0.jpg

Game is inherently flawed, not very accurate measure of skill however some useful information can be learned from it. Excessively high means cheater/exploiter, likely sucks at fair combat, very low probably sucks as well. Anything over 1 is decent, probably knows how to handle themselves. Much over 3 means usually tank/jet/invincible glitch/passive mode/suicide abuser or picks on noobs, wall hacks likely.

Well I kill people that get in my way that livens things up. Going after hpvs will almost always ensure a good player vs player battle as well. Car bombing tactics come into play. Running around killing with no objective is boring imo.

Dont they make games like that? Like cod... Why would you not want to make it interesting? I get a huge adrenaline rush being chased down by 2 or 3 other players as im speeding along with the hpv trying to make a buck. Much more fun than standing outside lsc or eclipse towers in a firefight.

I dont even know & to me as long as it stays above 1.0 then im fine. K/D is a joke in this game for various reasons such as auto aim, tanks, rooftop snipping, bulletproof car killing, killing AFC players and etc. its not really hard to cheaply boost it & i think people care so much because a high one symbolizes that a player is very well skilled but this Grand Theft Auto that we are talking about LOL.

Like him, I don't play the game for this reason.  I never play deathmatches and I'm pretty suicidal in terms of free roam fights.  To me, strapping C4's to a Regina and running into you is amusing.  I like to be highly unpredictable as a player.

KD should only be relevant in a FPS game, but to each his own, I guess.

I don't.  I care about my racing wins to losses ratio instead. :)

I have thrown so many races to crew mates so that they could unlock car mods that my racing win / loss record is meaningless.

nope OP I dont give a damn about it. It's nice to know how well you are doing but that's about it. It's a stat but not one I ever actively think about raising. It's a game ruiner for a game like GTA IMHO.

To me keeping a high k/d by abusing tanks and jets and other stuff in the game is part of the fun and makes free roam not boring.

Does it really mean anything? No its just an extra thing to work for same as weapon tints etc adds some length to the game.

Yes and No.  It's not something over which I obsess, but it's nice to follow during those sessions when a huge firefight breaks out amongst an entire server and I want to know how I did.

The only people who care about KDR in a 3rd person assisted-aim game are COD kiddos or Big-KDR-Big-Penus morons.

My kd is 2.24something, but only because i always kill back the guy who killed me, atleast twice.

Just because.

A few posters in this thread say KDR means nothing to them, yet they are displaying the figure in their signature. It's kind of a instant contradiction. Makes me laugh.

Being a friendly player in free roam, my K/D is much lower than I'd like it to be, but it doesn't really matter anyway.

I do only because its the only thing I keep track of my character now since I've passed level 120 and have all the money in the world (figuratively of course).

Edit: Like to clarify that most of my kills come from people who brought it to themselves.

I used to give a sh1t but not anymore...my Kills are reading 11,500 for the last 4 days.....meanwhile my DEATH stats have increased, so Rockstar is registering my Deaths but not my Kills.....that's fukced up man. I take pride in my ability to kill more than die, I just wish the stats were credible.

I used to be ranked 2nd in the world at MW2 before it got hacked (kills) and 238th in MW3 (for domination), but I got bored.

KD ratio didn't matter to me then and it doesn't matter to me now.

It does not prove you're a better player in any way whatsoever.

I used to body bag players with 11+ KDR and they used to disconnect from the internet so it wasn't affected...

Kinda lost respect for KDR knowing the dirty ways people play to keep it high (in GTAO too)

I never really cared in the first place. I have a really bad k/d from my lower level days (both deathmatch & free roam). Plus I'm not a very good gamer but I still enjoy playing

I got greifed alot early on in auto-aim/bad sport lobby. Now i play (lvl30smthn and up)free-aim with a1.22. I dont really care unless like someone else said a free mode lobby breaks out then I want to see how I stack up to others. In dm I kinda care if I go below 1.50 but thats just my low standard nature.

some what. makes trolls less likely to mess with you cause they would get owned. + other players who check the KDR in a lobby would take you more serious if yours is high.

I literally couldn't care less. Mine's probably right around 1:1....no clue.

I can't believe that there are people who join a lobby then go and check other people's stats.

It's only relevant to me after a well balanced death match which is very rare. In general KDR too easy to manipulate like most stats in this game to be a true measure of "skill".
