However Heist feature will play like, also don't forget there's Cash Card aside.

So don't get your hopes high.

IMO, this is the problem with GTAO. R* push their Cash Cards in the faces of the players as much as possible, going as far as altering the game when the community finds a way to make money. They've lowered job payouts drastically, they've changed the procedures for higher-paying jobs to make them longer and more difficult, and all of this comes after R* guaranteed us that they wouldn't emphasize the microtransactions in GTAO. What a joke. The game made over $100 million in its first week; I'd like to think they've milked enough money to warrant not forcing Cash Cards on us.

And, on top of that, we still don't have arguably the game's most attractive feature that was supposed to have been in at launch. GTAO had a lot of potential, but I don't believe it will ever be fulfilled.

Couldn't agree more but the DLC's are free to those that choose to grind missions all night and day but those that don't have the money, they buy CC.

I felt so pressured to buy CC when they lowered payouts, but I haven't.

Yep, new cities and landscape to reign havoc and destruction and to explore new areas are most likely the only way GTA Online can survive. Missions in the same place are already becoming a problem. Every inch of the land has already been used.

You see it with any mmo or rpg. The creators release new maps and the playercount skyrockets. After a year this goes down again. I believe we will see a new map every year/two years after release on new generation consoles.

Starting with Northern San Andreas OR Liberty City.
Both would be an epic addition to online.

No

I hope you're right, but we'll just have to wait and see. I do think it is  realistic that they add more cities such as Las Venturas or even a return to Liberty City, since it uses the same graphics engine and they only need to remaster it.

Oh for the love of pink adorable fluffeh rabid meth addicted giggling bunnies.  No more Liberty City, it's so overplayed and stagnant. It has what four games that take place there? Why return?

I agree with you there, R* finally made a gta number game that didn't take place in New York...I mean liberty city lol.

But I do think it'd be nice for gta online. Not that hard to do either.

Would like LV and SF more of course. But I wouldn't say no to LC.

With LC being added new mission from a few gta 4 characters could be added as well. I'd like that.

would be nice if both PVP heists, and SP style heists came out, like mentioned above, it would add variety and keep people playing for longer.

I think once PS4 and XB1 get GTAO then 360 and PS3 will be neglected, they wont be able to handle the casino, animals online, and all the other DLC Rockstar and planning - this is my guess.

I'll be honest. If  heists is going  to be PvP. I'll try it like once and more than likely never touch it again

Exactly this for me too.

I'm actually waiting (high hopes?) for mission creator. Thats when imo gtao could really take off.

Please somebody show me where and when rockstar said they would be in the game from the beginning. Exactly, THEY DIDN'T. I am so tired of seeing people saying this just to have something to bitch about.

To be fair, the trailer implies that heists would be available at launch, or at least soon afterwards.

Their launch trailer claimed that heists would be a co-op feature that player can enjoy with friends or crews. They put emphasize on it and implied that it would be released at, or near launch. In the video, which I can't find for you cuz im at work, did not say that "heists are a feature that will take 10 months to release, or may be released with next Gen versions". Its misleading

I think Farmville will out live any online game Rockstar can produce.

Gta online is just gonna end up like IV and RDR. (although I like RDR) because they fail at online. Nothing to see here, the only history they're gonna make of this is controversy. Always trying to be so ambitious but slip.

When it comes to map additions I think that it would be cool. However that said if there was to be new additions to the map I envision either small islands or off-shore sites like an oil platform, aircraft carrier stuff like that. Full cities is a bit out there so I doubt we'd ever see something like Venturas or San Fierro. If they do get featured they'd probably be like the size of Alderny at most and the size of Sandy Shores at least.

remember when heists were supposed to be in the SPRING updates?  yeah they are just stalling us until next gen comes out.  thats what i feared if they announced a next gen version.  no more support for the 360 and ps3 anymore.

A lot of people are voicing this concern, including some of my friends.

I'm not too worried however. If you think about it the 360 and PS3 versions are more or less ports of the one and ps4 versions. I say this only because all of the trailers gameplay and otherwise looked nextgen.

I'm guessing that yes, a few things the ps3 and 360 might not get however most of the future dlc will be ported over.

Something else on my mind, if new cities were to come out I can see rockstar making you but plane tickets in game at an insane price, that or needing to use real money to go there in game...That would be really lame lol.

I can see an insane price in game money (like 250,000 or something) but they wouldn't outright charge real money. It's the subtlety of Shark Cards that lure people in.

Most likely. But with the never ending money glitches there's a chance they may charge actual money for something of such magnitude.

Of course I'm sure they are getting tons of cash from kids with access to thier parents credit cards already.

IMO, Xbox360/PS3 version will be dead by end of winter. XboxOne/PS4 I'd say dead by this time next year. Why?

XboxOne/PS4 is already going to split a dwindling playerbase. In all fairness perhaps only Rockstar knows the playerbase numbers but I don't think it's unreasonable to consider a game that's already been out 10 months having a decline in its playerbase. As for the XboxOne/PS4 issue, IMO the vast majority of people that wanted to play GTA V have already been playing it. The majority of the people that pick it up on XboxOne/PS4 will likely be existing players getting it for the current gen consoles. When that happens, instead of a dwindling, but consolidated playerbase on one set of consoles; you'll end up with two even smaller playerbases across two sets of consoles.

Timeline predictions:

Summer 2014:

-We get some more item packs, maybe Casino DLC for GTA Online, likely get Flight School DLC for single player.

Fall/Winter 2014:

-Shortly before or when the XboxOne/PS4 versions release we gets heists as a short-term solution to bump up interest and increase the playerbase in both versions.

-Sometime shortly after the XboxOne/PS4 release we get a major update to content creator and have mission creator added (because only verified jobs from Xbox360/PS3 will be available on XboxOne/PS4)

Winter/Spring 2015:

-Major single player DLC released to preserve interest in the game as online scuffles along due to decreased playerbase

-One final significant multiplayer DLC release. Just for fun let's say they add North Yankton.

Summer 2015:

-One more major single player DLC

-Red Dead Revolution officially announced at E3

Late Summer/Fall/Winter 2015:

-A few item packs until Red Dead Revolution releases in Spring

So...

Glorified Mission = Good

Glorified Versus Missions = Bad

Ok...

People were really excited at the idea of being able to do story based heists. Do it their way. It's a boner killer if it's pvp

People are also really excited about the idea of doing PvP heists.

I certainly hope that Online Heists are not structured as they are in Story Mode. If that were the case, they would inevitably lead to grinding whereas PvP Heists would offer an element of unpredictability and would make them far more difficult to grind.

You mean the couple million story pay outs? Chances are it would be like 40k maybe more. I just meant being able to decide if we go in loud or quiet, dress up as cops, janitors, whatever grab what we can and flee

Payouts are going too roughly be around $300,000.00 according too dom.

I hope the heists will be both PvP and co-operative.  That there are multiple choices / approaches too completion etc.

I'm still deciding when to put the boots up on my ps3/360.

It sucks me and my 360 only had a few good memories.
But my ps3? Whoooooo weeeeee we've had tons and tons of memories.

OP, Next gen gta will be interesting the first week it's out, hell maybe even the second week. But one things for sure and that is next gen will boost the game play aspect. But eventually the player base will decrease because...

1 . HOW long it takes r* to release a update already.
2 . the upcoming games like the division,

Great times are ahead of us folks, prepare yourselves.
I'm happy to call myself a gamer

Focus on SP? Gta V's SP was excellent. How has rockstar messed up SP at all?

SP mode was excellent, but way too short, and I think it's pretty fair to say that some of this was due to more time being allocated to GTAO. People say GTAO was 'free' - but I think we did pay for it with the story length.

I'm not fussed anyway, it's the online component that keeps me playing long term which is more important to me.

Buying a new console doesn't mean throwing the old one out. Not really worth trading in or selling as they're not worth that much.

I'll probably phase out the X360 over the space of a year (dependent on title releases blah blah)

That SP was sh*t, IV's SP made me feel emotional for Niko. It gave me TRUE emotions. That was the first time a game had ever did that to me. V was a total disappointment, back in IV you could only play SP and have fun forever. But in V, man I can't play SP for more than a minute before going online.

Huh....can't say I agree with that. I enjoyed gta 4's story mode as well. However 5's story mode was far better, yes it was much shorter then 4. However the missions were better, and the gameplay for 5 was WAYYY better. The driving especially, anyone who says it was better because it was more "realistic" is insane. I will say I did enjoy the flying much more though.

NO IT WASN'T. STOP SAYING IT WAS. ROCKSTAR NEVER SAID THAT IT WOULD BE, ANYWHERE, AT ANY TIME. ENOUGH ALREADY.

Please somebody show me where and when rockstar said they would be in the game from the beginning. Exactly, THEY DIDN'T. I am so tired of seeing people saying this just to have something to bitch about.

Open the trailer again. Use home theater and raise the volume maximum. Listen and watch.
