Obviously GTAO has lost much momentum since the heist fiasco, however I believe that much of our most wanted dlc, heist included are looming around the corner. My theory is after the X1, PS4, and PC release we'll be seeing wave after wave a dlc.

Because of the new systems getting the game as well it'll increase the lifespan of the game on the whole. Rockstar has gotten much grief over their handling of things recently. It seems many forget that they are quite good at what they do.

They have put to much effort into Gtao just to let it fall apart. That's why after the new releases its my belief that we'll see see a new side of GTA online. Even better then what most imagined it to be from the beginning.

Thoughts?

I'll be honest. If  heists is going  to be PvP. I'll try it like once and more than likely never touch it again

Never thought of that. PVP heist sounds just horrible. With exception of a sort of cops and crooks thing where one team would spawn as cops and attempt to stop the robbers.

That's something I think would be quite enjoyable.

GTA:O needs something huge that isn't heists. They hyped us up for that (although I never gave a flying sh*t) and then let us down. We don't care anymore. We want new stuff that isn't heists, unless heists gives us the ability to buy, store and modify all vans.

PvP Heists will spilt the community, and I think it's a terrible idea.

GTA Online does have infinite potential. It hasn't been a year, but it's pretty damn fun so far. Hopefully this is just the start. When it gets released on next gen, I'm sure we will see much more content.
Perhaps these updates are just tasters of what will be coming up, who knows.

We can criticise Rockstar for many things, but it isn't easy doing all of this. Also, remember what Mr The Benz said about Online, and how they had 45 years worth of ideas. I hope this is all true.

Exactly. Lol I found out about GTAO mins before I even opened gta v. But I think your right. But rockstar isn't dumb. They know they are losing us, but like I said they aren't dumb. I'm sure their planning something, some big stuff indeed (maybe I'm just foolishly opstmistic). But it seems they have been focusing on getting the game onto the new systems first and foremost.

Rumor is that heists may incorporate Cops 'N Crooks.

That would be great!! However I do agree with HoneyBadger, it would split the community pretty badly. Although if their were two types of heist. (One normal SP style, and one CaC style) that would be the best.

I fail to see how that would split the community.

Could not agree more with PvP Heists being the worst idea ever and if this was the case, completely nulling and voiding almost all enjoyment from the Heists Update.

Recalling the "Leaked DLC" Videos a while back regarding the fact Heists could be PvP, if this was the case (I am sure the leak was completely made up) as the Videos mentioned, as well as meaning R* have been BS'ing regarding the ability to release Heists (as glorified Versus Missions would not be hard to make), I would try them once probably and that would be that.

I feel the game has become stale, particularly for the top end of town; higher ranked players who have plenty of game time and been able to unlock nothing for almost 8 months like myself...

16 cops and 4 crooks. For what people think. That's a lot of fire power and no news if the cops are going to use shotguns and hand guns or if it's a player's arsenal RPG s, tanks, buzzards... fun

Rockstar Games Newswire on GTA:O - January 10th 2050:

"Stay tuned for more info about Heist coming as part of Spring Update"

Rockstar Games Newswire on GTA:O - June 28th 2050:

"Heist took longer than anticipated. Please know we are currently working on it so players will have a great Heist experience. Please enjoy Super Nebula Update and stay tuned for more info about Heist."

Rockstar fanboys' respond on this:

"OMG. Thanks R*. Super Nebula Update is super cool. Don't worry about Heist, R*. Take your time. It's only been 36 years and few months. I'm ready to wait more for your awesome Heist! xoxo"

I just want a Police DLC. I wanna chase down criminals, both NPC and player, in my very own police car, in my own uniform and kill them in cold blood Mad Max style.

The only aspect of that DLC I'd enjoy is owning my own (customisable?) police car

People are also really excited about the idea of doing PvP heists.

I certainly hope that Online Heists are not structured as they are in Story Mode. If that were the case, they would inevitably lead to grinding whereas PvP Heists would offer an element of unpredictability and would make them far more difficult to grind.

You mean the couple million story pay outs? Chances are it would be like 40k maybe more. I just meant being able to decide if we go in loud or quiet, dress up as cops, janitors, whatever grab what we can and flee

Where did I mention that Online Heists would pay a "couple million"?

If they are structured as they are in Story Mode (i.e. glorified mission), then they would no doubt pay something pathetic as $40K. Players would very quickly learn the structure of the heist, and grind it (like every thing else in the game as of right now).

We all must be in tune I was thinking along the same lines OP

I had a notion that once heists are out and everyone gets over how good/bad they are, then we can all move on and look ahead for what could become of our beloved GTAO. Lets face it there will be upsets with their shameless greed but lets hope that true game development wins the day in the end

However Heist feature will play like, also don't forget there's Cash Card aside.

So don't get your hopes high.

Let's hope so. Heist are kinda a moot point for me now. I too am more interested in WHAT COMES NEXT.

I hope you're right, but we'll just have to wait and see. I do think it is  realistic that they add more cities such as Las Venturas or even a return to Liberty City, since it uses the same graphics engine and they only need to remaster it.

Oh for the love of pink adorable fluffeh rabid meth addicted giggling bunnies.  No more Liberty City, it's so overplayed and stagnant. It has what four games that take place there? Why return?

I wouldn't mind if R* actually introduced a story element into online. I do see R* adding cities in the future though.

They do plan on adding more story for the 3. Could be the other two cities
