I don't know, it just seems like a film Michael wouldn't do. He says several times in-game that he's a "Classic Vinewood" movie type of guy, so you would think the movie would be based off of something like that, but instead we got this awkward, not funny, almost waste of time type of movie.
What did you guys think of the movie? The only part I liked was when they showed Liberty City in the background and when Michael's name appeared in the beginning.

Was anybody else disappointed with the movie Meltdown?

I didn't like it, nor did I like any of the movies in general. Especially how when you tried to zoom in on the screen it had that odd effect,

Agreed. I thought it was even more stupid than Steve Haines' show.

I usually didn't last any longer than five minutes into that movie. Waited to see "Associate Producer - Michael De Santa" in the beginning credits while playing as Michael, and then skipped out of the movie sometime during the classroom scene because it doesn't hold my interest for that long.

It was meant to be sh*t on purpose? am i the only one not seeing that
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Meltdown is supposed to parody the sh*t movies churned out from Hollywood nowadays. It's just strange how Michael is proud to be an associate producer of that movie, despite his taste for classic films.

I think the movie is just making fun of those wall street movies then anything else.

Well, it was pretty much meant to be sh*t, it's funny in it's own right for that with the cheesy scenes that obviously used greenscreen (That ending beach walk scene xD).
I did find it interesting though that it seemed like Rockstar used the Icenhancer mod when getting the footage from IV.

I can't believe I haven't seen that. I saw every movie in the game except for that one. That's what I love about this game. After so much time I still find new things in it.

It was awful. Initially I thought it was kind of funny, but having seen it again, it's just plain bad.
And Michael might consider himself a classic Vinewood guy, that doesn't necessarily extend to the movies he finances. It's not like he wrote and directed it, just provided 'executive production'
Which means he paid loads of money to have a sh*t film made.

I study film so the movie, and the short film industry plot was actually very funny for me. It's odd that Michael is so proud of the movie and he barely had anything to do with it.
I think there's a lot of stuff that happens to the characters that we don't see. That's why people complain about the story being rushed. To me it makes sense, because when you change characters, you see them going about their lives. So when you change to Michael he's usually at the movie studio.

He probably just liked being known for something that doesn't involve murdering people and robbing for once. He's even said he wanted his family to be proud of him for something.
There always tends to be background stuff we never see with the characters when we play. I believe Micheal comments on saying "That scene was my idea" and such after you watch Meltdown with friends.

Well, feature films generally aren't only 10 minutes long, either. I wouldn't take it so literally.

You're expecting a good movie in a video game based on parody and satire. It accomplished the satire, whether you thought it was funny is up to you, but you can't blame it for not being a satire.

It makes me laugh hard. It was clearly made to be a "so bad it's good" satire on modern Hollywood cliches.
Seriously, Abner is such a badass.
"I just said f*ck, I'm an outlaw. That means we get an R rating!"
"I just pressed this button, and now tense music is playing, and THERE'S DATA...MOVING REALLY QUICKLY!"
Also, I'm I the only one who thinks graphic enhancer mods make GTA IV look like sh*t? I don't understand why Rockstar used one for Liberty City footage. The game is detailed enough without, a TBOGT-style colour filter would have been enough imo.

Michael needs to keep to killing people instead of slapping his name on a dumb movie.
I can understand the movie making fun of how bad movies are made nowadays, though.

I was pretty much disappointed with the way Mikes story go's. The 'job' he gets just makes him even cheesier and he loses the cool factor he has at the start. But yes to answer the question, i expected better.

I agree, it wasn't in Michael's style that he wanted to make movies in. I also have reason to believe it's because of the story and how it's written; silly and serious.
