Since day one.

People have been claiming it's a spoiler for an upcoming DLC for-evah.

Yeah, I had to un-install my game before due to some problem with getting online.

So I was able to play it like it was originally before any patches, and see if anything had changed since then (this was back in April).

In story mode it is there, along with all the foreclosure signs, and the blue tarpaulin on the unfinished buildings on the construction sites!

Someone suggested that because we see these things all the time, but do not take much notice of them.

So, sometimes when we look at them they look different or somehow unfamiliar.

I had heard about the sculpture being changed in the Beach-Bum update.

Not sure why they chose to put a statue of the Freemason's logo there, probably some R* humour or whatever!

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode 'Homer The Great' when he is made the head of the The Stonecutters'

Probably going slightly OT here, but I can't EVER see R* opening a casino/stocks for online.

Why?

Can you imagine the grief R* would get if people developed a real gambling addiction and were using real money to buy cashcards for GTA$ to fund their in-game addiction...
...especially if it turned out to be minors!!

I might be wrong, but I just can't ever see us getting a casino whilst we have microtransactions in the game.

the chances of people developing gambling addiction in gta its the same as those that play online poker or buy scratch cards at the local mini market.

as for minors gambling? well the last time i checked this game was ment to be played by adults.

if parent were negligent and got the game for a underage kid, thats their problem, not R* problem.

I second this.

This is why i cant wait for gta for the current gen. In the trailer i remember them saying it was an ever evolving world. I wonder if that means the buildings that are under construction, will be finished later on...

Right, just like the trailer said for the GTA Online we're playing right now...

Nothing will be different between PS3/360 and PS4/One online

You never know. Remember, gta v is running on 9 year old equipment atm. Maybe all the stuff that was supposed to be in the game just would make the game more buggy. Current gen consoles and pc will be able to run those things that werent in the last gen.

updating building models has nothing to do with console power, it's just swapping out one model for the other.

they already did it with the statue for some reason

the stuff that's only possible on next gen is stuff you saw in the next gen trailer like grass, increased NPC's and traffic and probably a larger draw distance

alongside all the obvious upgrades like higher resolution textures and other visual knick knacks ofcourse

Rockstar hasn't changed any map-related thing.

Not quite true. They did add signs outside the new houses.

It would not be gambling unless you win real cash or prizes. Without that it is just a game. As for the adult aspect of the game the online portion is not rated and the EULA states age verification at 13. I find that stupid because as a parent of teenagers I would not let any of mine play it.

I understand what CrazyRay, CarimboHanky, JuanFartez et al are saying, of course minors shouldn't be playing GTA.

But just on Friday I got a message saying "Hi. I'm Ryan. I'm 9 years old. How old are you?". I ignored it and got a voice message saying the same thing. I replied "Aren't you a little young to be playing GTA?" and never heard anything after that.

My point being we all know parents are responsible for making sure their children play appropriate age related games (my daughter is 15 - she isn't allowed to play GTA) but how many actually do? Especially with consoles being predominately in bedrooms/play rooms.

The liberal media would have a f*cking field day on R* if anything like I mentioned in my first post came to fruition.

(PS - apologies for the tl;dr post!)

I agree with all of you saying minors should not be playing GTA V. But what I want to bring up is the term "minors" is used pretty loosely. I know it's the whole 17 and under thing, but I think that a 16 or 17 year old playing this is not the same thing as a 12 year old, or a 9 in the case of the Ryan kid, but I think we all know that and acknowledge it.
Before I get any further, let me just say that I am a minor, I am currently 16 years old turning 17 in 3 or 4 months.
Anyway, I do agree that younger kids should not be playing GTA games. I got into the GTA scene at an extremely young age, back when I was 7 or 8 playing GTA:SA at a friends house. My parents had no idea, and it was not a game allowed at my house.
Skip to GTA:V. 16 right now, and to me it doesn't affect much. Seeing all the gun violence and sexual references, you see it anywhere else honestly. School, news, around the town, etc. That does not, however, mean that I would react the same if I were in my early teens. I've done some bad things in my life that I do regret to this day, mainly because of the effect of the gta series on me in a younger age. I can't blame it all on that, but there are a good amount of items that I can say were because of the series.
What I am getting to is younger kids, keep them as far away from GTA as possible. Their friends will probably play it, make sure the kids don't play with them.
Slightly older teens 15 or 16+, I say if they are in a mature enough position, let them go and have some fun. By the way, this is not in any way a post of me telling you how to raise your kids. If you want them to play it, let them. If you don't, don't let them. If they can't until they're 18, that works too. They're your kids, do what you feel is right. This is just me saying how yes, the GTA series is horrible for young children, but later on when the kids begin to mature, maybe let them get a shot at it.

Ok sorry, on topic.. sheesh, I've been writing meaningless stuff all night  :
The banner has been there forever. R* can do some map additions, most likely not till next gen, but they can! They've said before they want to expand the map, let's see how creative they are in these next few years!

To be fair I don't think it really matters what age. I don't mean it is ok to be 5 and playing(however, I am not going to judge) GTA. I think maturity is the key. I have ran into many 14-16 year olds(on other games as well) that are mature and smart enough to get a pass if you will, yet I have ran into a bunch of 20-30 year olds that act like they are 10. My point is that there is too much emphasis on age. Kinda like how you are able to drive a vehicle at 16, but can't buy a nude mag until you are 18 or carry mace/pepper spray to defend yourself. How you can be 18 and die for your country, yet can't drink until you are 21. Perhaps I am going to far with this, but it is something I see come up often usually making little sense.

They could probably implement another currency for gambling that can't be bought with in game cash. Something like casino chips that you have to do missions for and can be used to gamble and convert into cash. That is, if they even care about the possibility of kids gambling.
