Rain = less traction.  Thats why the have more traffic jams IRL when it rains.  Distracted / inexperienced drivers driving too fast or fishtailing causing accidents.

So no, it's not too slippery.

realism

I think it's over realistic, for a game especially.

In a game it has to be over realistic, take things like comedy for example when it is exaggerated...

GTAV's handling on rain isn't even as slippery as GTAIV on a dry sunny day.

The better the realism the better the immersion experienced by gamers so it is about right. Could actually be a bit less 'grippy' tbh.

What you probably don't realise is; a. exactly how fast you are really going, which is much faster than you think, b. exactly how much water is on the road when it really starts raining (i'm guessing just under an inch), and c. how poorly cars actually handle under these conditions.

Look up hydroplaning.

I don't have too many issues driving in the rain with a AWD vehicle like the entity.

It certainly makes it more difficult, but it should too.

I like it when it rains, I find sliding round corners very fun, only in the right cars though.

Some can be very uncontrollable but easy enough to get used too.

Holy sh*t yes.  The driving was so bad in GTA IV that I couldn't even play it.  I tried.  I occasionally go back to it because I want to know how the story plays out, but after an hour or so of dealing with the driving, I say f*ck it and turn it off.  I really wish there was a patch for it.  It pissed me off so much.  Being a big GTA fan, it was like christmas when it came out, but then I got it and it was like someone took a sh*t in my stocking.

Not slick enough. GTA 5 would've sold just as well, with finely tuned GTA 4 driving, but I guess it doesn't matter, because we will all by GTA just to try it. It doesn't matter about the details, but it mattered about the details that all rockstar's employees and employers games they've played through out the years that became their favorites.

it would be boring without the diffrence, the lack of traction makes for a fun challenge, espically if you like to drift

No, especially since R* changed that the Spoilers and different tire types give you more traction.
And yes it is a lot more fun to drift, without it being too arcade like.

Clearly the programmers have either never driven a car period or never driven one in the rain, lol!

Yeah, i noticed that too. Rain = less traction, yes, but there is a difference between "less traction" and "the icescapades". Having the effect so exaggerated doesn't add any more realism than not having it at all.

Also, is it just me or do the vehicles seem way too light? I actually drive a car in the real world everyday and I can say from experience: hitting a speed bump at 20 mph doesn't send your car soaring through the air for 100 feet, it just makes a gnarly banging noise and rattles the coins in the cup holder.

Yes they are too light, and even more so in race mode for some reason. Makes no sense why free mode and race mode have different handling for same car.
