About this mod:

"Liberty for All" aims to bring Liberty City from the III era together with its IV counterpart. The III era Liberty City will be remodeled and retextured to mesh both cities together, not to have one stand out. This mod will also bring III's Liberty City up to date, such as making use of HD textures and remodeling parts of the city to show that the years have gone by.  The land mass’s will stay the same but III's LC will be altered, different building in place of old ones and so on.

Progress:

City - Done

HD textures – 5% Just roads grass dirt terrain is mostly done.

Ageing city – 0%

Vegetation - Done And enhanced with GTAIV vegetation.

Props - 100% gtaIII complete 50% done... props are taken from IV ( streetlights traffic lights e.c.t) need to add different things like food vendors, mail boxes ect

Other - a couple objects around have missing textures.or flashing textures. About 50% fixed.

 

Screens: Taken with iCEnhancer 3.0 ( just a personal choice makes the city look amazing. yes i know the nightlights are really bright :p)

to my knowledge this exact thing hasn't been done before

 

besides it isn't always about being original, it's about being the first one to put the effort in. and this sounds like a cool idea, I'd definitely play it if you worked on it more :)

I'm not sure what you were fixing to go for other than putting both Liberty Cities together. But then again, that's just me.

Yes, keep working on this. Having both the III era Liberty City and the HD era Liberty City together on one map is great! Awesome work.

 

My only concern is did you convert the III era map on your own? Or are you using it from another mod? Judging by the op, you're using it from another mod.

I like the idea. You should continue working on this, but first fix those bugs around the map like flying objects, missing textures...etc.

That tunnel in shoreside vale, I always wanted to see it completed, and lead to somewhere, besides the whole ghost town thing. I used the mod "http://gtaforums.com...v-gta-iii-rage/" and redid all the IMG WPL and IDE's also remodeled the islands in 3dsmax to condense the models. I still dont know the model/texture limits gtaiv has, so i tried to push it, seeing that i had the room to fit old liberty..

I kinda like the idea. It is interesting to see the two maps next to each other like that.

Another mod like this that would be neat is to add SF and LV to GTA V's map when GTA V is out on PC. Though in this case, it would be better to see original versions of the cities rather than the San Andreas ones, it would still be a neat concept.

Ahh, so you're using Garju's map? That's cool. I haven't heard much from him though, is he still even active on his accounts?

Figured as much, I see the same bugs as I saw on that map. Doubt he'll mind as he left gta modding, doesn't hurt to ask though.

Was it ported to rage? I read GTA 2 was ported to rage but I didn't read anything about GTA 1

Was it ported to rage? I read GTA 2 was ported to rage but I didn't read anything about GTA 1

 

I am not sure if it was or not althought I know the 3dmax files for GTA 1 cities are floating around somewhere as I had them back in 2012 from a topic here

I was on vacation since Thursday, sorry everyone. I think gta 1 would be interesting as-well but as long as i can fit everything into the 6000 limit area. Also, my question still remains, is there a limit on either models, textures or IMG loading ? I'll probably start working on this more and post some screenshots in the next couple of days when i have something to show. Thanks everyone that voted on the poll, gave me an idea weather or not to pursue this. :lol:

Well, I reorganized all the files, did some bug fixes and decided to work on one island at a time. Right know, Portland is looking good, i have taken the bugs out of the monorail and did some texture changes as well as vegetation changes. The models textures img ide and wpl have all been changed to make it more accessible and less files to load. I still need to work on the ped path lights and taking the reflection off the road.

Im using the different textures and tree models from IV to mesh together the look of both city's.. Bring old liberty up to par with the new one.

That's groovy cool, especially seeing as some of the first pictures you took for the mod, III's Liberty City looked way too luscious and green. Can't wait to see what more you do to Portland  :^:

yes :lol: The entire city is in and mostly all the bugs are cleaned up. The collision on streetlights are working and all the vegetation is in. ill be posting screens a little later as well as updating the first post. just cleaning everything up and might post another short video.
