Over the passed 10 months since this games release, there has been a lot of people complaining about the game, it's features, content, and wait times for DLC and Updates. I ask this......Why?!?! Please indulge me and tell me what about this game, or it's makers warrant this kind of backlash. But first, take into account what you may have spent your money on in the past. Call of Duty, and their $10-20 DLC's? Racing Games that give you few options other than sitting behind a wheel? Or any company that produces games annually that are very similar to their predecessors? Seriously, take a step back and look at the picture as a whole, and take everything into account before chastising this company for making us wait for DLC, or teasing us with Murals on mountains. When deciding on what other games I may want to buy now, I ask this simple question to myself.........Why would I want to?

I have everything I could ever want in a game, all in one sweet package already. You like Call Of Duty? Great, GTA not only has most of the same game modes as COD, but they also give you the option to do it in free roam, or even create your very own deathmatch, capture, or last man standing mode. You like Grand Turismo, Midnight Club, or Need for Speed? Great, GTA allows you to play a vast number of different races, using a huge variety of vehicles and classes, as well as giving you the opportunity to race in free roam, jobs, or create you very own unique race, catered to your personal pleasures. I could go on, but for the sake of keeping this somewhat close to terse, I will stop there, because I think your starting to see my point. GTA gives you the choice to play most any of your favorite game types, and not only that, that allow you to customize and create them as well. Seriously, what more could we ask for? I'm tired of shelling out $60 every year for a recycled and hastily made version of a game I thought I liked. Yeah, Rockstar takes a lot of time in between games, but what they give you in return is quality. All the other game makers tweak one or 2 aspects, change the charachter names, setting, and slap a new label on it, and try to pass it off as the next best thing, hoping we won't notice that all they've done is recycle the same sh*t they produce every year, and try to pass garbage off as gold. I say the funk with that. I've now chosen to stay loyal to the company that deserves my business. That being said, again, thank you Rockstar for putting out quality products, and not following the same formula as these other companies. I have already spent around $40 on Shark Cards, and I will continue to buy more, for the simple reason that they deserve my money, for the hard work, detail, and effort that they put forth to make a great product, and continue to cater to the fans that helped them rise to the success they enjoy now. Anyone else that wants to spend 10-20$ per DLC for silly map packs, or other goofy nonsense feel free, but as long as Rockstar keeps giving us FREE content, and quality stuff, I'll continue to give them my business rather than anyone else. Sorry if this comes off as a rant, but I'm just tired of hearing people complain about a product, and a service that is light years ahead of the competition, and is a company that caters to its fans more than any other. Peace, love, and unity my friends. Long live the R! I hope I'm not the only one that sees it this way.

Had to edit this scene from "Scent of a Woman" in here, because I just wish Col. Frank Slade could properly defend Rockstar for me, the way he did for Charlie. I like to think he's referring to Rockstar in this scene. Enjoy, and if you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend a viewing.

You're not...but most people'll never say it here.

Apparently it's still cool to hate everything for no reason.

It is an unwritten rule that you are not allowed to like Rockstar, GTA V or GTA Online, lest you be called a fanboy by people who don't understand the term, or are unable to accept that people can hold differing opinions to them.

Anyway, plus one to positive sentiments and so on.

I don't know what game you've been playing, but GTAO is littered with game breaking bugs and exploits which 10 months later have yet to be fixed.

Quality? I died.

I agree.

However, this is a forum. If I want to read THAT much of someone's opinion or story I will go to a Barnes & Noble.

Try to keep it a little shorter and a little more organized. Wall of text, just strains the eyes.

But even with all of those problems, isn't it still worth it? It's not like we're being forced to pay for the DLC's or the updates. It's a courtesy extended from the developers and the entire staff as a thank you to you, me and the rest of the players. What other game even gives you a friggin economy? What other game gives us the freedom to mod or not mod? And there is always single player mode, and solo or friend sessions in Online. We are not being forced to deal with any of that. They have given us a damn close replication of actual everyday life, but they have also given us something we don't have in real life, money to burn on finer things. Yes, those problems may seem bad, but where else can you go to get anything else that even comes close to all the options and choices they've given us here?

For £32 for the game ( thanks tesco) plus £36 worth of cash cards, I've had 20 full days worth of entertainment. That's about 4 days in SP and 16 online.
I'm more than happy with that.

Your words ring so true. And it's a shame that people can be so narrow minded about certain things. Especially when all the company is trying to do, is please it's customers. I'm happy to see that others feel the same way. And if I come off as a fanboy, or a suck up to those people, oh well, I really could care less, and neither should anyone else, because their opinion is just that, an opinion. And an opinion is only as valid as the source it comes from, so I really don't mind the negative feedback from people like that, because it really doesn't hold much weight in my eyes, unless they can produce a valid argument. Thanks "Insert" for your thoughts.

The problem isn't the game... the problem is the people playing it.

For example this forum... people likes to flame users (and I'm sure at least one will complain about the paragraphs). Also the YouTubers are ruining this, by making a community that don't enjoy playing or making friends, they act like assholes (SirWeed) without noticing they have children watching them... and of course, kids who think they're cool because acting like cheap criminals from a Disney movie.

This would be the greatest gaming experience if we had a community like the one Bungie made with Halo in 2007-2010.

I completely agree, OP. This game is really worth $60 for the amount of original, fun content it brings.

Many people complain about Rockstar loving money - but they have to make some somehow! They give us free, awesome DLC's! People don't need to buy Shark Cards. Many complain about the people playing the game, but that isn't always the case. Sure there are hackers and glitchers, but I avoid the bad players and play with the good ones and everything's fine. Others complain about missing content - such as heists. These people need to realize all the good things Rockstar is bringing us in the meantime and know that they're making heists better for our enjoyment.

Absolutely, and good point. This game is like a work of art, and the entire point of art, is to elicit some sort of feeling from the viewer, whether it be good or bad. So, the fact that we are all here, with positive or negative opinions, is appreciation in itself. The fact that it's caused so many people to join this forum and share their opinions, is certainly a show of appreciation and great respect in itself. Thanks for your input, and well put my friend.

fanboys - repping butt kissing and will never criticize said game even if it kills them*

EA games: "Fanboys raised our company profile by 20%, i really like how they....."

Activision: "A true treasure, its like we're celebrities and we're the kings at a shanty town and all the poor kids run up to us wanting to shake our hands"

Take-Two: "That's why they call me big willy"

If you didn't read it, get out of here instead of posting a response. That's like writing an online review for a movie and saying you didn't even watch the movie. Immature folks ruin this place.

In either case, I agree with the original poster. Too many gamers act like entitled pieces of trash. Games are meant for enjoyment and relaxation, not stressing over. Games are a way to escape the real world for a while and relieve some stress. Why act like gaming is some sort of job with wage raises involved?

I'm with you all the way OP, and I agree with you on every level. I for one love GTA and all it has to offer. Sure, there are some issues... sometimes many issues... but, what game doesnt have issues? What game is all the way 100% perfect with no flaws? And, as far as some of the major issues online, I blame the modders... if R* didnt have to constantly fix the issues that modders create, then they'd have more time to finish what they need to finish in order to release heists, and fulfill everybody's request for what they want.

GTA is the only game I even play on a normal basis. I bought my 360 years ago because of GTA. I have only now decided to buy an Xbox1 because GTA will be released on it. I love the game, and all that R* has given with it... you wont find anything like this anywhere else.

And, I'm not a "fanboy". I like what I like, and this game is something I've always liked... plain and simple. Anyone who thinks differently can suck it.

I am a Rockstar fanboy. any other game I have is to hold me over until the next game comes out. YES, not everything is perfect, but each tittle put out is better than the previous. I have yet to experience these "game breakers." I will admit I hated the driving on GTA5 for the first couple days, but got over that pretty quick. any real complaint I've had I've GTAO is about the community. the glitcher/modders ruined my experience a little bit when I was given more cash than i ever need, but i stayed away from spending it, & continued to play like a peasant.

for me it boils down to "am I having fun" and 10 months later the answer is YES.

For a 32 year old veteran, you should've known that if there is any debate of which there are already numerous threads, it is this one.

But for the sake of argument I can say with full confidence that I love this game very much. It's a great game and it dwarfs any of their previous games. A few years from now it will be legendary. But does that also mean that I have to respect their shady business methods and the somewhat obnoxious way of communicating with their fanbase?

OP just copied and pasted the same wall of text he left in the thread "To the people who say to play..." post #20.

Never mind the fact that it went completely ignored but he then felt the need to create a thread about it...

I take OP even less serious now. You should feel bad.

ok, so basically the thing is about people posting threads on here complaining about the game/s (GTA5/GTA Online) is...

If everything is going ok, and there are no problems - there isn't too much to say.

Just imagine if the game/s were perfect, there were no bugs/glitches, no modders/'hackers', annoying griefers, etc.

What would everyone be posting about?

Ok, well we do have the 'appreciation' threads (which probably deserve their own sub-forum b.t.w.) and 'share your story' (which most people don't read).

Apart from that, let us have a quick look:
