CREATOR: Guillermo del Toro
NETWORK: FX

The first solid series about vampirism in a long time?
"A thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the Center for Disease
Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral
outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team,
and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself."

Don't be put off by the slightly corny summary above. I just finished watching the first two episodes,
and I found them pretty spectacular. Actors seem genuine, and it's really well written. It's got such
an intense feeling to it, which you rarely get from these sorts of shows, maybe with the exception of
Lost and True Blood to a degree. More than worth a watch. At least check out the trailer. :^:

It's been pretty good so far. It feels like quintessential del Toro. Especially with the little French girl.

Yeh I watched the first two episodes and it's looking like a good series so far. Been waiting for a good horror series.

It looks great, but I'd argue that it's the first solid vampire show in a long time. From Dusk Till Dawn is pretty damn solid.

The whole thing on how the contagion is being covered up is really ruining it for me. A rapid spreading contagion that makes people look like monsters yet the whole world doesn't know about it? After the incident at the old folks home, a cover up would have been impossible.

Did you miss the part where that blonde chick messed up the internet so nothing would work properly?

Ah, I forgot about that.

Regardless, out of the around 50 people at the old folks home and all of the people at the Intersection where the FBI Agents died, one of them would have talked to the press and the police officers that respond would have flipped out to seeing the dead bodies.

Wether the internet is up or not, hundreds of people witnessing monsters running around would be impossible to contain so it keeps giving off a "Thats stupid" feel.

As someone who doesn't watch a lot of TV, I find this show refreshing. It is something different , in contrast of what TV offers which is , dumb generic fluff. I am glad , it got picked up for another season.

Glad they finally introduced Quinlan, this guy's creepier than any other character.

I'm hooked on this show. Started off a bit... slow, and we had to watch an idiotic comment about a plane, but otherwise, top stuff.

It's one of the best shows around right now, hopefully it won't suffer the same fate as TWD where the first season is great and it gradually gets worse from the second season.

I think it's worse. All the characters turned into c*nts. Must be some kind of record. Too much bitching, irrational moaning and plot holes galore. And if you're going to reveal the face of the master vampire this early on, how about not making him look like he could be employed at Gringotts? He looks like a cross between a goblin and Yao Ming.
