Hey all,

I've installed GTA IV from disc and this is what my benchmark gives me:

Statistics
Average FPS: 13.99
Duration: 31.24 sec
CPU Usage: 53%
System memory usage: 39%
Video memory usage: 20%

Graphics Settings
Video Mode: 1920 x 1080 (29 Hz)
Texture Quality: Low
Shadow Quality: Low
Reflection Resolution: Low
Water Quality: Low
Texture Filter Quality: Anisotropic x4
Night Shadows: Off
View Distance: 50
Detail Distance: 31

Hardware
Microsoft Windows 7 GAMER" 2010

Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GT 610
Video Driver version: 337.88
Audio Adapter: Speakers (3- Bose USB Audio)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10GHz

It's laggy as sh*t.

Try disabling Anisotropic and lower your resolution or run game in windowed mode ! See here

Another GT 610 user hoping that it can run GTA IV without problem. GT 610 is an HTPC card which is ideal for watching HD videos etc. but not for gaming. And besides, GTA IV is real GPU and CPU intensive game. So, buy a decent GPU and your problem will be fixed.

I've got ATI , so I don't know about Nvidia. If nvidia has some sort of control center similar to AMD's, check if there's an option for triple buffering, if there is, enable it.  Also, download Razer game booster.

original poster is using bootlegged windows version

its no telling what important windows GTA iv-related files are missing.

but yeah, with only 48 shader core card (gt 610 seems to be the update *sarcasm* for gt 220)

graphic settings are gonna have to be lowered. its a shame with such a beast of a CPU also. but anyway...

----------------------------

Graphics Settings
Video Mode: 1920 x 1080 (29 Hz)
Texture Quality: Low
Shadow Quality: OFF

Reflection Resolution: OFF

Water Quality: Low
Texture Filter Quality: TRILINEAR

Night Shadows: Off
View Distance: 5
Detail Distance: 8

if you don't like those settings, buy a better video card (9800gt) or play with commandlines, then give up and buy a better video card out of frustration
