As a very active member of the creator community i thank you for spreading this information. like this, the people we don't need joining our jobs will actually keep themselves away. someone who is too lazy to actively find himself some quality jobs, only to then get on these here forums and bitch about the quality of matchmaking and custom content, someone like that will also not care to read the description of a job and therefor, for example, will .get stuck mid-race because he picked a Sanchez for a Sandking race. Then follows that one thing such people usually are never too lazy to do, which is to dislike your job. should you have the bad luck to get in to any kind of argument with someone like that, and be it that you just point out to them that the description clearly stated in BOLD AND ALL CAPS which vehicle(s) to use (just in case the title "Sandking your Sandking through Sandking Sandking Sandking" wasn't obvious enough), then you will often find out the next time you check your jobs that  a huge amount of dislikes has just materialized out of thin air. how such lazy, ignorant and petty pissants even have enough friends to pull off something like that is a book with seven seals to me.

It is annoying that if you lock your sandking only race to sandkings only that you can't use your custom sandking, huh?

it very much is, yes. was there some sort of implication in your post that i fail to see? if not, again, i agree. while the fundamentally flawed requirement of having to be able to finish your race in a stock vehicle causes enough needless limitations as it is, the inability to use our custom vehicles in a single vehicle race makes the whole issue just so much worse.

KingSolo, this is really a deathmatch problem...it dont have a ton to do with racing...
the way matchmaking is set up its really hard to get into good deathmatches... rockstar for whatever reason loves to match us up in 10000000rp and other generic matches where your getting baited by the 1 player who gets the minigun first...no serious players want to get tossed into these. otherwise you fish around for an hour litterally, in and out looking for a match to play...
this is the quick fix...

that i get, i'm having a terrible time hosting my DMs and captures when i'm on my own, simply because they never fill up. that's just another reason why i'm so glad to be part of the awesomeness that is Malicious Intent. imagine regular custom job events almost once a week, p much always with full lobbies & actually hosted by a guy who ensures fair time distribution among creators.

i don't even recall how the quick join option looks like

your fanaticism does not excuse broken game features
you might not need quick join but that doesn't make the total absence of any control over what you're playing, other than game mode, any more excusable
R* should add some filters or something at least, this isn't rocket surgery, literally 100's of games have done it before them.

as for OP, thanks for this tip will definitely have to check it out

now hold it right there... i am a fanatic because i hand pick the jobs i play? i blame this on some language issues for now, every other explanation for such a ludicrous statement would involve many unfriendly assumptions about your mental state and the cause of it. you might just want to town it down a notch, otherwise you^ll run out of superlatives should you ever be faced with someone half way deserving of your criticism

Perhaps a touch of implying that some people might lock races to one obscure vehicle in order to get easy wins by having the only custom one in the race (perhaps the Bullet) - not you, but some people surely would if it was possible. I do genuinely find it annoying as it means any race I design for Surfers has to either be stock only or face the prospect that someone will use a souped up Paradise. So they're basically only good for racing with crew - though against randoms it would mean I was giving myself an unfair advantage as described above...

signed as it is. the paradox thing specifically in Sandking races is that those who choose to ignore it basically grief themselves. and hit your dislike button for it. i have yet to encounter a creator of Sandking-specific content that does not try everything to inform players about it. i hate using capslock in descriptions, but i wouldn't publish one more specialist race without the vehicle requirement in all caps.

take a f*cking chill pill man

fanatacism is indeed a bit much and can be misinterpreted I geuss, so forget that entire sentence
but that still leaves the rest of my post which is perfectly clear
but which you chose to ignore in favor of taking offense to a single word, which you yourself could already see was most likely an error in translation/interpretation.

so again, and without the oh so offensive word this time.

The problem is that for every one person making decent content there are god knows how many making crap, tedious, time-wasting rubbish. Got stuck in a race yesterday for about 10 minutes because the creator had boxed everyone on a rooftop with a load of pixel perfect jumps needed to complete the race. You can't quit out if you don't want a bad sport warning, don't blame people for finding ways to avoid this crap. Blame the morons who keep making rubbish races and stupid death matches.

i was actually being sincere, not ironic, with my post. you on the other hand at least just now display part of the behavior i was referring to. if you actually took a little time to find jobs that are fit for your enjoyment, instead of using the content lottery that is the quick join option, you would have never landed in that race. so you really have no one to blame but yourself. probably even just reading the description and looking at the map while in the lobby would have cleared things up. but even if you already started racing you could always just use the "find new session"-option , i don't recall  that ever giving me a bad sport warning.

Unfortunately the host started the race the moment I joined the lobby before I was able to quit out. I could admittedly have quit at the vehicle select screen but, foolishly, i thought okay, I'll give it a go, maybe it will be ok. More fool me. I think it's a bit rich suggesting I'm the one at fault here. I play clean, fair, I don't kill other players without provocation, i never pit in races, I've never glitched yet I'm the idio, not the morons trolling the community with crap content?

PS

I do appreciate that this is rubbish for the people who are genuinely trying to produce good content. The morons are spoiling it for everyone.

Doesn't that just block ALL invites?
More details please. :)

No. It blocks "user created content". If it's content a friend created you can still play it. You can also play rockstar verified maps.

If it isn't verified you shall never see it again. No more 1000000rp, sh*tty custom maps, sky high melee stupid matches ect.

This is the holy grail my fellows

What else does it block - besides the fake deathmatches?

ALOT OF MONEY TO RACE or pretty much any other race around the map.

i found one of those races on the social club and decided to do it alone.

it took me 20 minutes to do, had me goin into backallies, climbing some low lying rooftops, a hole bunch of nutty stuff.

made 16k off of it...alone.

so..thats a thing.. i guess.

I don't get the problem. I usually only join custom modes that have a decent description and is all spelled correctly. I usually end up playing something that's half decent. If you join something that's like "$1000000000 OMG BEST EVAR!" by accident then back out of it. If they it's already started, then back out anyway. You get so little bad sport points that it doesn't really matter.

Fair enough but a waste of time since most times you get this 3 - 4 times in a row.

I don't want to spend 30 minutes looking for something decent to play and then play 10 minutes and wait another 30 looking for something decent again.

According to R* I have well over 300 badsport points just by leaving matches. I've not been badsported though so what you say there is true.

I checked my PSN settings last night, I don't find such an option equivalent to that of the Xbox. Since the Xbox is crap, I do envy them for having such a feature though.

while I completely agree with you, i've done some "research" which suggests the majority of gta players doesn't think this way

I had a race with a fitting title and accurate description and tried for hours to get people to join with little to no success

which is when I decided to do a little experiment and just call the race "1000000 $ and RP" or something

within minutes I had a full lobby.

just goes to show how the community as a whole can be kind of retarded.

i dont mind nicky9499...i went back to the op and fixed it with the format you posted... it looks better like that and i was half asleep at 3am when i posted it lol...

After some testing, these issues arose and i will edit the original post with issues and workarounds...

Known issues and work-arounds:

1. Crew Tattoo/Clothing Logo's Dissapear - no fix for this.

2. Get stuck in loading animation going into Garage/Apt. if cars inside have Crew Logo's on them - simply disable blocked content, reload game, remove crew logo's from cars. enable block content again, reload game. should work now.

3. Cannot create playlists (Vital for Heads Up Crew vs Crew TDM) - have a friend create the playlist and send you an invite, then you can join, or disable blocked content.

4. Cannot Alter Your Custom Created Jobs. - disable blocked content. re-enable when done.

5. Cannot join Custom map you want to play - add creator as friend.

6. Cannot Access in-game crew menu from the pause menu - use rockstar social club website.

and the obvious solution to any of this is to just go home, disable, then re-enable when needed. it takes no longer than 2 minutes to change and be back into the game.

Bumped for people in the "Joining Deathmatches is nearly pointless..." thread. You guys should make good use of this feature. (:

I might have just been better posting the link in that thread, but unless you like user-created content, everybody should at least be aware of the method to block them.

For months on end this has been a huge problem I've seen ppl complain about. No one wants to be thrown into 10000000rp or nonsense matches, right?
By doing this you will only get put into Rockstar Created and Verified matches (and friends created content if you pick that as your option)
We'll here is how you block them....

Xbox Home > Privacy > Change Settings > Customize
Scroll down to Content tab
Click on Member Content
Choose either "Blocked" or "Friends Only" ( I chose friends only)
Hit Back > Save And Exit
The game will ask you to log out. Do so.
Log back in and you're good to go.

You'll never see any of those crappy deathmatches again.
When you log into GTA online it will give you an alert that user content has been blocked. Hit ok and sign in. Best thing since sliced bread

edit: Known issues and work-arounds:

Thanks so much for this man!!!

^ its because all of the little babies that joined the board out of thin air to post 10000 topics about money glitching, so it got highly overlooked...as lame as that seems... i was fighting to keep this topic floating thru all them nonsense posts...

me and my guys now effortlessly get into TDM's thru the quick join option within a few tries with our preferred settings (owned+pickups, unlimited kills).

It's not worth it. On PS3 I have found many really good user created jobs....especially capture jobs. I have bookmarked quite a bit of them. Sure I hate when I get pulled into those RP sh*t jobs, but I'll gladly deal with it for the good ones I've found

^ There are good jobs out there, but they're very few and heavily underground.I've gotten paced unto some fun UC races and captures, but then again I've gotten placed into loads of Long Haul remakes and 2Dynamic4RP Captures...
