Because the game wasn't really centered around gang life so it just wasn't need, I think.

Their excuse is probably what Zack said. None of the characters would make sense messing with that. But to me this is a lazy excuse to just make less content. Every GTA has been about letting you go wild and do whatever you want in these huge world's. Now it feels like a scripted movie that you kinda get to witness.

If the major DLC pack for single player doesn't add substantial car modification features then I will be majorly disappointed.

Hydraulics were a 50/50 but with the prevalence of Franklin and his street racing in the game... where the F*CK is the nos!?!?

Kinda wondered that, guess Franklin moved away from the gang life so it'd only have made sense if Lamar was playable like it was originally intended (?).

Hydraulics =/= "Gang-Life"

What are you guys talking about?

R* could have easily implemented it in the game. It's SoCal for godsake.

Why didn't they include Neons/Fluorescents is a better question, especially as Midnight Club LA already had them.

It wouldn't make sense for the characters but yeah seeing some bang bangers popping on the corner would be cool.

I'm not sure if 'relevance to the characters' matters here. Sure, hydraulics would be a little out of place considering everything, but it'd be something that would be welcomed if implanted into the game, regardless of that restriction (if you would call it that).

My guess is that the next DLC brings an array of new mods, or at least something a little more than the standard ones we have now. Having twenty or so different horns is okay, but I'd pass a few of them for, say, nitrous oxide. Again, the whole system and the parts that come with it aren't bad in any means, the choices are just ... odd.

Without reading other posts:

Whether or not it was needed is not the point I do not think.

We should have the choice and opportunity to fully pimp our rides and that means adding Hydro's.

The game lacks this altogether, rather than offer a choice to people who damn well might have been excited about Hydraulics in the NEW GTA they waited ever so patiently for.

This annoys me and is the reason I do not bother with the lowriders at all.  After all, It would have been immense to car dance competitively online with other players.  Not only that but imagine parking up then pressing  button and she drops that ass, yano, just for added effect.

:)

In my opinion hydraulics are stupid and neons are hideous. However I can see no reason not to include them, it's up to the player to buy them or not and more choice is always good.

What I really don't get is how some cars have a ton of mods and other similar cars have practically none at all. They really couldn't think of any body mods for the adder, surfer, stanier etc? It just seems lazy. Some cars get six spoilers to choose from, some only get one or none at all. Why not have a set of ten different spoilers and let you fit them to any vehicle you want? Sure, you could make some pretty stupid looking vehicles but it's all about choice.

I also hate the way the mods which can appear on traffic cars cannot be selected in LS customs. For example surfer roof rack, bobcat bed cover and bull bars, infernus spoiler etc. and why the hell can't I mod a clean rebel as much as a sh*tty rusty one?

Hydraulics are still nowadays an important part of the Los Angeles culture. There were no reason to not include them in V.

The vehicles are not designed to fit with the main characters, but with the setting of the game. Seriously, do you think Trevor, Michael or Franklin would logically drive a Weeny Issi ?

so what if it doesn't fit any of the protags it's all about freedom of choice and variation not every michael, Trevor or Franklin is the exact same

So if you have hydraulics on a car, you're in a gang...

How would you even control the hydraulics? I know in San Andreas the only way to control hydraulics is with the joystick that used to be used to control the camera and it was a pain in the ass because you couldn't look around your car at the expense of being able to hop up and down.

Midnight Club LA had a really good Hydraulic control system.

I believe it was down on the D Pad, then L1/R1 and L2/R2 controlled each wheel, and the analog stick was your gas and brake.

I haven't seen a car with hydraulics in ages. Except the exceptions of the ghetto dudes that are stuck in the 90s.(LA resident)

You know that is mostly contribute to people not knowing the car culture of Southern LA with black and brown, so all they seen (if you have never been in the south LA before) is gangs and low riders with hydros and that's why they think those 2 go together.

I think ultimately they didn't do it in the beginning because they're going add it on later, like what they are doing with a lot of these free dlc. Like we got the new gold and brush gold metals eventually we will have an option to add hydros to cars.

What a stupid justification. You and I know that's rubbush. They left it out because they didn't want to bother with adding it.

Out of interest was it completely left out or was it in the original coding but cut instead?
