I was pretty amped for a while, when I saw that Rockstar released a new update! YAY!  :panic:

Buuuuuut....

Here I am, writing this stupid post, cause my game won't start!

Neither SP or MP seem to work...

I've restarted my PS3 several times, but nothing seems to happen!

Now I'm starting to think that I might need to reinstall the whole game?!

Anyone else with this problem?

Try signing out of PSN, start the game, and sign back in once it's loaded.

My ps3 has frozen several times while loading into sp and mp. My solution has been to take iainspad's method one step further and completely remove my ethernet cable while sp is loading up then reconnect it once it fully loads. Then load into a solo/invite session, then jump into a public session. Sometimes it appeared to freeze while loading into online so I let it sit for 30 seconds to 1 minute and it started to load again.

Tried the ethernet cable, also to do a restore point/reboot, but it simply doesn't work!

I'm guessing I'll need to wait for the 1.16 update to come out and cross my fingers it'll work then!!

Infinite loading?

I had fixed this issue on my PS3 by doing:

1. Close PS3 to red light OFF state.

2. Press and hold Power button till it turns on and turns itself back off.

3. Press and hold Power AGAIN and hold it until you hear two quick successive beeps and release the power button after these two beeps.

4. Use Restore database or rebuild database, and it will clean itself up.

Exactly!

Tried it didn't work tho.

I'm pretty sure I've tried all of the solutions internet had to offer for me!

Well I tried getting on tonight and I seem to be having the same problem as you. I even try my own method that used to work but has no effect now, Oh well guess I need to get outside more.

99 percent sure I had the same problem. Have you got the message to update to 1.15 or did you just get a black screen on launch? Seriously Im sure I had the same problem, reply to this or PM if I can help.

Could this, possibly, maybe, be connected to the announced r* maintenance that was going to make the game unavailable to ps3 players for a short time on the 7th? In the late morning, EST? I realise that time frame is in the past now...
