I was just screwing around in GTA online and got a notice that a friend has fumbled a heist. Not a standard looking text. It had a fancy orange neon border and I think pink writing that said:

__________________

[  HIS NAME              ]

[has fumbled a heist... ]

Now, I don't really know the guy, I just met him and helped him level up some. He was pretty good and requested me as a friend. And he won't respond about it. I asked him when it came up and the whole conversation went like this:

Me: the game just said you had a heist

Him: ok

Me: were you on one?

Him: ya

Me: how?

Me: how were you able to go on a heist? you a tester or something?

No response from there

Anybody got any insider info about this?

check his profile and see if anything might indicate him working with rockstar.

if you play on xbox compare games with him see if he has all of the rockstar games

It could be a mod menu, or maybe it's a Rockstar employee who accidentally went into a public match.

It's in single player, not GTA Online.

It's in single player, not GTA Online.

That makes the most sense. Didn't know there were people still playing the story line.

If he was really testing heights, he:

1) Wouldn't be Online on his own profile for it to show up like that

2) Wouldn't have answered your questions at all

Basically; it means nothing.

It's on PS3, he's only at level 4 (on PS3 rating, not GTA) and only rockstar games he has are 4 and 5.

Now, I'm starting to  think rockstar is just leading everyone on with the heists online in effort to make everyone buy those damn credit cards. AH-HA! That's the real heist they were talking about.

Yes it was in Singleplayer.

It's the message you get after the player completes the North Yankton Heist.

Nothing wrong with playing the storyline. Single Player is awesome. Getting into cop chases and just messing around without other players screwing with you. Don't get me wrong, Online is great, but Single Player is great too.

I have received the same message, it's just single player. But based on the new info leaked about the heists (PvP, over 16 players) it wouldn't surprise me if they only release them on ps4/XBox1 since I can't recall having over 16 people in a room on any game on the old systems

It's notification for the Vangelico heist...

Same applies to all other SP heist like the Paleto Bay heist says something like "RentedH1tm4nBen was a big (something) in the Paleto Bay chicken festival."

This.

Also you can see other updates in the same "fancy text" since the game came out, indicating various things from single player..

Like if your friend has completed 25 stunt jumps.

yeah, I just played some SP yesterday and it's like a different game entirely

everything from the amounts of traffic and peds to the damage system and cops works differently enough to really make an impact on how the game plays.

lot of times I was just driving around in MP but I've found SP is a lot more fun if you just want to race trough traffic or play with the cops.

you never been in a public free roam lobby?

or a race?

or TDM?

granted actually getting 16 players in a lobby untill the game starts is a challenge but there's plenty of 16 player jobs out there.

2 weeks later trailer one was announced.

The dev never came online or replied again :(

Doesn't mean anything ,he wouldn't have even said "yes", as he would be under a confidentiality agreement and wouldn't be using his private home account.

Zwenkwiel: you must have misread my post, I said OVER 16 players. The latest heist details show one where you have 4 crew members and up to 16 can join as cops in a PvP type heist. I'm no math major but 4+16=20 and right now gta can't support players in a room
