Well after going to my uncles funeral today and seeing how such an amazing person with such an amazing life can die so unexpectedly, I've been thinking...life's too damn short and when I die I want people to look back on my life and see my success. So a few things I like to achieve are...

1. Find someone I can spend my life with: I know i'm awkward and there's people way better than me in this world, but i'm hoping I somehow come across the right person that could love me for who I am and see past my flaws. Recently I thought I found that person, but obviously i'm just way too young and naive...I wont fall so easily in the future. Once i'm a little bit older I know it could be possible to find this special person. Right now i'm just a dumb teenager, surrounded by other dumb teenagers that don't really know true love (God I sound like such a dork)

2. Get married/Start a family: I know this sounds so cliche and typical, but yeah i'm just corny like that. Just seeing how other people can create and raise nice families, I just wanna be able to experience that. I wanna be able to pass on my legacy, you know? Basically I wanna be like my grandpa. He created such a beautiful family. He has so many people that love him, so many children and grandchildren...and great grandchildren (Big Mexican families, I love 'em  :D  :^: )

3. Travel the world: I know this is also very cliche, but it sounds amazing. All my life I've never stepped foot out of America. I wanna see the world and all its different cultures. America can get very dull, especially since the only states I've ever been to are California, Nevada and Arizona (Don't get me wrong, I love living in California...Its my home and my hearts here, but I've basically been living in a desert my whole life. I'd like to experience different climates, its so dry here...)

4. Have crazy experiences and amazing stories to tell: I just wanna do crazy stuff. Stuff that people will marvel over and be inspired by after i'm dead. I don't want people to see my life as plain an boring. What kind of legacy is that?

5. Have sex: This sounds immature. At the very least, if I don't find someone special and live a miserable lonely life, I at least wanna have sex once. I mean everyone has to experience that before they die.

6. Be liked by people: I'm not the most outgoing, the craziest, etc...But I just wanna make peace with everyone. I really don't like to have enemies. I don't wanna be hated. I just wanna be respected for who I am. I'm a pretty accepting person, I like individuality. I'll respect you if you respect me.

Well to be honest I really don't know what else to say. I don't care about being the richest person, I don't need high status in society to make me happy. I just want some good friends, good times, love, and that's pretty much all i'm asking for. You don't need much more.

  1. Earn a career that interests me and eventually brings in more than a $70k annual salary.
  2. Own an Audi S5 or S6 at some point in my life.
  3. Go on a long trip from New York to San Francisco, then from there to the 17-Mile-Drive near Monterey and then down to Los Angeles via Highway 1/ the Pacific Coast Highway.
  4. Visit Europe: see the Nürburgring, the French Riviera and Venice, Italy (even though I've heard that it smells really bad down there).
  5. Drive on most of my country's scenic byways whilst recording the journeys via gopro.
  6. Own a nice house in Stone Oak with lots of windows and views.
  7. Learn to cook professionally

I'll edit in some more later.

1. Study at University, and leave with a Masters Degree in Screenwriting for TV and Film.

It's a goal I've wanted to do for a while now, and I'm all set up to study in September. It's part of a bigger goal really, as writing, reading, reading screenplays, and being creative are big things in my life. I'd have pulled the trigger long ago if I knew that writing/creating/directing stories wasn't the thing I wanted to do. It's a big step for me to want to actually take it seriously, and actually get my arse into gear about being taken seriously.

2. Write a half-decent novel.

There's a saying that 'everybody has one decent novel within them' and I guess I'll push the limits by saying wanting to write for living, means I'll throw out more than one--hopefully--with the best intention, not for money, but for self-worth. I guess when I can get to a point where I have the time to write it properly (that isn't to say I don't micro-write, and churn out words whenever I can) I'll be much happier.

3. Screenwrite or direct a movie.

The Empire State of goals, one which I wouldn't agree that I've made it in my career, until I can sit down with somebody well-known; Ridley Scott, Cameron, Jim Carrey, Emma Stone--Anybody famous with a creative aspect towards the movie. I guess I'll know then, when I can help great creative people with so much as one iota of what they can do, I'll accept I've made the best of what I have.

4. Get in shape.

A very shallow endeavour, I'm sure. But the fact is, I've never been in great shape. I'm not what you'd call a gorger, or an obese fatf*ck who loves lard and cake, but I'm not what you'd call a chiseled perfection. I'd like to get in shape for my own sake, really. The healthiness aspect is the big kicker here, and I'd like to know I took care of my body as well as I could until I finally kick the proverbial bucket. And I don't want it to be a bucket full of f*cking lard.

5. Learn a martial art.

Ugh. The amount of times I've tried to learn one, and have been taken over by the lesser forms of recreation in my young days. Learning Krav Maga has been a goal on my list for a year now, and the only reason I haven't learnt it, is my financial situation is, what you would call, absolutely f*cking sh*t. Anyway, this is something I want to do.

6. Learn Parkour.

An extension of number five. I used to be great at it, and it was one of the best things for releases for me. I didn't smoke, I barely drank--but going out, running, and jumping, and keeping flow was something that felt great. It was just something I knew I loved to do. Then girls came into the picture and my life spiralled out of control. But wanting to re-learn this, for health and for the fact it's something I've loved for years, is all the more reason it's a big thing on my list.

7. Find The One.

I'm with a girl I love very much, so don't misconstrue the fact I've yet to find the One. She very well could be, but life has a funny way of f*cking you when you're passed out, and so regardless, I guess I want to confirm she is, or find the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. Who doesn't?

8. Become a successful writer

Self-explanatory, if you know me, you'll know it's something I work hard to be--novel or screenplays, whatever the weather.

9. Swim with whales, and other beautiful beasts of the ocean.

There's something that appeals to me, you see all these National Geographic photographers, and they literally have one of the greatest jobs in the world. It's something magical, being so close to these huge creatures--Seals, whales, and anything. I'd love to be down there with a Great White Shark, or anything. It's something I know I want to do.

10. Make other peoples lives worth living.

I'd like to know that I can do something for other people. If I'm blessed enough to become successful at what I want, I'd like the chance to be able to fix other's problems. If I can use my job or my wealth to make others happy. I'll die happier, knowing I worked towards something important.

GunWrath - Judging by your list man, you'd be one hell of a dude to party with. Rock on! Really hope you get your pornographic film out there! I'm sure Gibson would like it too. One thing for sure though, gigglesh*ts Admiral will be close by, watch out.

RiaJay21 - Well thought out list, I respect that. For your #7, "get driving", that one I can relate to a bit. I use to be quite nervous when having to drive. But the more you practice the more you become comfortable with it. Especially once you pass your test and are able to drive on your own, it's a lot better than having a nagging parent in the car with ya.

I'veGotNoValues - Man, that's another list I can respect right there, even if you only have 6. Funny thing is though, I'd do anything to be able to move down to any of those 3 states you mentioned. I really see where you're coming from with #'s 4 and 6 though. I feel identical to how you described it. Best of luck to you kind sir.

Ziggy455 - Very good list you got there. I can't really compare to much on your list besides maybe #9. That one sounds pretty thrilling. You seem like an intelligent guy though and as long as keep at it, I'm sure you'll find success somewhere in the field of writing.

These all seem a bit cliche' but oh well.

1. Have a successful job that i like ex Journalism, i would love to make my own income doing things i love and writing and reading, i feel reading about new things are so interesting to learn and trying new experiences with that knowledge.

2. Travel, yes i would love to travel to America, Australia is nice and all but just a different part of the world would be so nice to live in preferably California.

3. Meet a beautiful girl and spend the rest of my life with them, i have girls, but they just don't interest me, i just want to share myself with the one person that i love and can share my life with them.

4. Have a family, yeah its cliche, but its also a great and beautiful thing, i cannot wait to have my own with the person i want to spend the rest of my life with and watch them grow up , taking them to school for the first time and even have the annoying moments where they fight over stupid things like who is taking

mum or dads BMW or Mercedes to school or whatever and then watching them maybe have grandchildren and have a big happy family(hopefully).

5. Own a small collection of vehicles, yes i would love to own a small collection of new and old collection cars full of childhood and my own cars appreciating them in the garage.

6.own a nice house, not only my vehicles but i really would love to own a house that is victorian or georgian  in a prestigious area with beautiful sheets of wood or an old round grand staircase with a beautiful older hand made furniture making it up to the Grand master bedroom with park views and a beautiful graphite and Sand Stone pool with an alfresco area seeing and showing old meets modern.

this is only 6 but all i can think of atm

7.Keep in touch with old friends and family, seeing and spending time with people i haven't seen in years or spending time with friends from high school, it would be a nice feeling but it probably isn't going to happen.

this is only 7 but all i can think of atm.

10. Write a book series I've had in my head for the past 3 years

Start writing it right now. Don't convince yourself that you'll get the talent to transform thought into words without actually taking the time to write stories. You only become a writer by writing-- start writing.

True story:  I didn't expect to live this long so I had a short and achievable list which I have already completed.  Even though the world didn't kill itself (and all within) like I had anticipated - I'm surprised I made it through my fast and hard times.  No regrets.

I'm pretty much just coasting at this point.

My list now just consists of making it to retirement and moving to some place a bit more relaxed and semi quiet...with a bit more land to walk barefoot on.

1. Find the one that I love so much that I need to be chained to the ground to keep from flying away

2. Get married

3. Have children

4. Retire from the Air Force

5. Not get killed in TACP

6. Move to a small town in a country and become a farmer, preferably with 1, 2 and 3 already done.

7. Have everyone in said small town know my name, I know theirs, and be involved.

8. Save a life, or more if possible.

9. Stop a bank robbery.

10. Be remembered after I die. (Not really a thing to acheive before I die, but hopefully something I do acheive will lead to this. Whatever.)

I find it astounding that some people want mansions in Beverly Hills with a 20 car garage filled to the brim with expensive vehicles and private jets and the rich flashy celebrity life. I just want to live a simple life; to care for others and be cared for.

Achieving immortality to render hoping to do 10 things before death useless. Imagine if I actually lived forever? Centuries and millennia from now I would still be a GTA IV fanboy and tell the people of the time it's still the best GTA ever made.

1. Achieve millionaire status, not because I worship money or I think money brings happiness. But because I can use my money to help people people personally rather than just giving to charities. I want to change something in this world and money creates more opportunities to do so.

2. Travel to at all 7 continents of the globe. Travel is important to me and I think its a wonderful thing, when I travel I don't want it to be in a 5* hotel all the time. I want to take in the history of a place from the perspective of the natives of that place not some tourist eating McDonald's.

3. Start my own business. Not just any business but a business that is profitable for me and investors but a business that also uses its wealth to change the world and fund what I want to do to help the world.

4. Be a better dad than my dad is. He is not the worse dad in the world, nor the best. I just want to give my children the best opportunities in life and teach them the things I'm learning as I travel this path which is life.

5. Meet a woman who I can achieve great things with. I want a woman who not only pleases me emotionally and sexually but one who I can conquer anything with, bring change with and more importantly has the ambition that I do.

6. Buy my parents a big house. This has been a dream of mine, its unlikely to happen as my parents are quite old and I'm still quite young, but none the less I hope it happens one day, I just want to give a little back and prove to them that out of all my siblings, they done the best job with me.

7. Stay humble. I never want to forget where I come from and never think I'm better than people, even if I do achieve all the great things I want to achieve in my life I want to keep relatively humble and always look at myself within the context of this giant spinning ball of rock that we all live on.

8. Be the exception. As much as I want to stay humble I want to be the exception, I want to achieve things in life that should never have been achievable by someone from my socio-economic background and other things that are 'set backs' to achieving what I want to achieve.

9. Teach people something. I want to make sure that I share my knowledge with others not necessarily in a formal education setting but rather in the real world. I want to teach things that matter rather than teach things that are just designed to get you a job so you can make others rich.

10. Never stop learning. I don't want to reach a point in my life where I think "Okay I've done it all now, let me just relax" of course there are times to relax but these people who 'retire' not just from there jobs but expanding their minds are missing so many opportunities to grow, whether it be economically, culturally or in any other way.

I don't really bother making a "top-10" list,

but, one of the things I'd like to achieve is being happy about life in general. Being "rich", and not in the material way.

Well yeah, I have some other dreams such as visiting Japan someday, getting a motorcycle and such (Honda Rebel would be a sweet bike),

but to be happy about life is what I'd like to achieve. I'm very proud and somewhat amazed about all the cool stuff

I know and am interested in, though. I've always taken good care of others and animals alike (and continue

on doing so), so I hope to become satisfied about myself too and start really taking care of myself.

I've actually started that process out now.

Oh, and I want to stay always interested and try out everything new. To keep the positive life attitude.

Enjoy this damn thing while it lasts. Hopefully the next 30 or + years - that's what I'm aiming at.

edit: and start reading Stephen King's books more! :pp

I have always joked about owning a farm my entire life, but deep deep down I would love that. Right on.

Really good top 10. Seeing as what you have written here you seem just genuine kinda guy. I wish you the best of luck on achieving these goals.

Thanks man, I can really relate to some of the things in your top 10, I wish you the best! Great thread idea by the way, its never been done that I know of.

Become immortal

Would you really want that? That must be a terrible thing to wish on yourself or onto others.

You would watch everyone around you die. Those who you love, those who you knew, those you heard about, those you've seen on the television, and more.

Unless you find a way to remove the need for companionship from your mind, or find a companion that is also immortal (be it pet, friend, lover, family member, etc), you'd quickly succumb to insanity and would constantly be trying to find a way to kill yourself (and by "quickly" I mean "over the course of a couple hundred years").

In my opinion, eternal rest, or an afterlife where everyone is in a frozen age state where they stay how you remember them the best (your grandma will still be old, way out of her prime, which is where she would want to be, but she'd be old because that's how you prefer to remember her as) but everyone would also be in optimal health would be the best kinds of eternal lasting. Everyone gets their own afterlife setting.

I'm going to go start a new topic real quick...

And what about when the world inevitably ends, from whatever crazy apocalypse, such as the world being hit by a giant asteroid and blowing up into pieces. I mean, what are you gonna do? Live the rest of your life insane on a floating chunk of Earth? And it's not like you can kill yourself when you get bored. You can sit there and hit yourself in the head with a chunk of rock, but that wouldn't do any good now would it?

On topic:

10. Think of a good one for number ten.

I've done some cool stuff so far. Mostly my goals involve travel and experiencing the world.. but there's one odd one, it seems sort of childish, but I really just want to meet Michael Jordan. Have a brief moment of back and forth chit chat. if I could even handle it. I would more than likely lose my ****. I can't think of too many people that I'd be star struck by but that wouldn't even be the correct phrase for it. I would probably cry.. and I'm a grown ass man hah.

Only one:

The complete eradication of all emotional ties.

'Tis a feat that I expect will go along with more than one hitch.
