Traditional GTA, because it's what the game was built around, and also it's not a proper shooter game so I can't be bothered to aim properly, especially when the AI has loads of BS advantages over you.

Lock on because for me this game needs to be away from COD and battle field, its more of a fun game than try hard aiming.

Traditional GTA. I don't bother switching because I don't feel like it. And because FA lobbies are usually dead.

GTA has always been the lock-on aiming kind of game, and the AI has BS accuracy, so why shouldn't we?

So how does that logic apply, at all, when you're facing another player?

Both.  I use lock on for my rifles in some jobs, but my weapon of choice is the heavy sniper, which is a free aim.

Lock-On (GTA), assisted aim sounds more like an aimbot.

I honestly prefer Free Aim because not just any random noob can kill you with an uzi when you're driving by at 120 mph, but I use Traditional Aim because Free Aim sessions are dead and I can never find anyone doing jobs in FA. I find more people in GTA IV/TBOGT multiplayer than I do in GTA Online Free Aim sessions lol.

Because when you're facing another player, you both have the same aiming mode, so it doesn't change anything.

Auto aim is more of a challenge because anyone can kill you, not so much in FA.

Traditional GTA , I used to love free aim but now the disadvantages are starting to outweigh the advantages.

Pros:

-friendlier lobbies

-getting kills require skill

-most players have experience

Cons:

-missions take longer to complete

-empty lobbies

-the trolls in free aim are terrible.

-none of my crew members(IGN)/online friends use free aim

Free aim.

I'm in a free aim only crew so I never struggle to find full lobbies.

What this guy said.

Also, I can shoot NPCs hiding behind bushes or in the darkness with AA.

FA because I can drive around or ride a motorcycle without worrying about someone stood on the sidewalk locking onto me while I'm driving at full speed.

Most of my crew play FA too so empty lobbies aren't a problem.

NPCs with their AA is kind of a bitch but you get used to it and learn to use cover more efficiently.

can someone explain the difference between AA & TA?

I played the SP on whatever aim was default, but I know online I spend most of my time in AA. not sure if I started that way, or if that's what my friends were playing so I switched.

I think that assisted aim is the same as free aim, except when your crosshair goes over an enemy, your aiming sensitivity decreases to make it easier to aim more precisely. This the default style of most FPS like Halo, Battlefield, Call of Duty etc.

I prefer Assisted Aim. Reminds me of Red Dead, whilst still keeping that GTA feel too... (not to mention my friends would kill me if I switched)

Also, last time I checked (months ago, mind you), Traditional Aim is only in singleplayer, isn't it?

I could've sworn that when switching to online, it makes the default assisted aim if you had traditional activated...
