Moto G. Under £100 and should run it fine.

HTC One M8. Fairly new, high-end, right now there's a deal for £28 a month and it's unmatchable. :^:

I don't know how paying about £480 over two years could ever be considered "cheap" for a phone.

that's nothing, some phones are as much as £42 a month, personally I think £28 a month is a decent offer.

It's not a decent offer when an effectively unlimited SIM-only deal is about £10 a month. Or when a phone that will happily run the Android GTA games can be had for under £100.

Price of a phone contract ≠ price of a phone. The OP asked for a cheap phone; however you look at it an HTC One isn't a cheap phone, even if one particular contract plan for it is reasonably good value for money. Tying yourself into a two-year contract spending £30+ a month, quite often over the RRP of the phone, to end up with an old handset worth pretty much nothing at the end always struck me as a very strange way of doing things. Buying the unlocked handset and a cheap SIM-only contract is almost always cheaper.

There's cheaper (and easier) options but if you can get an invite you can buy the OnePlus One. Costs £269 for the 64GB model off contract, then again I don't think you can get it on contract, and it has flagship specs. Not all that easy to obtain ATM but the price to performance is insane.

Problem is that the OnePlus One is borderline vapourware. Tens of thousands of orders and to my knowledge the only ones that have actually made it into Europe and the US are the ones sent to reviewers.

Well I got a Micromax Unite A106 today, although Micromax is an Indian company so I'm not sure if it ships in other countries. But it's a damn good phone with about the same specs as the Moto G but at a lesser price. (At least in India)

Galaxy S2. Super cheap now and extremely versatile. I'd call it the "240sx" of cell phones honestly. Hard to destroy, looks good for how old it is, still a great performer, and easy to find replacement parts.

Moto G.

There's the cheaper Moto E but I don't know if it can play the GTA games in the Play store.

You can easily get it for £100 and then you just pay £10 a month for your calls/txt/data. You seriously aren't gonna get any better than that (unless ofcourse the Moto E supports the games).

The moto g isn't the fastest phone out obviously but it is by no means slow. I've had mine for about 7 months now. It does everything just as good as the S4/5S (have owned both). the only thing is the camera isn't the greatest. the one i have hasn't got SD/4G support but there is a newer model out which supports these (Moto G 4G).

As long as motorola makes phones like this I won't be paying hundreds of £ for a smartphone again. can't believe i payed £500-600 for iphones over the years.

Thanks for your replys, Moto G seams to be a very nice phone for a resonable price and i might go with that but i saw youtube clips showing very poor GTA SA performance on them, did some of you try to run SA on this phone ? Clips showing the same game played on Galaxy 2 look and runs better

I still preffer moto (my first phone was motorola and i dont like samsung design ) But i realy want to play GTA SA on the go

So can Moto G handle gta sa ? and what about other apps and games ?
