Unless that's his plan, I don't think that he'll remove Alderney as it'll cause problems with the storyline and other gameplay stuff, pretty sure this is just an add-on, not a replacement.

 

Liberty City and Alderney, well, the entire original map should be left intact because of many reasons, one being the multiplayer(i really don't want an another IV:SA type of failure in multiplayer) and the other is that it's impractical to upload huge original files from the game itself that Rockstar Games have created.

 

Anyway, i've made a map idea schematic...

 

 

It's very hard and in some cases impossible to be totally correct geographically, not to mention in capacity of the map due to the given space that i'm working with(there's not a lot of free space to build new maps with Liberty City being in the center of the game's world!), but i think this would be fine enough for the game anyway... 

 

Here, take a look at my idea for the map:

Stroked borders indicate the approximate space that it would take up in the game.

 

 

 

 

Yes, Carcer City is way too small, but there's no other way to fit everything in the same map and i'm just 1 guy after all, so working on a HD city with a huge size that it's supposed to have is just a fiction of an achievement for me.

 

That's why it would be nice if there were some more knowledgeable people interested in this map to help me out in building it

You could swap the locations of the Carraways & the Catskills seeing as the Hamptons (Carraways) are part of Long Island, as are Brooklyn & Queens (Broker & Dukes). Just a thought, though.

Hah, funny you should say that, because i kept thinking if i should've left Catskills further up to the west and put the Catskills further up east myself - that is how i started to "draw this schematic"(and in the beginning of my "schematic drawing" it was positioned how you wanted it, but then i swapped them xD), guess i made a wrong decision to swap the 2 of the map parts.

 

I'm sorry, i just wasn't sure about their positionings.

 

 

EDIT: Fixed it(well, i at least tried to!)

I began the new map development, the picture below shows my current progress on Adirondacks mountains' based island which should be placed north-west of Liberty City, as shown in my concept image for the map from my last post.

Yes, it's Cityscape because it's faster to make a map with it than to use 3ds Max alone.

 

Maybe place some abandoned houses in Carcer, and some dead bodies inside? :D

 

About Carcer, idk yet, i started some road layouts for it in 3ds Max, but that's about it

Yep, you read my mind. It will probably connected by a very long bridge such as this one in Florida Keys!

Since the current island i'm working on is the one with supposed Adirondacks mountains, Carcer City will have the bridge roads coming from that island and have it connected in the north-east

Well, what purpose would interiors serve on the map? Y'know, i always wanted to make a big mall with interior, so perhaps i'll make that and 1 interior for a safehouse maybe... idk yet, it's too far off to think about now!

Ofcourse it's good for that, that's how i got the sense of it anyway.

 

Those map layout plan images i posted on this page show some of the pictures from Google Earth and they are linked by color to their respective area counterparts.

Bulworth would work maybe if it was north of LC as i placed Carcer, so is it?

 

I don't know what it's based off of.... and also, i'm not stopping you from drawing your own version of the map sketch/layout for this mod.

I know Bullworth's is in one of the New England states and I know New York isn't part of New England. It'd be cool to see Bullworth in IV, though, or at least the interior of the school which could be reused.

Well, i believe my position is somewhat acceptable of Carcer City, where it is now. 

 

I consider Carcer City a  Detroit remake, which is a Rust Belt city located north-west of NYC

 

I put Adirondacks north-west because i couldn't really get the setting to feel right there and i'm dealing with game boundaries, so yeah just try to deal with it

 

 

 

 

Also, i am pretty sure i said that i know it's not 100% geographically accurate, hell, not even 80%, but it's better than nothing in my opinion

I was never really sure what Carcer City is based on. I had my money on Boston, as they make out that it isn't that far from LC, however the GTA universe is scaled down. I also thought that it could be Chicago as it is the 3rd largest city in the US, considered a rust belt city, and hasn't been in a GTA game. But I don't think there is room for another city as it would be right up against LC. Chicago is a little far from New York to do that and you could squeeze a small city based off of Boston and call it Carcer city, but it would have to be right up against Liberty City if its going to be a decent size.

 

In the 3D era, I'm willing to bet that its like GTA III's LC, where it is loosely based on multiple cities, but if Rockstar does do it in the HD era, it will ether be Boston, Chicago, or Detroit, but probably Chicago as it is the next largest city after New York and Los Angles.

 

But unless your able to hack the map boundaries, I wouldn't do another whole city, but a small town.

 

Also, I came up with an amazing idea. You could have a train line that runs around the country side, and it goes under Algonquin in a subway tunnel. Under Algonquin, it stops at Grand Easton Station (Grand Central Station). Then there would be the interior of Grand Central Station, modified to be Grand Easton Station. Only modifications you would have to do to the original LC is remove the doors on the exterior, and remove the wall in the Easton Station subway station hallway that links the two existing train lines. I think this is an excellent idea, and this is definitely a interior that I wished GTA IV had.
