Application managed AA and anisotropic filtering

ATI control center allows me to set AA up to 8x and anisotropic filtering up to 16x. I can also adjust mipmapping level.

Now my question is this: by default AA and anisotropic filtering are set to application managed in ATI. But is it better to force AA  and anisotropic filtering, or not? In game I already use high textures and 16x anisotropic filtering.
