Nope, it's a nesting place for nostalgic old sods like me who are fans of GTA IV.

Don't click on the thread if it annoys you, dude.

If this thread is just for fun then it's fine.

Just don't go to deep into nitpicking is all I'm saying. It's already been done a bit though.

Chill out Bucky.

Who are you to tell me to "chill?"

It is called preferences friend,

No s&^t, Sherlock. I haven't said anything to make you think otherwise.

we all respect you prefering V

I've yet to see such respect.

Just respect everyone's thoughts shared here too

All I've seen is subjective beliefs posted as though they were the gospel. It comes off as a bunch of fanboys moaning rather than intelligent people trying to have a discussion on why they prefer one game over the other.

i have you know that i disagree with this

Again, no s$&t. Why would you be responding to me in such a manner if you didn't? I don't care if you agree or disagree.
I see you are too hostile towards my reply, and there is absolutely no reason for that.
As i stated before, i respect your opinions, and was hoping you respected everyone elses.
Looks like i hit a nerve here.. what manner? The respectful one? Thats the only thing ive meant to say.
Chill out means to calm down, this forums are here to share opinions. I understand yours, why cant you just do the same, without being so aggressive?

No one here is treating you like this, there is no reason for being hostile and disrespectful.

EDIT:

Lets try having an intelligent discussion then brother, we re here for this.

Considering you can barely type English, I'm guessing that you've misread my post. Don't try to debate anyone who doesn't speak your native language unless you have a good grasp of it.

I'm not being hostile. You're reading my post as such. Try not assuming that anyone who disagrees with you is upset. After all, this is all text based. Any emotion you read is from your own mind, not mine.

Bucky
You are right, english are not my native language, and i aint that good with it. Just good enough to make myself clear. It just makes even harder texting via mobile phone. If you are saying to not debate with anyone who doesnt speak my native brazillian portuguese tho, i wont. Perfect spelling and good grammar in another language isnt mandatory to me.
I just have shared my opinions, no need to accept it, nor understand.

Nevermind. If you didnt care about other peoples opinions, how DO you want to have an intelligent discussion? Once again, we re all here for this.
Fixed. Hope its clear now.

Please, let us not extend this conversation, it aint taking us anywere. We have different opinions, and i respect yours.

I do like the garage where you can exchange cars for money, the dark atmosphere that came close to replicating III, and the open world despite the small map.

Now I kinda regret trading it in. I liked playing the post-story mode, open world a lot, but I grew bored after a while. I can play V for hours. If there was more to do, I'd kept IV.

105. When you die in GTA Race you respawn with a faggio.

Sorry but that feature is sh*t. It becomes too easy to win then, especially if the race is started with Supercars. Would have been better if people respawned with their cars, would have been more fun.

Thats a fair point. It does make for a significant different game dynamic. The reason I actually appreciate this feature is that some of the best moments have been coming back and winning on a faggio. In races in V i just feel more indifferent to winning or losing, catchup makes it all a bit random.

You can pick up a pre-owned copy fairly cheap nowadays. To be perfectly fair I understand why most people don't like  GTA IV. Personally most of what people don't like is what I do.

I also don't find post-story to be as bad as what most people say. On my most recent playthrough (which was about two months ago) I actually played it longer after the story than the first time I finished GTA V and I still hadn't completed everything I wanted.

For me GTA IV has impeccable replay value. It's the only game in the series I still play on a regular basis.

I completely agree of what others have said so far.

138. Swing set glitch

Also what I find with IV better than V, is the known swing glitch in Dukes and Alderney. Just messing around in LC either on Single Player or Free Mode/Party Mode with the other players and getting in a car or van and without knowing when you do arrive at the swing set of where you will end up. Sometimes just a few feet backwards with the tyres screeching, either being catapulted into the building that overlooks the swing set, catapulted into the park of Broker/Dukes near the Spray 'n' Pay, either catapulted to the bus stop next to the swing set (Ah, my stop. :lol: ), or sent flying into the air and crash landing on the railway/metro tracks, or where ever, or how many times there is to being catapulted or sent flying into the air by a simple innocent looking swing set in a suburbia of LC.

Also what I think about IV better than V in my opinion. Is just LC itself, despite the levels resetted on Multiplayer, (still annoyed about that, but nevermind) is the endless fun without being deafened by headsets balring down in the game if a car or motorbike etc gets destroyed either by gun fire or the classic RPG frenzy that some still opt for to create good ol' fun. Not all are like this, but the many who either roll play or the ones who just want to have a laugh playing Free Mode.

Sorry about the long post

140. Police Dispatcher Radio

In GTA V, the dispatcher always says "We have a 5 on 5", which is the same as the 3D games, where every crime you did was a "10-24". In GTA IV however, every crime you did and where you did it was said on the dispatch. It would sound something "We have a fire and attack on an officer on Columbus Avenue. Dispatch 3 units to Lancet." Little thing, i know, but it's just another straw that makes IV better. There were also a few special ones, like when you rob the Bank of Liberty in Three Leaf Clover, kill Goldberg during Final Interview and check the FIB sting setup site littlelacysurprisepageant.com. "We have a sexual deviant trying to access explicit images. Dispatch an FIB team to..."

Little things add up, my friends.

* MUCH better story, was well written, very interesting and exciting.

* Longer story and game length.

* MUCH better protagonist(s) and characters.

* Was centered around organized crime and gangs, not the f*cking feds and government agents.

* Was focused primarily on single player and not online/multiplayer.

* Liberty City feels more full of life and vibrancy.

* Liberty City has much more interiors, including restaurants and bars, and thus had better immersion.

* A decent amount of crime related side missions and MUCH better ones too.

* Armed back-up/bodyguard ability.

* Better driving and handling of cars.

* Better gunshot sounds.

* Glock Pistol.

* Black guns are actually black in color.

* Gang members carry more than just pistols, also carry SMGs, AK's, and shotguns.

* Dating.

* Ability to crouch.

Another thing about Single Player in IV, despite some interiors being rather familiar than the building that you have might have visited before. Is just the endless amount of possible hiding places in both SP and MP. For example little things like small walls, or the big dumbsters (i think thats how you pronounce it) and waiting for another player to pass by or a police officer, and waiting to open fire on the unexpected player or passersby who doesn't see you waiting there until the last second. Or maybe on the Motorway/Highway, and hiding behind a billboard over looking the road with a sniper rifle or a long range weapon sitting there to snipe the players on MP, no matter how long it takes.

Maybe that is why I can't stop playing IV SP/MP against V Online. More interesting too I think. Might need to do this more often whenever on Free Mode. Such fun.

Now I don't know why, but whenever I do this in GTA IV, I always get a tune in my head, like a stealthy tune, and waiting for the prey to come into view.
