Should the Warrener be an Annis (GTA's Nissan) instead of Vulcan?

Yep.

I bet they only chose Vulcar because it sounded better.

I think Vulcar is supposed to be a Volvo or something but looks hardly anything like it and even the dispatcher calls it an Annis.

Yes. I mean, Vulcar? Really? The only Vulcar I really know of in GTA 5 is the Vulcar Ingot.

It's hard for me to agree that it doesn't look anything like it. It's more of a mash up of both cars, with the mods really turning it into the Skyline.

In the end though, it's GTA, and fictional automobile makers. Who's to say Anis really made one car or another? We all don't live in a real GTA world (thank God), so it shouldn't really matter.

You guys realize R* does stuff like this on purpose. They made a Skyline GTR fall under the Volvo brand in game, its actually funny to me.

Yes and no. While it does resemble the skyline 2400 it is also based off the Volvo 240 loosely.

Also it cpuld be a joke as the Nissan sold under Datsun so Annis is selling under Vulcar. I know its not the same but it could be a nod to it

When designing vehicles, R* tends to combine different features from different cars. It's possible that the Warrener is a Volvo with Nissan Skyline brake lights, just like how the Gauntlet is a Dodge Challenger with Chevy Camaro brake lights.

the mods are heavily based on what the japanese do to the skyline though. I think they're just trolling us

It does puzzle me why R* would plonk it under the Swedish 'Vulcar' brand (and advertise it as such), ...and then load it with distinctly Japanese-themed (or even specifically Skyline-themed) upgrades, like the Grachan stuff.

Personal theory is that it's a bit of legal ass-covering on R*'s part - if Nissan comes knocking, asking why there's something that's 99% Skyline in a game with supposedly no licensed vehicles, they can point to the in-game flavour text and say "um, err, no it isn't - look! It's made by 'Vulcar' - see, that's Swedish!"

(...or probably not - I have no idea.)

Whatever - like the Stratum being by 'Zirconium', I care not one whit. If it looks like a Skyline, that's good enough for me!

There is no Datsun counterpart and back when this car was made, Nissan would have sold it as a Datsun in the US when they were first transitioning into the North American market because if it didn't sell it wouldn't tarnish their name specifically. They never did market this Skyline in the US but this is what they did with the vehicles that they did market in the US at that time.

The funny thing is that the Warrener looks like a Skyline and the Ingot looks like a Stagea, but they're both listen under Vulcar.

The fact that it's been covered to death is why many people have already come to that conclusion.

Sorry, no. They call the Warrener "Swedish" in the car's description.

It's Volvo. (Just for reference: http://gta.wikia.com/Vulcar)

GTA.Wikia.com says that the "Police chatter identifies the car as an Annis vehicle, when in fact it is manufactured by Vulcar. This is likely a mistake, although Annis is notably based on Nissan, who manufactures the 1970 Nissan 2400GT on which the Warrener is based. This is possibly a reference to Nissan's sale of the 210 in the United States under the pseudonym of "Datsun" during the 1970s".

About time some finally accepted the fact that it's not Volkswagen.
