I'll just post this here because it's freakishly cool

This thing is just..... WTF

cymothoa_exigua_01.jpg

The tongue eating louse, a parasitic crustacean that enters a fish's mouth through the gills, then attaches itself onto the fish's tongue.

cymothoa_exigua_02.jpg

It extracts blood from the tongue using the claws on its legs, and before long the tongue disappears because of a lack of blood. Basically, the parasite then replaces the tongue by attaching its own body to the muscles of the tongue stub.

The fish can continue to use the parasite just like a normal tongue, and the parasite does not appear to cause any other damage to the fish.

I'd have to agree with Eagle strike. The Bald Eagle. The ultimate symbol of freedom. Second would have to be the great silverback gorilla, which was already posted as well.
