The problem with this line of thinking, at least IMO, is that, if they expand to 3, people will want 4... Then, if they expand to 4, people will want 5... It's never-ending cycle.
I'm not against the idea of owning more garages/apartments, but when is it enough? Some will say that you should be able to own every garage/apartment on the map simultaneously, which I think is a bit ridiculous. I dunno how much "strain" more properties/cars owned puts on the servers or cloud, but I'm guessing there's some sort of a limit.
This discussion was in another thread and someone had a pretty good idea, IMO. Instead of an owned property limit, have an owned car limit:
For example, you can own 20 cars currently. But, you'd have the option... You could own:
2 10-car apartments/garages
A 10-car apartment/garage, a 6-car apartment/garage and 2 2-car apartments/garages
A 10-car apartment/garage and 5 2-car apartments/garages
3 6-car apartments/garages and a 2-car apartment/garage
Any combination you want, just not exceeding 20 total garage spots. That would allow you to expand your "footprint" on Los Santos, so to speak, while giving everyone the same amount of cars that they are allowed to store.
I'd be in favor of bumping the total owned cars up to 30, if it involved this sort of implementation, due to it being an easier multiplier for the 6-car garages... But, I couldn't really see a reason for owning more than 30 cars at one time. Hell, I made a garage template in Excel, just so I can keep track of where the 20 I have on each character are.
