I seriously can't be the only one. I've heard cat noises whilst playing as Franklin a few times while running through alleyways, but there was nothing there. I know I'm not paranoid or anything, Those cat noises are definitely there, and I have heard them a few times throughout Los Santos. I'm not talking about Cougars, I'm talking about Domestic Cat noises, like meowing. Anyone else heard the noises too? And do you think that R* left the noises there on accident while removing them from the game? Do you think they were originally going to be in the PS3/360 versions? It seems to me that they took the cats out of the game either due to Hardware Limitations or they removed them entirely because they didn't think it would be that important. It's like the cats are invisible, like ghosts. You can walk through them, and you can't see them, but you can here them meowing. But there isn't anything there.

I've heard it too, I always thought it was just background noise. I've also heard other animals such as dogs barking when there's no dogs around, so it's probably just background noise.

"Meow"

Hey did you hear that? Sounds like there's a cat somewhere in this thread.

Like above said^ most likely BG noises to add to the immersion of life in the city.

Don't read too much into it OP

This reminds me of those Sprunk Factory noises in GTA IV, I always thought somebody was in there moving around. But it was probably just background noises to add immersion.

Yep, I've heard them too. I've heard them the most outside The Vanilla Unicorn at night. It usually sounds like cats hissing and then right after there's this bottle shattering noise, as if some cats are scrapping with each other. You can't actually find them, though. What you hear is just ambient sound effects.

Dogs could be heard barking in GTA IV, but they weren't physically in the game until GTA V. I figured that since cats could be heard in V but weren't physically there, we'd have to wait until GTA VI for them to actually appear. Turns out it looks like we'll be seeing them early in the PS4/XB1/PC versions of V.

I've played a good couple hundred hours of V and I've never, ever, heard anything that sounds equine or feline.

NEVER, EVER.

Never heard a single horse, but it smells like one may have wandered through this thread at some point.

Just heard it yesterday, or at least I didn't pay attention to it before. Pretty much just bg sfx though, the same as the skateboarding noises at Vespucci Beach.

I remember when I first heard those I was like: are you kidding? Skater NPCs?? I gotta take a look at them, now!!

Then I ran up to the pools and there was nothing. Also the sfx stopped immediately. It was like a ghost skater trolling me.

Well, there is a cat in the ps4 trailer, sooo I'm sure they didn't make the cut for the old gen version. Just a thought.

PS I hear dogs online all the time, but you know, no animals online.

of course they didn't include them because of software limitations they also didn't include rattle snakes and horse. and I am certain we will see them in the next gen version also

never heard a cat, but I saw a few mice or rats running in an alley.

Maybe they were running from the phantom cat?

Seriously did see rats running though.

The audio files of a cat in the background are possible to add to the sense of immersion. I;ve heard it many times and never see it either, could be a tease for the next gen.

Neigh you haven't.

I think that's just Lester using audio equipment to simulate the sound of a guard dog, to deter people from getting too close to his house. You'll notice all the 'Beware Guard Dogs' signs outside his house, but nothing inside to indicate he owns one & the barking sound is on an obvious loop.

It's just part of the ambient background "soundtrack".
For example you can hear dogs barking in the distance in GTA IV even though there are no dogs in that game.

Yes I have, it's part of the ambience, it's not an actual horse. Either I was just hearing things or you obviously haven't heard it yet.
