When you drive a bike and crash against a lamppost, losing your whole armor in the process. What has armor got to do with it?

"That armor never did anything to you!"

Yeah I kinda agree.  I mean you could argue that the armor was torn up defending your body in the process of falling, but.......

I suppose since armour has the job of protecting you from injury, smashing into the lamppost would be pretty damaging to the armour - it may well have saved you from certain death (or severe injury) and gets used up in the process.

Not really silly if you think about it. May well be worth finding out if it actually does protect you by smashing into said lamppost twice - once with armour, once without. See if there is any difference!

I always thought that armour should just be an extension on your health regardless of what way you lose it but yeah, I doesn't do sh*t in an unarmed death match...hmmm...I suppose bikers wear leather to protect them....I dunno

In any case, you lose armor way too quick. It does make a difference, but only very little.

Armor was useful in other games. I tend to barley use it in GTA V, as it runs to quick. Sure it may be useful in deathmatches, but in anything else the regenerating health is a life saver. Take good cover and you'll be good.

Thats your daily GTA Logic sir!. It's funny how you jump off a building and somehow survive the fall by protected armor.

I don't think GTA is the place to argue logic considering we can deposit physical cash thru our cell phones and carry hundreds of pounds of weapons and explosives in our back pockets lol.

I'm pretty sure in IV (maybe sa) you lost Health insted of Armour when crashing bikes and cars made/makes more sense Imo.

fine then, dont wear armor and die...

I like that I can slip on a nice comfy heavy armor and throw myself off a cliff and survive.

armor just takes up extra damage

it's basically extra health

doesn't really make sense I agree

would be better if it just decreased damage or something while slowly degrading

Man, I stopped wearing armour a long time ago. Yes, I get killed more quickly by cops, but it's only a fractional difference. The cop AI is still going to be dead-on, every time so it doesn't really matter. And as for other players, well, if I get killed by another player it's either my own fault, I was not paying attention, they are very good, or they got very lucky. It has nothing to do with armour.

The $2 snacks are much more useful for health points than the $500 armor

Yet, it doesn't help you in melee deathmatches at all. Broken logic.

Because it's a game and the armor adds to the overall damage your character can take, it also gets depleted before your health so that's the reason you lose armor when you hit a lamp post, maybe they'll change it and make it more realistic on next gen or current gen or whatever you want to call it.
