Hey fellow gtaforumers, I'm planning to travel alone 2 or 3 days to Amsterdam at some point this summer. So I was wondering what would you recommend me to do, visit and see there.

(Inb4 red district and cannabis)

Cheers.

I have a geek friend who is spending 1 year there, he's been in some music festivals there and loved it.

I'm sorry dude but it's not the same if you don't drive a Manta.

Thanks :)

Oh, it's no problem. Dude doesn't smoke bud, and is not the least bit interested in the bordellos, so I can assure you he'll be able to help ya get where you want to. I'll hopefully be able to speak to him tomorrow.

DA BITCHEZ!

Honestly, there are many things that I would do in Amsterdam, however, beforehand, I would search for some tourism related information in Wikipedia or other sites, then I would give a brief look at the places I would like to visit there through Google Maps, then I would wake up from my dream and realise that I can barely go to the bakery in the corner to buy something to eat due to the lack of money.

I suggest you to go shopping. In the Netherlands prices are lower than in your country.

PS Enjoy!

Anne Frank House, Rembrandthouse,, Vondelpark, Museumplein, Dam Square, Leidseplein, If you want to enter the ''Ghetto'' go to Bijlmer. The thing I like most in my city is cruising around with a boat through the canals. Its so relaxing

Architecture. Just wander around and admire the old buildings.

-and leave cameras at home. They just get in the way of seeing what is really there.

Just wandering around Amsterdam is cool enough but the big museum- the Rijksmuseum - is brilliant, there's also a really good zoo with a massive polar bear.

Chilling out in the Jordaan district is a must - got a Greenwich Village feel to it. The flower market is brilliant too - just for all the colours and smells and at the weekend there's also a pretty cool antiques market that's worth a browse. Take a canal tour - well worth the money as you get to see bits of the city you probably wouldn't see just walking around.

It's a great city - enjoy

Also, find a karaoke bar. They're fun there.

All that's been mentioned above and the Van Gogh museum too is a must. It's amazing how stunning his original canvases look compared to the countless prints you'll have seen of them over the years.
( a little bit of weed will greatly increase your appreciation of this too)

Just buy a frikandel when you're there, you'll be fine then.

As for Dutch museums, you HAVE to go to the Amsterdam Dungeon,

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • What is pain and punishment Dungeon’s style?
  • What are the tricks of the trade?
  • What do your insides look like?

It's funny stuff and the actors are great.

I was in Amsterdam for 4 days and 4 nights, saw mostly weed and hookers, i did go to the zoo though, which is pretty good, some decent coffee shops nearby also.

Just walking around looking for the next coffee shop provided enough sight seeing.

Not really. The cost of living in the Netherlands is similar to that of your country. Food and clothes prices are similar, but drinks at bars are a little bit more expensive. A Swiss friend of mine who lives in your country travels to Netherlands once a year only to buy cheaper. He buys a lot of things, even furniture!
