What is the madness with people who all over sudden want to upgrade the GPU to one the same generation....

There is a smaller difference between Medium and Ultra, let alone High and Ultra, than people mostly think as well.

I will have to disagree on your statement that the difference between medium and ultra is small. I have played several graphic intensive games and in each one of them, the difference between medium and ultra is noticeable and sometimes huge.

GPU: GTX 780 Ti

CPU: Xeon E3-1230v3

RAM: 16GB

Not very popular CPU but that's basically i7 4770 non K? If I remember right.. Not much difference.

Or at least many people said that when I asked online what should I get for my new rig.

I can't believe you went for a Xeon.

Intel i7 960 @ 3.2Ghz

Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2133mhz

Radeon HD 7970 3GB

1TB HDD

I'm actually worried that I won't be able to run GTAV on max setting dues to my outdated CPU, and If i need to upgrade, I'll need to buy a new motherboard along with a new cpu.

Can someone shed some light on what performance I can expect to have from GTAV.

Much appreciated.

I've seen people getting sad over them not being able to afford a proper education or not being able to afford a home; this is the first time I see a person being sad just because he can't get GTA V to run on ultra. The world is strange. Really strange. Gottverdammt! O.O

Yes indeed, we should raise funds for this poor soul!

Everyone on this planet should have the right to own a GTX 780 TI.

I'm hoping for at least 30fps on low settings on a rather low resolution (1024x768) with those specs:

CPU: Q6600 OCd to 3.00ghz

RAM: 4GB DDR3

GPU: 7770 OCd (both clocks by about 100mhz)

OS: Windows 7 64 bit

What do you guys think?

Definitely not low. You can probably run GTA V on medium with all that Anti-Aliasing to the south.

Does anyone have any prediction on what the system requirements may be? I don't have a fancy PC, but I plan on building one to use for GTA 5 and many other games. Keep in mind, I am fairly new at understanding all the components to a PC and their uses. Please do not kill me.

i5-2500K@4,4GHz

Asrock Z77 extreme4

GTX 280 -> soon 780

2x4GB

hey, what do you think 'bout that cpu? i guess there is no point for going to i7 or different i5, right?

2500k at 4.4ghz its a beast, no need to upgrade there

just upgrade to a GTX 780 3GB and a SSD for fast loading :)

SSD prices are really dropping but with those crazy size requirements games have I still hesitate. I just use the common setup with the OS on SSD and the Games on a HDD.

Are there any tests with a SSD in a PS3?

dont compare PS3 with PC please, PC will have more data to load so a SSD will be the best option if u want the best gaming experience

Do I need to upgrade?

The most urgent thing you need to do: Remove that strange Icon with the blue "e" from your taskbar

The spec's aren't too great, my personal guess would be an upgrade is needed. But with your screen resolution it might run on low. (wild guess)

Well, that depends on your experience,if you just want to play it,then this setup may be ok,but if you want high quality experience, then upgrade is needed im affraid. You should think about adding more Ram,atleast another 4 GB of Ram if not more, then think about video card - GTX 780 comes to mind, also Cpu is something to consider,GTA V will be very demanding, and the only way to avoid dissapointment is to upgrade as high as possible.

Upgrading my Processor soon, but here are my current specs:

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti 2GB

Processor: AMD Athlon II

RAM: 6GB DDR3

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

HDD: 400GB

Monitors: 21" 1080p

Going to re-install Windows soon, but I'm basically gonna re-install it and let it sit until I get my new processor, upgrade that, and let it sit more until the game comes out.

Take comfort in knowing it's more than adequate to achieve a satisfactory playing experience. (Ultra is well within reason, optimization permitting of course.)

My desktop had 8GB of RAM, but the recent modules that had 4GB have been malfunctioning. The pairs were both 4GB kits, but different brands and slightly different specs, but clocked at the same speed? Was this wrong? Anyway I took out the extra 4GB I bought and put it in an anti-static bag for the time being.
