Wont start after reinstalling the game

Today i found out that problem if i unistelled my GTA sa game(DVD) then reinstalling it then it wont open. I have winows 8 :panic:

Sorry to hear about the Windows 8.

First thing to try when the game worked previously:  Delete the gta_sa.set file.

 

Game is installed to the C:/ (default) drive.

Game was installed with or using Admin Privileges.

Running the game in a 'compatibility mode' (XP, Win98, Vista, etc)

No mods are installed.

Game is installed from the DVD and that DVD is in the drive when playing.

Obviously no one seems to have any idea why Windows 8 doesn't want to run/install older games.

There seems to be a number of Players who have made the 'mistake' of uninstalling a running game only to find that it won't run after a reinstall. 

You are not alone. :(
