I'd say GTAIV.

Let's see:

The Electro Choc in IV is pretty damn good, prefer it over SF-UR.

I'd take LRR, LCHC and Radio Broker over K-DST and Radio X, because there's more stuff to listen to and more variety, and I really love LCHC.

IV has IF99 Funk, which gives off a Driver vibe.

Jazz Station, Journey FM for relaxing music in the night and Fusion FM (not sure what genres these stations are)

A decent hip hop station with 3 great songs and some good ol Classics.

IV wins for me (+TLAD)

Vice City had some of the best music and I liked the music on SA.
With gta v I liked at least one song from every station, and the music was recognisable and there was some good songs on it.
Still, nothing beats driving around Vice City listening to 80s music :)

While VC was good, I personally feel VCS had the better blend of 80's music. Vice City may have been filled with iconic songs from the era, but VCS felt like a real 80's station with a lot of those forgotten gems (Games People Play, I Can Dream About You, It's My Life, Relax, so many more).

That said though I think the greatest station in the whole series is Los Santos Rock Radio. It may have sounded weird hearing Higher Love followed by Photograph, but looking at the whole list on its own merit it has the best selection of songs.

I voted San Andreas for sheer variety. The most complete and historically accurate soundtrack they've done in my opinion.

Both VC games are masterpieces in terms of soundtrack, there's just something about SA. I don't think they've done as comprehensive a soundtrack since.

Also honorable mentions to IV and III; IV for nailing stations such as The Vibe and Fusion and III just for the fact of the original productions.

San Andreas' soundtrack was good, but there were some jarring omissions. The games takes place in the early 90s, where is Nirvana?!

To be totally honest, I'll shock you all. The best soundtracks to date were GTA1 and GTA2. GTA3, LCS and IV come close to it though.

I can't say I disagree with you. GTA1 was revolutionary in regards to soundtrack. To think a 60 minute, radio based score would once be so gamechanging.

Who can forget Joyride or the menfolk found their women scary, 'cause they were so big'n hairy?

GTA1 and GTA2 definitely had the most energetic soundtracks. Felt like Rockstar saying f*ck you to the world.

Probably keeping the too expensive to license pile warm with Prince and Madonna.

The Fix FM, Brooklyn Underground, Funami FM, Lithium Radio, KREZ, N-CT FM, Osmosis Radio FM, KGBH, who could forget them? Great music, great music... and now believe that there were only two Techno stations in the GTA Series...

GTA Vice City because it had more of my personal favorite music. I really liked San Andreas too, love old school rap. GTA V had a really great mix. I enjoyed the 80s songs they put into GTA V.

But Nirvana's had their songs featured in games that are much lower budget than GTA, such as NBA.and MLB.

Knowing that Vice City exists this topic becomes useless.
