While racing solo (on my own created race) I completed a course much more quickly than normal. The payout was about half what it usually is ($3000 instead of $5000). I replayed it, deliberately going much slower. I got a $6000 payout.

I'm forced to conclude that the slower you go the more money you get when racing solo.

To me, that's crazy!

Yea, we've been discussing this on the Content Creator thread too:

It is kind of weird isn't it. I suppose the idea is that if you're in a race that's taking a while to complete (for one reason or another) you don't get paid peanuts.

This is why I sometimes get paid a lot for playing stunt runs solo: I do a lot of respawning.

According to the folks on the thread, this modifier caps off after 10 mins.

I was under the impression that the modifier stopped at 5 minutes and Ive seen it stop as low as 4 minutes. When I create a race I intentionally make it 5 minutes even, just to max out the pay.

is it only based on time? or is it also based on players? i though more people made the winner get more but i dont race often so it may have only been the modifier for time factor that coincided with more people that i noticed that, lol

I thought it was always the same but it makes sense. R doesn't want you making money too fast

Search for my thread GTA5 Racing Research, i have come to the conclusion that they have done this to prevent the grinding of short races like the 30 second race Criminal Records, for me RP maxes out at 4 minutes and cash at 8 minutes. I made a motorcycle race called 4 minutes to glory, its a great way even solo to break up the mission grinding for the day.
