Any good accessories I should look out for? From what I've seen, it's a good piece of kit.

I've been thinking of saving up for one, I tried one at an expo last month and it seemed fairly durable, video quality is pretty good. The model in question was the Hero 3.

It was great. We are home now, and I have spent all of last night and this morning editing the video! Haha.

Just out of curiosity, what model did you end up getting? Looking at buying one myself to get some cool footage while out on the water. Ideally I'd go for the silver model but the white model is at a much more attractive price point for me.

Buy a used hero2 Ryan. You don't need more than that.
Other people have told me that as well but there really aren't that many cheap used ones around for sale

I guess that's the thing - they're decent cameras. I mean, I think you'd probably even have fun with a Hero1 but it's more difficult to use and the specs are little rusty nowadays. If you don't find anything on the local craigslist, try ebay.

That's exactly what I got. Hero 2.
Here is the result of the holiday video if you'd like to check it out? Might help with your decision too Ryan.
Ryan. (That's me, too)
