this is concerning early visits to the other islands before they are unlocked:

hi, i was watching zmoonchild on youtube and i was wondering why i never saw him jump to LS during the many visits on his 13.37% guide. later i saw other guides, to save acquire the sparrow and store it on the mulholland garage, and another how to pass the burger shot courier, which both used this jump. i've looked for more info on this but didn't find anything and decided to post here.  there is also one other video by an indonesian user who demonstrates only this jump in a replay.

i have been trying for a few hours now, calculating different angles, observing in detail with the jetpack, adding vehicles as markers, calculating the distance between the trees, using different tilts, trying to copy the way they have done it  in the videos and i only managed to clear the jump with the NRG-500 once, and another one or two times i hit the wall before falling in the water. everything else, of maybe 100 attempts put me in the water right in front of the wall but i didn't even touch the wall. i tried a few times with a hotring with nitro starting from the hill but that also landed only once out of tens of times.

any help would be appreciated. i don't want to spend 20 minutes every time looking for and trying to catch a bike in las venturas while the police is constantly shooting and bashing at me LOL!

i am also having a hard time with the SF to LS returning jump but that one is easy and my fails are mostly because of large and heavy vehicles.

i can link the videos if needed, thanks

Benderowy_, i have seen rubregg's videos. it doesnt make my bike clear the jump though. i can see him leaning back right after the jump but i have no idea if other tilts would help me. i jumped it a second time and landed backwards. both the first time i already wrote about and this second time that i just got include combinations of leaning forward during the acceleration or right at the time that the bike should start to lift the ground. the second time, it looked like there was an additional ramp as opposed to the rest of the times that the bike just sinks in after the cliff. i managed to hit the wall a few times but thats it. thanks for the video

The trick to landing this jump is leaning heavily into the slight lip at the edge of the road. You need extra height more than anything else; leaning into the "ramp" will provide more height at the expense of speed. Examine the edge of the road and identify an area with the steepest lip to use for the ramp - you don't have much to work with.

I'll speculate on why zmoonchild didn't (really? he covered so much) include this in his videos to make a point. Zoom likes to make flawless, continuous shot videos, and this jump is notoriously unreliable - not necessarily the sort of thing you want to script into a long video.

The primary motivation for getting an NRG into LV is to complete unique stunt jumps, but there are easier ways to get a bike in LV if you just need to get around, and the USJs aren't all that difficult with the vehicles available in LV anyway. If you think you need an NRG for an LV jump, you are probably better off with a fast car. My favorite bike acquisition strategies are:

Hang out in an unrestricted spot along the freeway south of the quarry and snipe one of the frequent bikers driving by. Or, hang out under a freeway overpass (helicopter goes away, cops tend to be on the bridge above) and pull a bike out of traffic.

There's a Sanchez in the quarry that spawns fairly reliably. There's also a good chance of finding a bike as a random spawn in the quarry parking lot. It's a pain to get out of the bottom of the quarry so I usually don't get this bike unless I'm hurting for a good vehicle in the area.

A PCJ will spawn at the airstrip, but this is a very unreliable spawn. If you are going in by aircraft it's usually safer to snag a vehicle and drive in to make sure it spawns so you don't get stranded on foot.

The Emerald Isle car park is probably the safest place to hunt for a bike in LV. There's an opening you can jump through on the 4th floor to a rooftop (big enough for landing small aircraft and easy with a parachute). The car park spawns random vehicles as CJ changes levels, and destroys them when he leaves. In that gap just outside the 4th floor CJ can approach and retreat quickly and spawn new random vehicles until he finds a good one. Be aware that the car park script will impound any vehicle CJ abandons. Impounds are tricky to work with, but if you do manage to get your NRG to LV you could save it in the LVPD impound lot for later retrieval.

Added: Sometimes the frame limiter option can have a dramatic effect on the game physics. Try the other option if you are having problems. At the time of filming, rubregg's computer had a hard time keeping up with some of the longer jumps we worked with.

yes, as i suspected the obvious cause of the trampoline effect was putting more weight into the front as it takes off into the jump. i tried it a few more times but can't always get a good combination of lateral and vertical tilting. the last time it sprung high into the air, compared to the prior tries, so i got carried away riding around in venturas.

a main issue with bikes was that i wanted to get the FCR-900 (my favorite bike, rare and no exact spawn area - any tips for these?) before starting any sidemissions. first i looked around Richman and Rodeo even the PCJ didnt show up (barely any cars even). went to venturas for the FCR supposedly: first 15 minutes no motorbikes whatsoever, then there were 1 or 2 Freeway bikes but that was all. visited a few more times, bikes were a rarity, hence this search. managed to randomly get on a parked FCR without noticing at first so i rode it back to mulholland. now as i play, more and more random npcs started showing up with them. i died in LV because the NRG i was still using caught fire (from afar) and exploded unexpectedly. waking up at the All Saints hospital in Rodeo, i hear an FCR passing by, so by the time i manage to grab it another one passes by. what? i know FCR shows up in LS but i thought it would be further into the game. i did see that vehicles disappear though it was on the 1st floor in a video showing how to get the maverick using the LV impound after making it disappear in the first floor of the emerald isle parking lot. i still can't really figure out how to use the impounds even though i have tried playing around with them. later on i get to the emerald isle parking lot, thanks for the tip about the fourth floor, managed to figure out i could just use the resetting of the vehicles walking back and fourth as soon as you touch the garage wall to my advantage instead of getting on a car on the 4th floor, driving up till i find a BF or PCJ, driving it up to the 10th story looking for an FCR, jumping to the 4th floor roof with the bike when i don't find it and walking into the 4th floor again. what i noticed was that certain days there was only one type of bike that would show up. sometimes there was only BF bikes, others - PCJ, other times Freeway + PCJ + FCR, etc. im not sure if this has anything to do with the days of the week but i didnt hang around that much to notice it.

about the quarry, i saw in a video that someone picks up a Freeway right outside the quarry, it was parked next to another bike and some vehicles. there was nothing there when i got there. went down to the quarry, there were no vehicles there, i got stormed by hundreds of sheriffs and they took me down before i found the ramp that leads up. thanks for the bridge and unrestricted zone tips too, will try that, i did wait under a bridge though vehicles started running me over as the cops above were trying to shoot me through the bridge but i managed to get a bike.

i usually get the chance to get in a police vehicle that parks next to me without CJ taking too much damage but the constant ramming and bullets don't let it last long.

also haven't found much of a difference switching between frame limiter even though i know people use it to their priority. thanks for the tips Benderowy_ and OrionSR, glad to have you on this discussion

There are fcr-900 spawning most of the time in the strip. You can use a taxi or other vehicle looking for a bike. If you didn't find a vehicle then sprint and you will be hitten with only one bullet or maybe two but there is a armor near four dragon casinos. The cops are not a big deal for me because they are pretty stupid. Complete the burger shot courier mission and you will come to know how to deal with the cops.
Las venturas has almost all of the best vehicles which can used as a replacement for nrg-500.
Oh I remembered now, watch fnxrk las venturas and desert unique stunt jumps video. He have used packer to gain that extra height for the jump. You can park nrg-500 on top of packer and then drive to the edge of the road with the packer and hop on nrg and speed towards the packer to clear the jump.

khsh97, i had tried the packer jump but i think something exploded before i got to jump over to LV and the packer usually takes a long time to find, the bike would sometimes fall off. i wasn't really caught up to by cops in the burger shot courier, only got cut off once in a while at the ones that spawn at the turns (never crashed or fell off) and i easily avoided roadblocks. dont really want to rely on cars though because they catch fire too fast, compared to bikes

Care and Feeding of a San Andreas Impound Garage

Above is still the definitive topic on the impound garages. It's a "discovery" topic rather than a complete guide, so be sure to read the first few pages for clarification and examples of the frustrations encountered by some very experienced players. The impound lots are strange beasts, but 9 extra garage slots are difficult for car collectors to ignore.

The quarry pit is not my favorite spot, I hit up the quarry parking lot when I'm passing through in a jacked car and hoping for something a little better from the random spawns.

One of the best tricks to master is getting the cops to bring armor to you. Find ped free zones along a road and get close enough to convince an Enforcer to drive right at you. Run away when the swat gets out and the Enforcer's driver will usually purse. This separation makes it a lot easier to get a healthy vehicle out of the exchange. A variation on a bike; get off and on quickly to coax the swat team to get out.

Frame limiter should be on for all speed-tap activities like biking, swimming, diving, and sprinting, but don't worry about running if you aren't in a triathlon. Other than that, just keep it in mind when things aren't quite working right.

My best tip for the FCR is to learn to recognize the sound of it's engine and snag them when they are handy. I like to keep one in my Santa Maria garage because I suspect having one load when the door opens encourages more to spawn in Richmond and Rodeo. Experience with the Emerald Isle car park will help with identifying the different bikes and their variations.

I think you are reading a bit more into your days of the weeks observations than your current data set justifies. There are settings for relative density of different population groups based on 2 hour increments during the weekdays, and separate settings for weekend hours, but these values rarely have any practical use - the randomness of spawns and tendency for whatever is spawning now to keep spawning more seem to have the greatest impact on random parked cars and traffic.

There are some codes that release the Voodoo from a restricted random spawn list early in the game, but I've never really noticed it missing, so I'm not sure if it's working. Otherwise, the game doesn't make any adjustments to random spawns during the game that's not related to gang wars. Some parked vehicles get displayed or hidden by missions, but random spawns do not progress with the story beyond access to new areas. (Parked combines spawn with a ped driving during the day and are displayed by a mission - so those don't count as an exception.)

The packer trick is actually very reliable but you must either double drive the NRG500 and the packer there or use the packer to transport the bike there, I was actually sucessful twice using the same trick using a turismo, but I didn't record back then, but it was hell to accomplish that as I tried more than 100 times and after all that trouble I got the turismo destroy by cops while in LV LOLOL. And only then I learned the underwater trick so I gave up on the packer trick to take vehicle to LV. But it's very useful for the NRG500.

hey guys, i haven't played much since a few days after my last post, just about once a week so heres my reply. i tried working with the impounds before after reading a bit about how they work but i couldn't get them to work the way i thought they do but i guess i'll have to experiment more. can you store boats/hovercraft/stunt planes etc there? lol.

though quarry parking isnt best for spawns it's really close to a few other parking lots and small truck stop areas with vehicles but i need to do more research, probably without 4 stars to see what spawns where. i was able to bring back a sandking and once again a sparrow (the last one exploded unexpectedly when i was supposedly running it into walls and bridges). is it possible to store 2 sparrows in mullholland? i think i tried it but it wouldnt close.

im pretty good with armor. i need a little more experience with locations. i'm currently playing without maps trying to get to remember as much item locations as possible, i only took a look at 2-3 weapon locations of weapons to farm in LS. i already got about 78 of the tags and the ones i seem to be missing are mostly such that i think i already tagged.

so most of the times that i get wasted or busted are because of falling off a bike due to cops thrashing at me or jumping out of a burning car not being able to find a vehicle fast enough (or one exploding next to me or even sometimes while i'm in it). it's really annoying when flocks and swarms of ped cops start walking up and down chiliad when i get blasted off my vehicle and it's really hard to get in one of their vehicles before they drain my health since the bike is usually far down or up (and i've probably lost health due to a fall too).

im usually good with cop tricks and i know how to control them but not really while they start ramming me from behind. i'll take a homie which would shoot at cops behind me as an alert, as you know sometimes they don't run their alarms, usually in more deserted areas.

i guess i'll experiment with the frame limiter when something seems different.

emerald isle parking doesn't seem to spawn FCR or at least as much as i've been there. it only gives me a PCJ. i really got a lot of spawns in LS though. i'll have to experiment with spawns based on what you drive and what you store. i have yet to try the NRG jump again. i tried using a packer a few times leading to unsuccessful attempts which made me think if it's really worth trying compared to the time used up to get there with the 50 times that the bike falls off (i'm better off riding both in a leapfrog style). maybe i'll have to try working with undrowning as i havent tried getting a vehicle down there yet. thanks for the help, i'll post future updates as i go through the game
