It's official!

Travelers Tales has officially announced Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Which takes place after Brainiac's brief cameo in Lego Batman 2... Who is using stolen lantern rings to shrink down entire worlds and collect them. And unlikely alliances must form to stop him, for the sake of all things awesome!

New Gameplay Elements:

Travelers Tales has confirmed many, but most likely not all game elements that are in play in Lego Batman 3.

- Action Wheel: Much like The Lego Movie The Video Game, Lego Batman 3 will display a wheel when you hold Y/Triangle/U (I know.. The PC controls are from 1991) and lets you either change characters, change suits (No more going back and forth between different suits to acquire different gadgets) and other stuff such as pick out characters from the huge roster of characters in freeplay mode.

- Huge roster of unique DC characters: TTGames has announced that throughout the missions, side missions, bonus missions and other miscellaneous activities you do throughout the game, you will unlock an impressive roster of 150 unique characters.

- A fantastic campaign to play solo or with a couch-coop partner: Traveler's Tales made Lego Batman 2 in 2012, which was their first game with an actual dialogue driven storyline... And many fans were wowed by how a game as simple as Lego could have such an awesome campaign... Lego Batman 3 offers, much like every other Lego Game, a 15 level campaign... Followed by bonus levels to satisfy your inner DC fan, such as the Adam West Batman bonus level, which was revealed at comic-con.

- And a buttload of other features returning from Lego Batman 2.

Want more people to acknowledge the third installment of one of the best series ever.

Don't wanna seem like a thirsty bump.

Oooh! I know!

Ahem.

Arkham Knight? More like Arkham Bitch!

If you're going to appreciate the third installment of a game that hasn't come out yet, the least you could do is not sh*t on another game. Makes you look childish.

I was, you know... Joking. As sadly apparent by the lousy and obvious build up.

I honestly couldn't finish Lego Batman 2, finished one, but two just dragged ON AND ON, I ended up giving up because it wasn't fun anymore.

The menu for gadgets seems like a good idea.

I see the default batman costume is based on the New 52 costume. Maybe they're going to draw more from the current comics continuity. Even Wonder Woman and Superman look New 52-ish.

I want Damian Wayne with swords!

Gameplay Trailer from SDCC.

Also, I'm surprised there hasn't been more love towards Bat-cow.

And Fireman, you should really try to finish it. The story gets really awesome when

Here's 2 gameplay videos that I didn't post when they came out, feel like this should be a proper thread soooooo ...

Since this forum has a bad habit of only allowing 2 videos in a post, I'm gonna put the trailers in the OP and the gameplay videos in this post.

AND a (hopefully) regularly updated list of characters, since we all love unlocking characters in Lego games.

Anyway, here are the 2 gameplay videos, blame IGN for the sound sucking.

You literally need to be a bat in order to hear one of them.

I WOULD HAVE had the nice fancy list in the OP, but this forum apparently does not know how to handle ..Forum stuff.

New trailer:

This looks more in-game graphics... Not the usual remastered stuff companies usually put in their trailers.

Although it looks like an upgrade from Lego Batman 2, it looks downgraded from Lego Marvel... That might be cause this is on current gen, which means that it's bigger than Lego Marvel, making them sacrifice lighting for performance... Which makes me excited. More is always better with Lego games.

I know I'm the only one who's still interested in this but...

In 3 hours, it'll be 10 days until the release of Lego Batman 3.

They'v revealed multiple characters every single day since this thread died and still not all of em.

Here's a video:

Hah, Kevin Smith is in there, that's great. New cahracters actually seem to look different this time 'round rather than being the same with just slightly different abilities.

And here's 2 attractive women playing the 1966 bonus level.

Glad they stepped up their game with bonus levels.

They still make this sh*t?

This "sh*t" is still one of the very few video game series with developer integrity.

And the Lego Batman series has been the second best Batman video game series ever, beaten only by the Arkham series.

So yes, they're still making this.

How's everyone else enjoying the game?

It's a solid game, the hub worlds are pretty eh, though. VERY eh.

In other news; I literally burst out laughing when I saw what The Dark Knight Returns Batman looked like.

It's the TDKR Batman we always knew. The one who could only see his giant pectoral muscles when he looks down.

Just thought I'd say this. The Rainbow Batman Preorder DLC is now FREE and out. (At least on Xbox marketplace. I don't own a PS so can't check that)
