I think all of us Elergy drivers have experienced that it suddenly just spins around for seemingly no reason... Hasn't happened to me for a while now, but...
But, what is the reason the elergy does this? :s

I was doing a race earlier yesterday and i selected my comet i spun out so many times it wasn't even funny.

I've never had a problem like that before did they mess with the comet too?

It's typical behaviour of a car with lots of grip (most modern cars in real life with very wide tyres) - people think they handle well but they don't really, they just have lots of grip, when that reaches its limit the car breaks away and spins. I much prefer the balanced handling of something like the Banshee with progressive slide personally, even if it's not as fast round a track I find it far more reliable to get around courses you don't know inside out! :)

Cars lose grip when their speed rises. everyone goes fast all the time in GTA Online and they don't notice it.

you might think your going around 40 mph but your really going like 90. Rockstar should install a speed Dial on the side of the screen as an option to have xD

The reason it's spinning out is because you're bad at driving.

this is the exact reason i got rid of it. not sure why but this is THE ONLY car in this game i like but just cant seem to drive. i ended up in such a nerd rage more than a few times racing with it when i had one.

Ofcourse I know how Allergy is spelled, and no, nobody drives the Elergy better than me.
Just invite Proen @ xbox to a sports race, and you'll see for yourself.

I've never had a problem like that before did they mess with the comet too?

Didn't the handling file accidently get reverted to v 1.1 or whatever?

They had done some tweaks since that version that got lost since the update went live.

That is probably why your Comet span out, people were complaining about the Z-Type getting 'nerfed' after the update - that was why.

Not sure about the Elegy though, I was driving mine last night in free-roam (I had a bounty on me) and didn't notice anything unusual.

I haven't been driving it much recently, just decided to move it to my new garage as my 'tank in session car'

Has the Z-Type been nerfed? Started by Giantsgiants, A week ago

I don't see what you're saying OP. I guess it's a case of driving skill/understanding. I expect a bit of spin here and there but it's always controllable. I've driven much worse cars. The sports class is full of them but the Elergy, I thought, was one of the easiest to use.

I have a Comet too. Not for racing, it's just a fun car tbh.

I know what he means - The Elegy doesn't spin easily but when it does it's very difficult to pull out of, unlike say the Carbonizzare which has a lot of oversteer but is completely controllable. The Comet is probably about halfway between the two. Cars which oversteer a lot tend to be controllable with a little caution in the bends, those which grip a lot and understeer are more likely to snap into oversteer and spin at the limit of their grip.

That's the thing, the worse cars are more predictable in their spins.
There have been times when I'm not even driving fast, and it just spins around... Might have been cuz of a slightly bumpy surface for all I know.

That's why I stick to a Jester for competitive racing (Massacro also good but can be reluctant to make tight turns at times), but if you want to annoy people race a Banshee - it's only just off the pace of the fastest Sports cars but really easy to drive and is the most balanced sports car for me, Jesters spin themselves trying to pit manoeuvre it. I can't remember the last time I lost in mine and seeing the lists of Elegy's and Jesters below on the leaderboard is so satisfying. :D
