The good

Sleeping dogs: Cockfights, combat and graphics at night

GTA V: Everything else

The bad.

Sleeping dogs: Everything else

GTA V: Lack of post game missions like vigilante and firefighter. Screw taxi jobs. Even a pilot ser of missions would have sufficed.

The two games as a whole, there is no comparison GTA V is better in every aspect, but both stories flattered to deceive.

Both had a lot of potential, but failed to live up to it.

In Sleeping dogs, there was the build up, and you were anticipating that the last mission the player would choose between a life of gang, or betraying the gang and becoming a cop, but this never occurred.

Honestly, as much as I love the fighting in Sleeping Dogs, I can't bring myself to finish it.

So, gotta go with GTA V

The whole classic Rock station in Sleeping Dogs (Sagittarius FM) outshines LSRR.

They also have a metal station, so points for that too.

Gta 5 overall is a better game but Sleeping Dogs has Pork Buns...And Pork Buns helps you feel like a whole man.

I enjoyed Sleeping Dogs a lot.. and I extremely dislike the overall game of GTA V.

But comparing both I'd have to give it to GTA V, no matter how terrible the story was, it's a bit better than Sleeping Dogs due to the fact that the characters have better humor and lines.

And I had more stuff to do in GTA V aside from collecting money pouches or whatever they were in Sleeping Dogs.

Nonetheless I think it's still a great game.

asking this question in a forum about GTA may not give you as objective answers as you might want, but I'll try as hard as I can:

I haven't played sleeping dogs, so I will just assume that GTA is better

I played Sleeping Dogs twice, and never touched it again. I'm... 'acquiring' Watch Dogs to check it out but I'm almost 100% sure I'll play it for a couple of weeks, leave it there and go back to GTA V.

LOL at the kids who think GTA's story is better than sleeping dogs. That's cute. GTA's the better game though.

GTA is far superior to sleeping dogs in every way apart from one, and that is the melee system which I thought was an absolute f*cking joy. I also quite enjoyed how lively parts of the map felt even if the npc's just said the same 10 things over and over again!

Sorry old man, but I've been playing GTA since '99 and I always loved the story, from every single game in the series. You can call me a fanboy and I wouldn't give a f*ck about it. What are you doing in a GTA Forum anyway?

Comparing GTA 5 to Sleeping Dogs is like comparing a Thai pop star to a broken beer bottle - it just cannot be done considering how different the two are.

Sleeping Dogs combat was great. But when I found out that's the best thing they had. I got bored if it quickly.
Honestly Sleeping dogs, really doesn't stand a chance against GTA V. GTA V is like on a Golden Level, and sleeping dogs seems like an open world bruce lee game.

They both Share the Same Medium and their both Open World Crime  Games  why cannot it not be done  ? People Compare gta to far Different Games All The Time.

The only thing I didn't like about Sleeping Dogs was after the story doing tasks for Sun On Yee members and they were completely oblivious to Wei's true identity. It created a huge disconnect IMO. They all knew he was an undercover cop yet he still done things like nothing happened.

Aside from that I thought it was a solid game. The story despite only 30 missions was quite well put together. I also liked the city. It looked awesome when it rained. In saying that to be honest I only finished it once. It just didn't have quite enough replay value for me to playthrough again.

So overall I'd deem GTA V the victor for having (arguably) more replay value.

f*ck's sake, must learn to read. Disregard.

My initial reply was about Watch Dogs, not Sleeping Dogs.

Sleeping Dogs is really, really boring. Bad driving, bad acting, boring soundtrack, uninspired game world. Good fighting, though. But that's just not enough to carry the game.

I put in about 15 hours to Sleeping Dogs before completely abandoning it. I haven't loaded it up since about 3 days after I got it.

Anyone want to buy a cheap copy of Sleeping Dogs? UK version, barely used.

You agree with anything that involves calling another game bad just so it makes V look good.

I also played Sleeping Dogs and that my exact feeling about the game, but whatever i really dont care if you think so....And oh that was a waste of 60 btw (Unlike V which have a superb replayable vaue and like i said before trashes SD in everyways).

I agree. Sleeping dogs was sort of a waste of time and money,
