EVERYONE Compares V To watch Dogs but what about the other open World Crime game with Dogs in its Name Sleeping Dogs? is V Better? or did united Front Games Dethrone R* With  its Open World Gem

what game do you think is better Overall ? and what has the better Story ?

Damm sleeping Dogs Getting Destroyed i really thought it might just hold its own but it is a gta forum so maybe to much Ambition  on my part

 Anyway  For me

Overall - V (Not By Much)

Story - tied  Sleeping Dogs has a stronger more Focused Plot but  its still Generic and the Dialogue In V Is far better Written.

I think GTA V is better in every aspect. I never really liked Sleeping Dogs at all. The first few hours of Sleeping Dogs was fun but after that it just felt like another generic GTA clone for the most part. I never finished the story as I just couldn't be bothered with the game.

Better game overall- GTAV

Better story - Can't decide. Both of them are 6.65/10, IMO

I was a huge fan of Gta series till gta v got release I was so pumped for gta v I followed all marketing.what rockstargames has been doing for past 2 years and following the. Actual (rumors and little informations) subject from past 4 years but once I experienced the actual game it was worthless rockstar did fake marketing the actual product is far different from marketing I enjoyed sleeping dogs more overall.

I enjoyed sleeping dogs due to playing true crime as a kid, but nah GTA V is better in every way. Which is expected.

Not the clothes themselves, they suck. I meant how you could create your custom outfit set of choice by selecting individual parts.

Sleeping Dogs had a very beautiful city, it feels fresh and the combat system was awesome, but GTA V feels better someway except in the city and combat.

I think Sleeping Dogs wins in some aspects, like story, motorcycle physics, combat and weapon audio. GTA V wins in everything else imo. All that aside, I love both games.

To be truthful I never finished Sleeping Dogs, It felt bland and repeditive after the first few hours....But the Combat System was Great, I loved being able to grab people and shove them into sh*t! IMO Grand Theft Auto V was better in every aspect except for combat (The combat was pretty good though).

Played Sleeping Dogs at launch. Loved it. Finished replaying it literally just a couple of hours ago, I still love it. Convenient timing for this thread, I should say.

I'd like to say the same for GTA V. But I'm waiting for the PC version.

As it stands right now, I have no choice but to be biased and compare my V 360 experience (which was dreadful because I lack above basic comprehension of controller mechanics) to my Sleeping Dogs PC experience. The latter was far more enjoyable. Purely because I have history with the game and because I was a big fan of the type of story it was selling long before it was actually selling it (Lots of HK action movies back in the day).

Sleeping Dogs is a great little game. Although we have to remember that it has been through some serious development hell. So we're lucky that we got what we did with it. The way it blends 3 gameplay elements absolutely marvellous. Instantaneous transitions from driving, to shooting, to melee.

Also, V doesn't have a super f*cking badass action hijack that lets you jump from vehicle to vehicle at your leisure. Making the driving much more boring in comparison when you're stuck to one vehicle like some kind of mortal and not given the powers of the gravity-defying triad gods.

V by far, and I got 100% in both games. No doubt the melee system in Sleeping Dogs decimates the one in GTA V, but that's it. V has better mini games and side missions, a more diverse soundtrack, and I believe it has a more entertaining story. The lack of aircraft in Sleeping Dogs was a bummer. It also got tiring hacking cameras so many times. However I will say I liked the safehouse interior designs more in Sleeping Dogs.

As for Watch Dogs it looks like Ubi f*cked with us again in terms of dishonesty about the quality of the graphics. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I think the maxed-out PC graphics look only a little better than V. The pop-in is also pretty bad as is the voice acting. It was originally a day-one buy for me but I'll wait until Steam puts it on sale.

GTA V isn¡¯t perfect either and Sleeping Dogs definitely does better in certain areas, like a much more focused narrative, rewarding optional tasks, nice additions to the car combat mechanics (at least, some fun variety), also equally good hand to hand fighting system and variety in options to attack peds and enemies, interesting missions and objectives relating to organized crime and undercover tasks ( better than many of the boring GTA V story missions ), few helpful touches to the mini map, mini games are decent ( at least, better than yoga & tennis :p ), skill progression, etc.

I find Sleeping Dogs better in the possibilities of activities to do outside main story. The setting was brilliant and fresh, and I'm sure they'll improve it further from the reception of the players in the sequel.

GTA V left me with many disappointing experiences than something to feel satisfied after spending so many hours into it. I¡¯ve never felt like that with the previous titles.
It is quite good for a shift from the boredom of GTA V's empty free roam actually.
Lastly, I can play it on PC :p

Sleeping Dogs had worse story IMO. It develops nice and but after Winston gets killed it progresses too fast and we don't see any new characters in Triad. The ending is completly idiotic. Wei Shen, who probably lost his liver to a torturer and had broken limbs with bonesaw and crushed feet with hammer is able to kill dozens of enemies and escape from skycrapper. Later he finds his nemesis and after Michael Bay's style pursuit kills him. It was typical class B story.

GTA story is slightly better but it has surely better characters. Trevor just eats even the best ones from Sleeping dogs with his unique personality.

In terms of better gameplay: GTA V > Sleeping Dogs. Bigger map, more things to do, better controls, more enterteining shooting mechanic. It only loses in terms of melee combat, but all else is just better.

GTA V is also better than Watch Dogs, the most overhyped game ever.

Ive had the privilege to play both and IMO sleeping dogs storyline was way better than gta v which was average at most. It felt rushed and random as hell and the plot was pretty generic as it was three guys meet up and do three big heists and then call it quits with an addition of random strangers and freaks. I believe that GTA online is overall better than both and although it doesn't have a storyline its always got more and more content coming in compared to single player and sleeping dogs doesn't have an online mode. Only thing that is really missing on GTA online from single player is animals and i dare to say the word "Heists".

you can't really compare the two. they're not the same

GTA  is its own game and always has been.

Sleeping dogs vs Watch dogs would be something more along the lines.

About Watch dogs, i think Sleeping dogs is the Only Game that can be compared too, it shares more similarities with Sleeping dogs then with GTA V, from Name to Hacking (Sleeping Dogs Hacking is no near Watch Dogs, but it is present in some missions)

I haven't played Sleeping Dogs and I don't think I will, even though it's the former True Crime 3: Hong Kong, nothing makes it interesting for me, not even the myths, so... GTA V.

You don't know what you miss, Great Story and Cutscenes, Assassin's Creed Parkour (more like Jackie Chan Parkour), Arkham Fighting, and a Lot better Driving compared to GTA IV and close to GTA V Driving!

And let's not forget, is a True "Living, Breading World"

GTA V has 99 problems but SLEEPING DOGS ain`t ONE.

I don't necessary Agree at all, but is a Good one, i can give you THAT!

Sleeping dogs is one of those games you play for story that's it. I'm sure watch dogs will be close to the same.

Sleeping dogs was good IMO , I liked how it was based in Hong Kong, something different for once
