Since many consider it to be the most important meal of the day, I'm curious to know how all of you start your day right. So, what do you normally eat for breakfast on a Monday -> Friday basis?

I pretty much always have granola with plain yogurt because it's quick, easy, and seems like a healthy choice. I've been doing this for almost a year now, but am looking for some alternatives.

If I have time in the morning I would drink a cup of water but if not then I won't eat anything.

Nothing. For some odd reason, I get really really really hungry later in the day whenever I eat breakfast as opposed to when I don't.

Nothing, but I notice things go a lot smoother when I do eat breakfast, so I've been making an effort to start.

When I do it's usually either eggs and toast, oatmeal, or grits.

A cup of Tetley British blend with 3 sugars and a splash of milk, and a couple cigarettes.

I find it hard to eat breakfast. I love breakfast foods but my body rejects the notion of consuming food in the morning. I have to force it down. I've gotten to the point where if I do not eat in the morning, especially if I wake up particuarily early, I get lightheaded and feel faint.

I usually eat eggs because it's quick and I can stomach it. I make all sorts of egg based meals but my favourite is scrambled or poached eggs with maple syrup, bacon bits and fresh tomatoes. The maple syrup really adds a lot of flavour to the eggs!

I've been eating the same breakfast virtually every day (on the days that I get up early for work) since college.

1 banana

1 cup yogurt

1 piece of toast; peanut buttered

1 tall glass chocolate milk

1 80mg baby aspirin

f*ckin' breakfast of f*ckin champions.

I couldn't fathom not having breakfast every school morning. It's pretty much a ritual for me to have a big bowl of cereal, preferably something filling, and if I don't have anything I'm dead by 10.

I think a lot of the people here who can't really stomach food in the morning--I certainly fall into this category from time to time--are generally dehydrated. I have literally no evidence to support this theory, but it sounds right *shrug*

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't eat anything in the morning. It just doesn't seem right or natural for my body to consume something in the morning as just moments later I'll feel sick and puke it out ( worse case scenario ). I really envy the people who can consume large amounts in the morning right after waking up.

I don't eat breakfast. Sometimes I'll take a bite out of some random food in the fridge, but that's just to get the bad taste out of my mouth.

During the weeks I usually have a Toaster Strudel for breakfast. On the weekends it's usually what my Dad or my Dad's girlfriend wants to cook up.

When I was younger with an irregular schedule I could easily get by on no breakfast like most of you. Never a void coffee couldn't fill. But nowadays waking up early all during the week my body pretty much demands some kind of fuel to keep me till lunch. I go with the cold breakfast only because it's quicker. I save the hot breakfasts (all that bacon, pancakes, eggs and such) for the weekends when I have time to prepare/clean.

The biggest challenge I find is to keep it fresh by changing it up from time to time once you grow sick of it. There are only so many different types of granola to mix with plain yogurt, but I'm thinking my next favorite alternative would be bread + jam(s). Lots of different breads and jams to mix. Plus, it has the benefit of easily being served warm, and is filling and yet not heavy for an early meal.

Some earl grey tea with milk is also quite good in the morning. I enjoy that.
