Maybe you should go get an audience of military veterans and tell them that taking a tactical stance is being a "pussy"...you know WAY more than they do, apparently, because they've ONLY been in the sh*t and survived, while you're SO EXPERIENCED in warfare because you've played GTA V for several months...I'm sure they will bow to you like a god

----

So clueless...nobody is "hiding" when they are holding position behind cover...having the most kills in a round might give you a hard-on, but it means NOTHING, the object is SURVIVING, and running around like a one-man army on cocaine does nothing but increase your chances of being killed

I have a Vietnam veteran and a Marine on my friends list and the three of us used to play Survival together quite often (still do sometimes), and had the same style - the so-called "useless undisciplined commando routine" you mentioned earlier, and more often than not we finished. If you have 3-4 people who aren't complete retards moving around without anyone dying is an actual possibility. Those same military veterans you mentioned have feet, too.

And for the record comparing GTA survival mode to any combat situation (and GTA players to war veterans) is pretty f*cking silly.

Oh, and

I know kills don't mean anything but I like to get through the survivals as quick as possible. Yes. I know that I can hide behind the same thing and do absolutely nothing different each (and every time I play, I'm just saying that bores me so much, it's not worth the time involved and I'd rather be moving around and practicing and if I die, so be it, there's usually someone hiding in their little area that will complete the round in like 5 minutes once everyone walks over to them one at a time.

Ok so clearly black rabbit gets it. Suggestion for anyone who disagrees: grow some balls

& the assertion that getting the most kills means 'nothing' is simply wrong. It means more RP, more FUN, slightly more of a challenge, & killing 20-25 of the 40-45 total enemies IS making a contribution, even if you die. Just stay alive in wave 8-9-10. Not that freakin' hard people

For myself I like to run and gun the first half, just hiding when those damn helis appear then camp the last few levels to ensure we complete as a team.
It's a totally different game when someone nicks "your" camping spot!
P. S. Calling someone a pussy over a video game playing style? Face facts everyone on here is a pussy for playing video games instead of going outside and DOING something! Lol

I always laugh at the sad cases that think they're awesome 'cos they can play a video game.  It's only a video game, go be awesome at something that actually matters.  I don't give a flying f**k what anyone thinks about how I play a video game!

So an extra 200 RP when it takes thousands to level up totally validates that you should run around like a nut job and risk death so that your team has to work harder in the end...

Funny too, that when I take my spot and hold my ground, I usually finish with the top 1-2 spot, so I guess you're just running around for no reason, huh?

Thanks for making the game harder for us

I stopped playing Survival ever since our crew grew up massively and we are rarely only 4 people online.

If they had Survivals on a bigger scale with at least up to 8 people, that would be great. And Free-aim of course must be rewarded higher than it is now (must be at least 40% more RP or $).

And more waves needed, let's say 15

Every player I see who isn't using their head and letting the enemies come to them runs about like a headless chicken A.K.A. Rambo.

Enormous quote train removed.

I obviously don't run around out in the open towards enemies but I will go to a group of them to cut them down, then move towards another group...using cover when required. Yeah, I die sometimes because one of the enemies gets in a shot to my face...but sh*t happens.

It's not an issue, I just hate it when people yell at me over the mic and act like an army general, "I'm going to stay here, you go over there and do this."....nope. I'm going to do what I do and I'm going to pay attention to how you're playing and alter my playstyle to encompass that.

That's the sort of thing I hate in Survivals because it just looks like one guy trying to Rambo it, poaching kills of everyone else.  Maybe different if everyone is in on it and is working together then it might be the way to go.

When those rambos charge out at wave 10 for thier glory, the remaining players ends up cleaning up the mess & still reward the rambos when you are done, the rambos should only recieve payouts of 9 waves, not 10

This.

I have been known to commit suicide when I'm the last man standing.  No way am I helping out a bunch of useless pricks who constantly die 30 seconds into the wave and expect me to save the day.

Unlike you,I will fight to the end,7/10 I pull through. Not because I wanna reward those rambos but I don't believe in quitting or commiting suicide

Survival is big bullsh*t.

Increase the payout to 40k at least.

Don't try to say we can pick up ammo from there. They have limit and the limit is very low which basically you can't really refill your guns and explosives.

Probably still playing Pacman after loosing all touch with reality in 1987.

Don't get me wrong, I hate failing but if I'm lumbered with someone who barely moves after they spawn and dies 10 seconds into every wave, I don't see why I should help them.  I'd sooner cut my losses and do something solo or look for a better group of players.  There have been times when I've fought on to the end so we all get $20K but lately I just can't be bothered since I've got a decent amount of cash, nothing to spend it on and no more unlocks that I'm interested in.

I'm actually a big fan of how this game pays out in missions and survival etc. The onus is on the TEAM completing the goal, not on one person carrying everyone, being a hero and taking the spoils. The way it's structured it is in everyone's best interest for the goal to be achieved, and being Rambo, gives no bonus.

Games where the "winner" or MVP get a bonus just creates hero plays, and takes away a little from the co-op element, IMHO.

I use the first 2 or 3 waves to evaluate the team and get into a good firing position.

I can deal with 1 rambo, I just stay away from him and dont count on anything

2 Rambo's running around, ape rolling and getting killed in the first wave and I ck out. I'm not gonna waste my time with guys who aren't in it to get to the end

"hiding like a pussy" who can survive a whole survival alone > going Rambo risking getting killed. word to everyone who disagree: I'll test you myself if you are on PS3. ID: ten-a-penny. a'right then mister "holy" rabbit. show me your "skills" in going-Rambo if you're on PS3.

Word to everyone actually.

Sometimes hiding can save you, you know. especially in the Industrial Plant survival.

I agree full on with you OP. This idea can make people play through better. also increase the payout instead of the lame 20k after the survival. totally waste of the time IMO.

I have noticed that all Arabs seem to play this way. Not sure what that means but it may explain why an Arab army hasn't won a war in several centuries (well unless it was fighting another Arab army)

Is it a cultural thing? Is taking cover actually seen as cowardly?

I always thought these DB's just wanted to get more kills, now I realize some of them actually believe this is how Survival should be played.

This dude and OP forget that the only reason they can go Rambo is because everyone else is covering them! If we all ran around like chimps we'd all be dead!

But DBs like me are only near the people who are "covering" us for a small portion of each wave. On maps like Del Perro Pier where one of the most popular camping spots is in a place like the alleyway it's not possible to cover a player who's moving around the whole map. Like I said earlier, I've completed plenty of survivals where every player (my friends) ran around like chimps, and continue to.

I should be more clear that when I play "Rambo" style I'm not literally standing out in the open with a heavy machine gun at my waist, and I don't think anyone saying they move around does either  - I take cover behind objects and walls and use the blindfire when I'm overwhelmed and have to, the difference is that cover isn't the same spot for 95% of the job.  I should also make it clear that my goal isn't to make it to the top of the list every wave. Yeah, I like racking up kills. It's fun(ner than sitting still), and the RP is nice, but finishing in less than half of the time it takes if all 4 players are camping in the same safe-spot is even nicer to me. And yes, I've timed it.

Survival "should" be played whatever way downs that last enemy on wave 10.

I have no problem running around OR hiding when it calls for it. I just don't treat a silly game mode as if it were the Art of War. I also don't subscribe to the ludicrous assertion that someone who can kill 15-20 guys in a round isn't contributing. Yes, it takes elite SEAL Team/commando skills to mow down NPCs who not only get in a line and come at you but do it in waves. El-Oh-El.

Sorry to interrupt your fight. Just wanted to say the spawning is broken. You can claim 'have skill' for survival but when enemies spawn right in front, beside and behind you, you can't blame anyone at all for dying, regardless which wave.

And Rambos fukk their team because of this. If everyone stays together, the enemies spawn at distance. As soon as you split the team, they start spawning wherever you are. Rambo runs off, the others die to the dude who spawned with his barrel right at the backs of their heads.

to be honest when you stay together you get overwhelmed pretty quickly

having your team split up spreads enemies pretty thin.. i've played around with this enough times where you can actually spawn kill the enemy.

I love how everyone (well, not everyone) just assumes that if you're not camping your favorite spot and you like to move around the map that you're "going Rambo". Seriously, go back and read how many people called say that....even a dude with a Rambo avatar. You people are silly. I find camping boring...just like in Red Dead. I could never camp in one place for the entire ten minute matches or Overrun. I guess I have ADD or something.

You know exactly what I'm trying to say, but sadly, it's not going to work. They won't pay attention to what you're saying. They assume that everyone not taking cover behind the same object and waiting for the enemy to come to them is Rambo. I'm going to give up on them, it's pointless to try to convey this to them.

look dude arent you the one that said anyone who "camps" is "hiding like a pussy" ????? and you seem to be bothered by people referring to your style of play as rambo......lol.look i know that with two or three of my crew we do pretty well in the "camping" play style,so we should all agree to disagree, and if you were to randomly join our game,we will kick you or you can quit out on wave 4,7 or 10 like most of the "runners and gunners" do when they are mystified by the whirlybird flying god thing that shows up and owns them.

I honestly not really sure. but since Arabs seem to always teamed up and never ran into a war (others than the Iraq war) I don't think so.

Highly unluckily. maybe different for other countries but I'm not sure. I've been in the Libyan war. I've saw multiple people "go Rambo" and find themselves dead. while others who actually take cover and survive. plus, who said that "taking cover is cowardly"? if you kept running around gun-blazing you'll get shot down. even if you're running from a cover to another. but if you stayed in cover you'll be fine.

I'm not saying that staying in the same place the entire time is good either. be it a game or not. in both cases, if its safe to move, then go. you're free to move.

nobody actually assumed that. we're referring to those people who go around Gun Blazing without using any kind of cover and die immediately.

Really. its based on the survival itself. if it was like Proceeded or Boneyard, then its better to take cover. sure move between cover, but take the closest cover available or you'll get yourself killed really easy. BUT if it was like Sawmill where you're FORCED to go around, then move whatever you want. its called Survival. not "show your Go-Rambo style" or "hide in the same spot all day",

20K is not good. İt should be 40K for that effort.

There are missions like I only kill ten man and collect money bag then deliver it to Madrazzo which gives me 18K. No effort compare Survival mode and give nearly same money.

look dude arent you the one that said anyone who "camps" is "hiding like a pussy" ????? and you seem to be bothered by people referring to your style of play as rambo......lol.look i know that with two or three of my crew we do pretty well in the "camping" play style,so we should all agree to disagree, and if you were to randomly join our game,we will kick you or you can quit out on wave 4,7 or 10 like most of the "runners and gunners" do when they are mystified by the whirlybird flying god thing that shows up and owns them.

So...now I don't know how to shoot a f*cking copter down? Where did that even come from?

Not sure why you put camping in quotes....it's not like it's not camping and I'm just referring as it as such.

And, OF COURSE you "do pretty well" when camping, you should always be winning, but that's not my point. It's easy to camp....it just takes forever and isn't as entertaining.

I do tend to forget that the majority of players only play the game for the cash they receive at the end and not the experience. I'd rather lose and get $5K but have a good time moving around the map then camp behind a trailer for 20-30 minutes for a pathetic payout.

I dunno.  Make survival last infinite rounds.

Just repeat 8-9-10.  Just keep on paying out 4K each additional round your survive.

Though I want a survival that uses Hookers rather than the typical Thugs and cops.  After making capture missions with aggressive hookers that attack its quite entertaining.

  • MVP players
  • Player with the most kills at the end of each round gets $1000
  • Player with the most kills end game gets an extra $20k
  • People who haven't contributed anything get kicked out automatically

That's about all I have so far

Implying that most kills means something in survival...if you get the most kills every round and then die, leaving me to finish, then your most kills means absolutely nothing

Exactly.... the OP is probably 'that guy' who runs around and gets like 11 out of the 20 kills (all easy kills btw) and then dies.... Now I have to finish the round against two helicopters and guys with mini-guns and then then the OP thinks he is better because he had more kills.....

I've got another one: 16-players vs. cops survival using the whole map. Would be epic. Minimum of 8 players.
