Yep, because VCS was originally a PSP only title. And you know how PSPs really are. So there was nothing what R* could do back then..
I know, they had the chance to recreate the textures for the PS2 version.. But no one cared about this anyway because 90% of the PS2 users used CRT TVs.

They practically forgot to do ANYTHING with the East Island, so yeah, to say it was a bit of a rush job when ported to PS2 is an understatement. At least LCS had the generics and particles, etc, double the resolution.

Hey Sal, just a question, but for the mean time, shouldn't you start with Soldier? It is the first mission of the game, after all, and can't you just write a script that tells the game to place the blockers on the bridges? I don't know too much about scripting, but it works something like that, right?

It only adds new anims, IIRC. This wouldn't affect the already implemented anims.

Actually... Soldier or the first mission of VCS is the only mission in the whole game to force the player to swim. So how about adding a temporary script to swim only in that mission? (It may sound like a joke, but really I ain't famiiar with coding/scripting).

Are you using the ped.ifp from VCS that I converted?

 

VCS Animations for VC: (Recommended to use ANIM fix with this, but not needed)

ANIM FIX: (works on any VC launcher)

1. HEx editor
2. drag in a GTA-VC launcher
3. find "FALL_fall"
4. type over the word "fall" with "glide"

5. find "FALL_collapse"
6. type over the word "collapse" with "fall"
7. for the extra letters in collapse, go over to the hex side, make sure you're staring from the "a" in "apse" and type "00" to fill the extra letters. You should see periods replace the letters.
8. Save your EXE and you're good.

Try to import it with old MDL Importer and you'll see.

Hey Sal, are you planning to use TCJF's HQ VCS icons? IIRC, the mobile mod is using them, so maybe you can get permission from him as well.

A few details about VCS Android files:

-A new folder (Just copy it in Android/data)

-A new APK (Anims will be less buggier, so I reccomend to install it)

Now the features of mod:

-New cars (Also BETA Cars too)

-New anims

-New map (Just VCS Map parts in VC - until there will be someone that will hack VC Android limits)

-Also new map textures (XBox or original Android textures instead of the LQ VCS ones, I need to check the original VC Android txt then)

-New radar and icons (radar is still in progress)

-New peds

-New player (player default clothes are still in progress)

-New weapons

-(Maybe) Some VCS missions

-New sounds (Maybe minor sounds in the first release, ones that don't need to edit SFX file, like Miscom and some radios)

-New menu (almost done

 

That's all for now. I will tell you more later, when I update the mod with many other things.

Right now I am updating the menu (Which I forgot to add in list). It will feature the logo by TCJ and other VCS things in HD. I will also update the Menu Sounds when John gives me the files

EDIT: The logo and BG are imported (We still need to edit the BG thought).

New screens (this time by me) will be posted there, from my brand new smartphone, Allview V1 Viper S!
