I am going to start a new game, what are some useful tips in the beginning? For example map exploration, finding weapons, making money outside of missions.

Only do the first Assassin Mission then save all the other ones after you beat the game to MAX your profit.

Greetings Jason, escaped from Rook Island I see!

Have you considered getting the GTAV Brady Guide? I would recommend it as you need not worry about spoilers and it is a fantastic book.

Take it slow, the best cars appear regularly early in the game. That's if cars are your thing. Save the Mob bosses daughter early with Frank, find hidden money and guns under water, defeat the Altruists for a great payout.

If you haven't already, turn off autosave and use plenty of save slots and quick saves in case you want to redo something.

In case of aiming for 100% spread the load out aiming for 100% by the time mission 69 is complete. That way you won't be doing all the supposed boring tasks (golf, parachuting etc) crammed together at the end.
