So as most people have seen, we can't click on banned users' profiles. There was a time we could do this and I was wondering why did this change occur? I didn't see any harm in letting people view a banned user's posts and if someone I knew were to get banned, I would want to be able to view their post history. If it's something related to "it's not your business", I don't agree with that. It is the community's business, sometimes a valued member gets banned and it would be nice to at least let their profile be viewable by everyone.

If you want to read banned member's posts, you just need their user ID found in profile link

For example:
gtaforums dot com/user/755035-wildbrick142/

Then just copy this link and put the ID where it says [ID here]

http://gtaforums.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&mid=[ID here]

It should be something like this:

http://gtaforums.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&mid=755035

Examples of banned members:

Demarest
http://gtaforums.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&mid=32614

gnad.1992
http://gtaforums.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&mid=69055

GTA-King

But how do we find their user ID if we can't access their profiles?

But how do we find their user ID if we can't access their profiles?

  1. Find someone who linked to the banned member's profile in a post, whether by hotlink or member tag. EDIT: Member tag will NOT work if the member has changed name or when attempting to member-tag someone who is already banned. EDIT2: Also, member tags can directly allow you to see their posts. No need for ID's because it will give you that popup thing where you can send a message or find content.
  2. Use Wayback Machine. You could click at profiles in the past
  3. Next to the like button, members who like a post are displayed. If there are banned members, you will be able to click their name.
  4. Check in your notification history. You can click on banned member's profile.
  5. Stalk them and save their profile link (before ban, of course)
  6. Go fully random and type in random ID's

I got Demarest's ID by a link on Cerbera's blog and gnad's & GTA-King's I got from Wayback Machine.

The simplest alternative is to use the search function. Use the following parameters:

Search in section: Forums
Match: all words & Only search in titles if you only want to search for topics created by the user, or Only search in content to search for the posts. You can also choose Search title and content, but the results are dependent on 'Display results', which you can see underneath.
Find author: insert username
Display results: As posts or As a topic list

Just to clarify: if you choose 'Search title and content' in combination with 'As posts' then you will get a list of all posts and topics created by the user; and if you choose 'Search title and content' plus 'As a topic list' then you will see a list of all topics the member has replied to.
