I think he meant "vertical rather than horizontal".

Ah, okay. You're probably right. :)

I think the diamond is meant to be a generic badge/hood ornament/part, some vehicles have them on different angles, and seem to represent hood ornaments, boot handles, badges or to just make a large empty space seem more complete, I doubt that it is to symbolize any specific brand, some of the Beta shots of Vice showed that some vehicles had a pentagon badge on them (which was not on them in the final game, a couple did slip through with it though) and the Police and Taxi had a Ford like badge on the grill like the GTA3 Variants do, but this is just too generic to be anything specific.

What about the Blista Compact?

Edit: If you are suggesting for me to convert it, I already did it quite a while ago back in 2012.

Something not related to the Kuruma Mod, but if you cant resist viewing a spoiler have a look.

Spoiler

Please, no discussion on this spoiler in this topic, I am not sure if I start a new topic for it or not, if you want to say something on it PM me.

But while working on it I thought I might release a demo/beta version of the Kuruma model for people to play with if they are interested in it.

Sure you can do that. Just asking, not that you should do it just in some quick jumps, but are you going to slowly convert ALL the Manhunt vehicles in about few years?

I'll convert all the vehicles I feel deserve to be revived, for example the Admiral appears in Manhunt 2, but the only difference between it and the Vice City version is that in Manhunt the textures have a lower quality, so there would be no point in converting it.

You're right,as you couldn't see anything with the flag on the car.

Anyway, while we are all off topic, here is a render of the front end with some fancy chrome and textures being tested for Lights which I seem happy with.

I know you asked not to comment on this, but this Crown Vic looks great!

About the name, I have no clue what's its actual origin, but for some reason I see it connected to English queens.

LSD Crown Elizabeth anyone? :p

Thanks, I am happy for some comments on it now, when I decided to make it from scratch I already had some plans for it, because there is now an IV Vehicle tool for 3DS I decided to stick with IV naming convention, so Im calling this the Vapid Stanier (Real imaginative.... Not) but seeing as it is supposed to be an old CrownVic and the newer ones are called that in IV/V I figured to continue with the naming. Hopefully it still looks good in VC as I have done a little more detail on this one than normally on those older games, Hopefully I don't start a HQ/HD vehicles mod for Vice City, as much as it would be great to model like OnePiece I dont fancy being the next person to go down that road, but it would be cool to do so.

Sure, naming it Stanier sounds like a good idea too!

Although newer Fords are Crown Victorias and this one was an LTD Crown Victoria, the LSD prefix would still be plausible :p

Nah, As I said, while working on that new car no progress on the Kuruma will be made until I get it to a stage that inspires me to go back and make the damage model on the Kuruma.

Im sure I can always change that If I do decide to go with it, The Front end is all that is fairly complete, the rear just really needs a bumper then Ill show that off, then Ive got the finishing of the mid section to make final changes and decisions, so its still a little off the end.

Maybe name it the Vulture like a car in GTA1? The Stanier should be the civilian cop car/taxi, and not a Premier.

In my opinion, I think that the civilian versions of police vehicles should always become Premiers. But, come to think of it, the police vehicles in both III and SA were Caprices so either the Stanier or Premier would suit this car nicely. :)

But this will be a Cop Car/Taxi for Upstate Liberty should I get started on that, and it is as several other posts have said based on the Crown Vic which is a Stanier in V, and seeing as there is an IV Vehicle Script for 3DS Max now I would really like to try and convert this to IV at some stage so I do want to use the naming convention from those games, and also I don't really want to make another car called the Premier.

Got any ideas on how the paint scheme for the upstate cop cars should be like?

I'm sorry but that Crown Vic-lookalike is SO AWESOME. I thought it was a Holden WB Caprice at first with that grill, but then I went down and saw the rest of the model and realized that it looks more like a baby LTD, based off of the Foxbody platform. I don't know if that's what you were going for, but we have enough full size Vic's, i'm glad we're getting a little Vic.

^I always thought the Kuruma was based on a Dodge Neon like the one my ex had. I get the similarities with the Sebring though. But then again, isn't "Kuruma" a Japanese word? Chryslers American, so I guess the two contradict themselves. Perhaps the Kuruma was made by maibatsu?

And yep, I remember those badges. I don think they're legit based on Chrysler due to the size but they do seem pretty similar. What other cars do they appear on? The only ones that come to mind are the cabbie (as you said), and I believe the sentinel. MAYBE the perennial, but I kinda doubt it.

It does seem to be contradictory, but there have been instances where American marques would release Japanese cars under their own brand. Seems like the Kuruma's an interesting inverse example, if Maibatsu did manufacture the said car.

Well this is one of my reference pictures below I was using simply because it reminded me of the Vice Cop scheme, I have a few pics of that car and would like to make the Lightbar on this vehicle for my Police Version and a possible LVPD version too. But the Paint scheme will probably be varied between versions for difference cities.

Will the upstate LC cop car have the same scheme as the LCPD cars or will it have another one?

Nah I am not too sure on them yet, Im not sure if I want to go with boring black and white or maybe NYPD Blue, or some other style or colour all together.

Perhaps you could use the old paint scheme Roadrunner71 did for "Our Ugly World"? It seemed pretty neat, what with the love for the LCS Police paint being high and all
