So after I join a session today (before freezing, joy) I have the usual twat in a dunce cap blow up the Adder I decided to use for the first time in ages and sure enough I foot the $12k bill. I'm sure he no doubt has many glitched millions on a second character of course.

So 1. Why can't Rockstar just get on and make it one pool of money, including held cash, for all characters?

2. Debt - make players go into debt for any bills they can't pay (and the victim not have to pay - since bad sport indicates Rockstar doesn't like personal vehicles getting blown up anyway). That way the sticky bombers and their like will soon run out of ammo and have no way to replenish it until they've earned their way out of debt. Oh, and make tanks $5k or so to call while you're at it.

That's all.

I don't think they need to go into debt, R* should just include the 2nd characters cash on hand in the process.

That would fix it, and I think R* will make that change at some date

Exactly! We reall need player debt to stop those people from screwing us over. But R* will prob never fix this since this has been in game from day 1.

No, because I would always be in it just like real life.

But if the person can't pay for your insurance there's no reason you should have to.

If they don't have the money to pay for your car, then the game should just sell one of their cars at random to make up the difference. They would think twice about blowing up someones car next time.

Even if they don't wanna put debt in the game, it would be funny if they did something like make an option that the other player has to get in your car and perform sex acts on you like one of the hookers until they "work" it off. Having to watch you character perform 50 consecutive bj's might make someone think twice before blowing up that entity.

The butthurt is real.

I will continue to blow up those ugly Adders and not pay for them.  I refuse to pay for a car I think is hideous.

I would like to see debt in the game, but you know there are some people that have amounted into the negative so much that the only way to go positive would be to buy some cash cards.

I think rockstar should cover the insurance and they start taking a percentage of the money you earn online over time to pay back what you owe. ie. you earn 17k from RR a couple of times to pay off the jester you blew up.

And how about other players get a text message to repossess a car from someone in debt, and drop it off at a warehouse for a cut of the value.

If someone's in debt, the game should troll them. Imagine if you're $200k in debt, the game will take away something from you (for ever!) that's twice the value, so in this case 400k. The butthurt amongst the trolls would be epic! How cool would it be if you're in debt, and suddenly Franklin and Lamar come and repo your car

I think they should just go into negative money, like how you could end up with negative money in San Andreas if you lost too much at the casinos. You'd have thugs attacking you randomly until you worked your way back up to positive cash.

Would stop all the edgy "LOL I blewz it up cuz I canz" kiddies from ruining other people enjoyment.

I actually like that thinking...

How about NPC loan sharks chasing after you at random, smashing your kneecaps, until you pay your debts?

Or that idea about forcing one of their cars to be sold off to cover the costs, would discourage those griefers.

Am I right in thinking that if I create a 2nd character, they share the same bank account as my 1st character?  If this is the case, I don't understand how a player can hide thier cash in their other character.

I thought about this the other day actually. I first time I take my Roosavelt out in a month, and someone blows it up...and only has to pay $344, I guess that's all he had. Sure pissed me off.

I messaged him saying "You owe me 9k, you're f*cked".

Great idea indeed.  The player who has had their car destroyed gets to choose which car(s) to sell until the debt is paid off.  The victim then gets to keep any left-over cash from the sales.  Should they not have enough cars or cars of a high enough value, any money the car exploder makes goes straight to their victim until the debt is paid.  That would probably go a long way to solving the problem.

Debt is kinda a good idea but they would have to make it not possible to buy cash cards otherwise some dick head would end up IRL money trouble

Honestly if player debt was introduced I would make a new account just to see how much debt I could get while keeping my main one debt free.

I did think about that but surely the little ass would turn off console when message came up "which car to sell" none thanks , boom.

Either you'd get them when they come back on-line or it could be done without them as they'd have no say in which of they're vehicles you could take and sell.  Eff them - they're the ones in the wrong, they'd deserve it.

If someone is so determined to troll in a video game and spoil other peoples fun that they spend so much of their own irl money that they end up with problems, its their own stupid fault.

Thing is, most people who are the culprits for these things aren't like that irl. Its easy to hide behind the veil of anonymity that is the internet.

Part 1:  sure enough I foot the $12k bill.

Part 2:  I'm sure he no doubt has many glitched millions on a second character of course.

Part 3:  make tanks $5k or so to call while you're at it.

Part 1: this is known as being "butt hurt." it's part of life in any kind of mmorpg, even GTA. pants-up, big boy.

Part 2: you're absolutely, 100%, guaranteed, positively, with-no-doubt sure he "glitched," eh? I'd like to know how you "know" this. No offense, but this is the comment of someone who's been "butt hurt."

Part 3: The cost will not change the frequency with which players buy and use tanks, it will merely make those players use the tanks more aggressively, to ensure every nickel put into the expense is used to the fullest extent. Well, that will be how I'll view it, anyway. I love listening to the butt hurt society sing their sad song over their mics.

As for a "debt" system, it's been discussed here, at length. I agree to some amount that it could work. I don't think selling your car would be a valuable way to achieve it, but limiting access to vehicles or apartments would be good. Loan sharks would be a great addition to this game and fit in nicely with the entire "shark" theme Rockstar has going.

That's all.

Its easy to hide behind the veil of anonymity that is the internet.

Or when you're 9 years old and your parents just buy you whatever you harass them to buy. Seriously. <sigh>

I've said this hundreds of times, player debt would get rid of this problem and its so simple. Don't understand why it hasn't been implemented.

-$50k+ = Random car repossessed

-100k+ = Thrown in bad sport

I'm afraid that would not solve it.

Some people have completely separate second characters - as in, a separate account entirely under a different Player ID/gamertag - which they have ranked up to sticky bomb level. They keep their stock of bombs/bullets up by selling cars and the occasional mission, but make sure they have no money left when they go blowing up peoples' cars at the impound etc.

I know because I got into a heated conversation with one of these guys.

So the debt idea is a good one - and one which has been mooted before.
