Me and my crew have pretty much given up on the game ; \.

We played for a while, all of us are either 100+ rank or high 90's.  I am on the forums often, just because some new content would definitely light the flame again.  But the wait is getting pretty ridiculous.  I think most of us were expecting this to be a done product from launch, but it seems like we should consider ourselves lucky to get it anything at all.  Then nothing on Easter really rubbed me the wrong way (and their response on their newswire... sorry we don't have any dates available).  Present us with content updates when you have them in working order, ready to release.   I mean, does anyone here really give two sh*ts about capture creator?

I'm not some little punk kid, I'm not gonna kick and scream for content and tell Rockstar I'm going to sue them (jesus).  But I can't say I will ever look at Rockstar the same again after this nonsense.    The fact that they're still pushing cash cards is hilarious.  If that's why this content is delayed, because they're trying to force a business model that was flawed to begin with, then I think even less of them.

Unfortunately, given how long it took to create GTAV, I cannot imagine Rockstar being able create content at the rate that WOW does.

Maybe we should be trying to understand if Elder Scrolls Online can sustain their planned $15/month subscription rate.  A game has to be pretty freaking compelling to get millions of people to put out that kind of dough.

No way was GTA IV better than V, as far as the online game goes.  GTAV is by far the best online GTA game ever...but that's not saying much.  The problem is that Rockstar has the micro-transactions with GTA$.  That ruins the game because it makes Rockstar want to limit the content and the ways of making money.  If this game had tons of fun ways to make money, NOBODY would buy the GTA$.

For that reason, Rockstar really makes the game boring and repetitive...because that forces people to buy GTA$.  Rockstar is very greedy, so they purposefully make the game boring.  The best thing for online gaming is a monthly subscription(as long as the dev team always puts out great content constantly).  I know some people hate the idea of a monthly subscription, but that is the best way for them to make money while also supplying us with endless amounts of new content and new gameplay elements.

The GTA$ severely limits what the dev team will add to the game because anything they add that is fun, exciting, and makes players want to grind...well...it takes away income that Rockstar makes by offering GTA$ for purchase.  Anyone that doesn't see this isn't paying attention and hasn't played many online games with a big world.

GTA$ kills this game and makes it boring..bottom line.  The reason heists aren't out yet is because they will be decent pay that people love to grind because of the fun you will have doing it....what does that do??  It takes away income from GTA$

What this game needs more than anything is the co-op mission creator.  But they won't do that because those will end up being up to 20K for a hard mission...that's too much money and too much fun...so it takes away their gta$ income.

Rockstar is greedy and doesn't know how to make an online game have longevity.  THat's why the player base is dead after less than a year.  I hate World of Warcraft, but there is a reason it's been 10 years or so and the game STILL makes sh*tloads of money.  They have a monthly subscription, but they offset that by having constant and consistent gameplay content added.

That's where you're wrong. SAMP is better than V, even IV was more fun because you didn't have to worry about your stats in Free Mode

If people play by themselves a lot, I can see how fast it can get stale. But if you play with a group of friends and/or crew members it becomes much more enjoyable. Your imagination is the limit in sandbox games. If you have no imagination you're screwed lol. :p

Death match, race, tennis, golf, free roam battles, missions, capture, ...I could go on. The game is what you make of it.

Yeah, if the matchmaking would work proprely on free aim lobbies... I stopped playing for that reason. I'll wait for the next update... Again.

It's a fantastic game, but lately I've been finding other things to do.

My biggest issue is that I feel like I'm spending more time in loading screens and lobbies than actually playing.

As mentioned above, it is a lot more fun with friends though. If my gf is playing on her console, I"ll jump on mine. I just wish we could pair up, and Quick Job the same job. If we host one, we often do not get enough people joining, if we join one sometimes it'll start before the other person can join and sometimes it'll fill up before the other person can join. Trying to find a full deathmatch or capture together often means spending more time in lobbies/load screens than playing.

Rockstar could greatly improve the value and playability and re-playability of GTA0 it they would just set up some kind of an open job browser where players can host one or more jobs and leave them in the queue, for everyone matching the host-selected criteria, which players could browse and add their name to, while everybody is still doing other things (instead of wasting many minutes at the loading screen) and as jobs start to fill to critical mass, the host can start the job with a countdown and it would alert people that the job they potentially want to join is starting in X minutes or X seconds, and then they can join.

It seems like there should be a way to make this work.  I used to browse hundreds of Unreal Tournament sessions, on dialup no less, and it took only tens of seconds to decide what to join, from a list of hundreds of maps and sessions ongoing.  It was a simple list and it could be easily sorted.  It was easy and satisfying and efficient.

Speaking of matchmaking. Yeah, there really needs to be a faster way to get full rooms going. Sucks when you want to play a specific map/mode and then you end up waiting 10 or more minutes for 4 people to join. :whuh: (Not all the time but most of the time anyway)

In free aim you can wait more than an hour without getting enough players to start a deathmatch. Pathetic. Just to show how the matchmaking is poor, you can get invited by someone in a deathmatch, go in quick job, start a deathmatch and not joining anything. If it was that there was no players playing I would say alright, fine. But that's clearly not true because you can leave a session, and search again and don't join the session you were in.

They hyped the creator too much. Games have been doing custom deathmatches and races for ages. Not to mention Capture is nothing new whatsoever. They should have come out with mission creator from the getgo along with heists. Its kinda like they don't have any good ideas. For such a big over successful game. Its become one of the most disappointing games to date. The pace of which they release content and how much is relaesed is downright laughable. With us going gaga over 5 months of play time and only 3 CARS releasing. The moment you reach Rank 120, you think.. Okay, now what. I am Rank 211 and I have no incentive to play whatsoever anymore. They should have had a function for every aesthetic in the game. We wear suits? Okay give us a cool missions to use with that suit with our friends! There is so much potential yet they will lose their core base by year's end if nothing big is released.

Because we are all basically Kingpin God's of War, we want to be able to act as such. And just the fact that the only way to call goons on someone is Mercenaries which is old, expensive, and not much use. It would have been cool to pay gangs to cause havok and just watch, but that didn't happen, it would have been great to plan parties in which players and NPC's could attend and then have a bloody massacre occur but that didn't happen, Hell it would have been awesome to be able to plan things in games that random NPCs would join if other players didn't. In my opinion, if a player set up a meet point of racers with random NPC vehicles to race and see what cool combinations they had, it would have gave more players incentive to join but that didn't happen. More interaction with the world would have made plenty of sense but instead its like we are just avatar's running around and shooting crap with so many "holes" to fall into the map its borderline a broken experience.. I have played I have paid, and I am spent.

P.S. I understand that playing with friends is huge and a large percentage of the fun to be had. But honestly for the amount of potential they pumped in their trailers and such. Its a waste. If that were the case, I would play GTA4. My point is playing with friends only goes so far and if we are relying solely on our friends to have fun then something is wrong with this game.

The free updates are nice and all, but what good are new cars, guns, and clothes when you do the exact same things in them?

I'm hoping we get new missions and not just heists.  Heists will only provide a mild improvement because otherwise we'll just be doing the same missions over and over again.

Overall I'm pleased with what R* has done, but I have like 26 days of gameplay logged and I'm level 231 so nothing is left to unlock at all.

As much as I hate to say it, TESO will most likely end up bombing as well. And not just for the obvious $$$ reason. :/

Tinfoil hat time: The game was intentionally designed to be repetitious so that by the time the next dlc is released, one is in awe of a new item of clothing and a horrible super car accompanied with a useless weapon.

Bring back pool. And the ability to get blind drunk in a bar. Make the drunkeness last for half an hour.

Cops n Robbers would be fun too.

Also allow us to create playlists including ANY MISSIONS. Why oh why on Social Club do you have to manually add missions to your game? And only the sh*tty *Verified stuff? My crew and I would love to explore some of the created levels, but it's such a drag and long-winded process we just can't be bothered.

Add stuff to the map definately. It's crying out for the Casino to open.

But what I miss the most? The one thing I definately want back? That 'whiney screamy' sound the incoming rockets made in IV. Terrifying! :D

I've been relying on the content creator and its million jobs to keep me entertained. There are some very excellent, highly unique and fun creations to be found. It's just the luck of the draw.
Played an awesome obstacle course "race" last night, delicately climbing up a curve of ramps and jumps from one rooftop to the top of the Maze Bank Tower. So many cars fallen to their doom...excellent change of pace, great challenge. I love finding crap like that.

I decided to go back through sp about a month ago, then git back on bf4 for online funz, didn't make a conscious decision to stop playing gta:o or anything, just never feel like playing any more.

I think I will hunt down some of these more unique obstacle courses etc, sounds like a perfect filler to ease the wait for new meaningful content.

You've completely missed my point.  IT'S ABOUT THE LACK OF INTERACTIVITY AND SANDBOX GAMEPLAY OPTIONS WHICH IS KILLING GTAO.

Skyrim was an example of how R* should have considered their approach in how they added quality DLC to the game.

To date, Skyrim has long outlived it's shelf life which Bethesda envisioned. Because of the continuous access the fanbase has for modded content (aka FREE DLC) which has kept the game fresh and interesting.

It's not about the quantity of DLC that you can get as a player, but the QUALITY. This is a concept R* is still struggling with comprehending when it comes to GTAO IMO. The last 2 DLC releases were completely superficial. And if you have the mentality of fanboys like scubadave, you'll repetitively play/use/acquire and buy all the new content in a matter of hours.  Which means you'll end up burning through all the new and superficial content by the end of the same game week.... :facedesk:

...and then end up posting about how much the game sucks and happens to be boring back on here

I'd agree that the DLCs are "superficial" - it was disappointing to see a broken bottle, a few races and a survival for the Beach update. These forums come up with more inspired content than that on a daily basis. Yes, I got bored of the Business Update in about 30 minutes because I already got all the cars and planes, customized, etc. and actually went back to my old ones. Nothing game-changing. Capture helped but that is probably the only real addition to the game. everything else is just more of the same. we'd like to see things like:

smoke screens in races

6TlrlAe.gif

suitcase mini-nukes

QuestionableDifferentDogfish.gif

etc. the list could go on and on.

Alot of people suggesting joining a crew but there's just too many to choose from! Seriously how do you pick which one to choose since we can only join one

You can join up to five crews, however you can only have one of those chosen crews as your active crew. Choose wisely. ;)

The game is what you make it, yes there might be a lack of activities that R* have given us to do, but you can make up your own. What you need to do is join a crew or multiple crews, having friends to play with and the more people the more fun.

People making threats to quit playing are hilarious. You think R* seriously gives a flying cr*p if you boycott the game? There are so many people playing this game still, it won't hurt R* one bit. If you don´t like the game stfu and gtfo. I'm so sick of you ungrateful whining *ss little bast*rds spewing your bullsh*t.

Change things up. I used to do missions all the time but now I'm going after bounties and re-improving my racing skills.

Or you could start another character , and help the more inexperienced players out.

Cheers! I recently took up golf and bounty hunting as well. I've also taken to tactically hunting white dots after I stalk them on my garage TV. I haven't tank griefed in while though, might be about time.

This game is so repetitive. All I find myself doing is driving around seeing what people are up too. Nothing else to explore, no where to enter, lack of customization. Any ideas what I can do? And does anyone else feel this way?

If people were more interested in doing LTS, parachuting, raids, and captures, I would never be bored.
