Project San Andreas

 

Project San Andreas is a map mod for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which introduces new objects to the map. The aim is to make San Andreas a more immersive and realistic map, similar to that of newer games.
 
The mod is currently a work in progress and is currently in Los Santos. The first release is expected to be this Summer. Feel free to leave any feedback/suggestions. If you'd like to join the team, contact me or the old man methodunderg.

Please note, that some mods are used in these screenshots that will not be included in the mod (like BSOR for example)

At this time, we aren't changing anything to do with the gangs themselves.

We might be implementing more Gang Tags around LS, and re-script the rewards. You can see an extra tag in the LAe screenshots.
This feature may, or may not be included in the final release.

Those textures fit good with BSOR. You should make new vegetation there too. Also a ENB :) . Good job and keep up!

An ENB won't be included with the mod. Our main focus right now is to finish Los Santos and get the first version released.

Not sure what you mean. It's the original San Andreas just with more objects on the map + some other things.

You know, I never expected this to actually rise from the ashes again. Good job Jammy and the rest of the group!

Oh, and you know, if you need some textures, and you're not needing those in, like, soon, you might just aswell contact me. Would be fun to actually be part of this again. Buuut don't expect me to get back in scripting. f*ck scripting.


Or maybe yes. I'm not sure. It would indeed be great to see what I could make. But that requires work. And you know what's the word on the streets? I certainly don't.

Currently, as it stands, the LAe section (which includes LAe2) has over 1,100+ objects added. The LAw section (which includes LAw2 and LaWn) has just over 400 objects added.

Looks good. But, correct me If I'm wrong, SA have a limit about how much objects can be shown at once, right? Did you guys found a workaround for this?

You would be correct. SA did have a limit. I'm pretty sure it was flickr.asi that solved this issue that comes with P2DFX.

Also, the bonus scripts that you can get with P2DFX has the binaryipl.cs, and it allows you to spawn in every object in the map.

I think you should add San Fierro Rifa's tags at San Fierro after Whole Los Santos Mapping is completed?

is it possible to use telephone booth? looks nice!

I mean is it possible to make us interact with props?

 

And one more thing : will you retexture the " Old Car Chassiss" ? ( i don't how you guys call it)

R* models were too square-like and doesn't resemble a car

Are you referring to the 'wrecked/destoyed' cars that we have placed?

You know, I was thinking about a mod like this for a while and I was wondering why nobody had attempted it. TJGM and methodunderg, let me say that I wish you all the best for this mod in its upcoming versions and I hope it's a big success! Subtle things like this are the reason I play GTA: SA like I do, these sorts of things never break immersion and I just really like them! I wish I could cooperate with this mod somehow, but I'm kinda new to the map editing/texturing sort of thing but I'm willing to learn because I have always wanted to make things like this in MEd. Good luck with future versions! :lol:

 

EDIT: I've just thought of an idea to add more "realism". You could add more places for parked vehicles to spawn (such as the petrol stations and occasionally on the sides of the road). It's just a thought but I think that'd look awesome.

This won't most likely be possible, since we are planning to make changes in the main.scm, which is pretty much required to adjust mission rewards for example.

We've talked about this, and this will most likely happen. What would adding more objects help if there aren't any more parked cars?
