Hello! Here's an AE86, a car which I think is essential in any sort of driving game, so that's why I'm making one.

I've made the model from scratch in the form of a standard Japanese spec AE86. It will be available in all variants and models.

I'm "nearly" finished the model, and I have made some textures, so the modeling should hopefully be finished soon. Here's some screenshots, which are a little dated as I am in the process of fixing some accuracy issues.

And that's my model. AE86 enthusiasts should notice some inaccurate parts (hint, the taillights) which I am currently fixing.

If you have any questions or comments on this car, please comment below ^_^ I look forward to posting more progress.

Nice! Perhaps a LHD version renamed as "Corolla GT-S" With IV license plate seems like a good idea.

The version I posted is the JDM version, which has RHD and Japanese plates. In time I will probably make the USDM version with LHD and hideous bumpers   Even so, a stock US spec Corolla GT-S would suit the game well, especially for a mid eighties theme :colgate:

^^The US spec Corolla GT-S

Once I have the JDM version working, making the US version should not be that hard, I would just have to adjust the model

Anyways, if you wand any other versions (e.g UKDM, GEDM) made, just post below and I can do them ^_^

I might as well show the accuracy fixing stuff. The taillights were too tall, which i corrected, now I'm just trying to sort out the bumper height and bonnet slope.

Was this made in sketchup? I know source supports sketchup but I'm not too sure about GTA.

Theres nothing cannot be done, check this thread how to convert it to 3ds format. http://forums.devshe...3ds-519710.html

If you can find free version of zmodeler 1, it can import 3ds files.

Yes, I use Sketchup :catloaf:

To get to GTA, I just export as a .dae over to blender, and then into Zmodeler, and export to GTA. I tried it out, and it works well :colgate:

Okay, fixed the accuracy issues, and it looks much better now I think. Hopefully the model does not take much longer, which it almost always does

Here is le progress:

As you can see, all of the chassis/suspension has been modeled. Hopefully, I can animate it nicely in Grand Theft Auto. This car will firstly be going to IV, which has a somewhat basic form of suspension animation. If you have done suspension animation before, I'd be interested to know how you did it, and whether you got all of the parts animated correctly (I suspect that may be difficult)

As far as I know the way the little parts are animated in IV is automated through code and not premade animations. So making sure that the pivot point for each part is correct should be enough for it to move correctly I think...
