Zancudo, please enlighten me as to how setting another GTA game in Liberty City would be a "stupid" move.

Well to be honest, if they do Liberty City this time, the city has to be so detailed, similar to the Division, otherwise it's going to be outright disappointing. There will have to be LOTS of interiors, customization for your cars, stock market maybe, properties/houses, gambling centres/casino, and a countryside should be added, with proper detailed environments.

Maybe it's just part of an update adding LC to GTA Online, and he's voicing a character like a radio host or something. You can't really expect people outside of the company like to have any sort of in depth knowledge about what is what.

There should be a law that all game developers who rehash the same ideas over and over again should have to sell their game for half off. If GTA 6 is in LC, that game needs to be sold at 30 bucks. R* always brags about how inventive they are in terms of open world gaming, yet keep using the same cities. Then to make it worse, some of these lame ass fans worship them so much that they support this kind of stuff. Waiting every 3 or 4 years for cities you've already been to. It's too many "yes-men" and dick suckers in the fanbase, not enough demanding consumers. These guys will bitch and turn their noses up about the idea of a GTA set in Chicago, Texas, Philly, etc but have orgasms and get excited for bum f*ck places like North Yankton. WTF?? Someone explain this to me.

Well GTA IV was supposed to have snow so who knows how the transition would have worked.

Any source ?

Main character: Johnny Klebitz

Takes place in both Liberty City and San Andreas

Story is about the events between GTA Lost and Damned and GTA V.

Would be nice. :)

Oh and I forgot they better get back to the roots of the IV's driving physics, and improve on it.

It probably more "Strories"-type of game than next installment, I think.

I do wonder how many of the people complaining about the idea of another GTA being set in LC have actually been to New York? There's so much both atmospherically and visually that R* either missed out on in IV or could really expand upon. Staten Island and the ferries that go with it, horse drawn carriages and a portrayal of Belvedere Castle in Middle Park (sure they're minor details, but Middle Park felt dead to me in IV.) or a representation of Ellis Island are all things that spring to mind immediately among plenty of other things. The more I think about it, the more I want this to be true.

I can't see how anyone can have a "been there and done it" attitude without giving it some proper thought.

Rockstar should do Vice City + Las Venturas. You start in one city and at some point in the game you travel to the other. After that both cities will be accessible by going to the airport.

Sounds about right for a 2018~2020 game to have two fully-featured big cities.

I love Liberty City. I wouldn't even mind if every GTA took place in LC.

If this is true, we'll probably get a sh*tton of interiors along with a nice countryside (probably. I'm not overhyping my ass).

Edit: Now that I'm reading the thread, the Liberty City expansion for GTA:O seems more likely.

Cant repeat myself enough.

NYC/LC offers so much. Even though we had already 2 main entries with LC, with advanced hardware and tools, it can be so much different. Esoecially when it includes LC state and not just the city.

There was a lot of stuff in IV which I did not like, but LC really felt great. Better than LS in V if you ask me.

Assuming you're not trolling from the excessive name-calling, flaming and general immaturity, have you actually seen the cities in each game iteration? Liberty City in GTA, GTA III and GTA IV are vastly different - they may as well be separate places. Same goes for Los Santos in SA and V. You're acting like they're reusing game assets to half-ass a game, yet...well, you should be able to tell easily from the games themselves.

I like them choosing the same cities because not only do they create a good feeling of those cities specifically, but NYC and LA seem more special compared to others.

Personally, I'd love to see LC with taller/more skyscrapers and a focus on interiors, and density. GTA IV's times square was pitiful with the number of cars/peds at any one time.

I remember reading somewhere Rockstar were kind of reluctant on returning to Vice City so Liberty City is highly likely.

I hope it is LC too though, i want snow and TONS of pedestrians on top of many other things of course.  :colgate:

hey nerds, my dan is Dad Houser and he told me that the Liberty City from IV is gonna be remastered and expanded upon (e.g. they're adding upstate Liberty now) as a standalone expansion to the next(current?)-gen version of GTA Online.  Single player is limited to LC, but in GTAO you can go to the airport to get a ticket to LS.

lol at all the LC hate from some.

There are not many cities that offer as much as NYC.

The city would look different though and most likely there would be a countryside or suburban areas.

I'd actually much prefer Liberty City over Vice City, it has much, much more potential. So here's hoping this turns out to be true.

I prefered VC. (compared to GTA3 LC)

And yes, LC has way more potential. So many corners and little ways and paths.

Make more building accessible and give it a LoD near the one of The Division and it will be awesome.

But ther HAS to be a countryside though.

Exactly. As for countryside, the potential is endless, as opposed to the potential for countryside in Vice City, which is pretty much nil unless they include part of the Caribbean.

VC would have the everglades tho... which would count as countryside florida style...

and dont count out San Fierro's Countryside Potential

Great Comment Bro (although Star Junction-Times Square in IV was great but cmon it was on 512mb i am sure if LC is done again it will be SO evolved than IV's Rendition).

If thats really the case, I hope it contains the SP DLC. A long one with a single protagonist. A new map wont make GTAO much more interessting.

GTAO is boring either way. To change that, they would need to change the whole mission concept and add some interessting activities and mini games.

Poker like in RDR in GTAO would be amazing.

They should add a place like Pittsburgh and surrounding places because we have so much country in Pennsylvania along with a nice city. But thats just me, of course I would want it, I'm from the city itself.

There's no setting I would enjoy more returning for another adventure than to LC.

I have a feeling that R* North is already working on it, I just have a feeling. A very little team as for now though as they will have to focus on story mode DLC first and the PC and next-gen version of GTAV. When that's done they will start with full developement on GTA VI.

I wouldn't necessarily need a countryside in LC, I would rather have a very detailed city with lots of interriors than sth like we got with Los Santos and Blaine County.

One protagonist is what I'd prefer (if the transition time when switching to another character is like zero I wouldn't mind more protagonists, of course the world would have to be big enough so that it actually makes sense) - but overall I prefer one protagonist.

As for the driving physics, GO BACK TO GTA IV and improve on that rather than using GTA V driving physics again.

I would have so much ideas for GTA set in Liberty City again, would be too much to write here though.

Thank god I trust  R* they won't be doing LC anytime soon, just copy and paste it to online. The only thing I agree with you is the driving physics.

I was thinking a San Fierro + Las Venturas cause they are closer to each other.

It would be nice be able to go to two cities again.

You have San Fierro on one side of the map with mountains covering it with a forest then the more inland you go you go into the desert. The draw distance will be less and you will end up in Las Venturas.

I'd definitely play it. How about a 40's LC based on NYC like The Godfather? That would be awesome. I think the dark, gritty, modern day feel should stay unique to IV IMO.

Funnily enough in ways GTA IV's LC has a 70s/80s feel to it IMO.
