GTA V got old after three weeks.

GTA IV is still a blast after at least five years, even though I test drive new police cars around the same roads every day.

Cheers.

V for me got old fast. I'm not interested in multiplayer and feel as though R* has forgotten about us gamers that love GTA for it's single player. Lately I've been playing III, VC and SA on my phone and having a blast.

It's an outdated marketing strategy that needs to be done away with, But as long as PC gamers put up with it and support it, it won't stop.

To be honest it felt old once January came around, though this is coming from someone who was not enjoying the game at all and felt like I was forcing myself to play.

for me it was around Christmas when the hacker/cheater inmates took over the asylum in FM......

haven't played in the last month and a half TBH.  Guess I've finally tired of logging online and getting slapped with a bounty within seconds of my char spawning inside his safe house living room.

Or being punked by R* and their superficial vision for the future of GTAO.  Or the 1E6 other features that have been missing in SP and online to date.  Like the ability to create our own sandbox heists with a mission creator tool.  And more interactive content like restaurant/shop & building interiors.  And owning multiple properties/safe houses.

Anyone who insists the game play of V is superior to SA, VC, GTA III or IV are clearly not true fanboys of this franchise.  Or most likely had yet to be conceived in their momma's womb when these titles came out.

And there is where you go wrong.  You only like Online which is new to GTA.  This franchise got their money from the classic games which didn't have Online.  Online isn't everything, in fact, that is why SP is lacking, due to them focusing, almost obsessing, over Online nonsense...

Late to post on this one. You totally misunderstood me.  I wasn't referring to GTAO. I was referring to the epic SP storyline and character development that R* became so reknown for with GTA 3, VC and particularly SA.

When R* first announced V and then we saw that first trailer, I thought I must have blinked and missed the second coming.  I was naieve enough to believe that V = SA with superior eye candy graphics and realistic vehicle physics that came with IV.  I thought I was going to get all that interactive, non storyline mission content--from clothing/cars customization, to a challenging dating game, to multiple busines/property ownerships, to hidden missions you'd NEVER experience unless you explored the map etc etc.

Then V shipped and I began to lose my faith in R*.  From all the content they descoped from their legacy titles in GTA III to IV.  For the fact they added insult to injury and bitch slapped fanboys by holding back the best content from SP for GTAO.  And especially because I found I was being forced to change my gameplay style (from being a legacy PC gamer who only played heavily modded SP titles) to playing the console. Just so I could get the DLC they refused to include in SP.  And put  Just so I could experience mindless button mashing in the CoD cluster f*ckfest that GTAO has devovled into. All because R* finally sold out to the online gaming industry, and has decided to put the best DLC in their online money maker instead of SP.

But regardles of whether you play SP or GTAO, to date, they've released absolutely nothing on the heists or anything of substance.  Not that it matters, because I haven't played GTAO in over 2 months now. And I doubt if I'm missing anything significant since I quit playing earlier this year.  So in a sense, any respect or emotional attachement to R* as one of the better SP game devs has considerably decreased since the start of this year.  And sadly with it, my divorce from R* is nearly complete.  Which is somewhat depressing. Because even if heists were to come out tomorrow, I doubt I'd ever truly get the gameplay experience I thought I'd be enjoying when V game out. And this is regardless of whether R* decides to add heists (and other new DLC content features) to SP in the future or not.

Just saw the upcomming DLC features over at RGSC. Too bad none of those features are going to make it into SP though. Especially the multiple property feature.  Fail R*. Epic fail.

PkUnzipper, do you think that R* have over many years of making successful games become too arrogant and up themselves? I quite agree with your last paragraph. I stopped playing GTA V single player one month after I started playing  :/ (I don't give two sh*ts about Online TBH).

Cheers.

To me GTA V gets old really quick. Since December I have nearly completed GTA IV's storyline, made it through the middle of San Andreas, replayed both GTA IV's DLCs multiple times and played some GTA III. Still GTA V got boring to replay around the Merryweather heist. It's just missing something...

Already does. That's what lack of SP support does to a game. Wasnt a very extensive game to begin with and now R* wont even heal it. GTAO getting all that love.

Singleplayer, the part that I always enjoyed the most as a classic gta player feels pretty empty after finishing the story. Online gets all the attention and us singleplayer fans are never really heard. Which leads me to playing other games and forget about V

GTA 4 does not feel old for me yet, we are talking about a 7 years old game, GTA 5 is still new.

Probably never. GTA IV and EFLC play better than a lot of 2014+ games, so even they don't feel old, discounting the visuals of its time.

I haven't become bored with it yet. GTA Online drastically improves replayability, because if I do get bored with single player, I can just hop online and have an whole new experience.. and when I get bored with online, I can go back to single player and screw around. Works out quite well.

I'm Currently making an art / stunt vid. And that process has been a lot of fun. Recommended, esp. if you're bored.

It's been my experience that as I advance in age, I need to advance in toys. It's impossible to entertain ourselves for hours on end with sticks and mud anymore, like when we were three. As you grow older games will (at least for the majority) become less entertaining. Gaming doesn't evolve quite as fast as we do.
