That "all cars in class get same performance" in undoable. Not even F1 games can get it right.

Most you can do is give them same power and overall grip, but things like different wheelbase will still make every car handle differently. Anyway "same power" would be nice AS AN OPTION in race lobbies.

Maybe very slight differences. To make the cars competitive in their class. I'm glad that the new cars we got are good for racing and not too good or too bad. Just right. They should have done the same with the Roosevelt.

It wouldn't go as an option in races, just an overall tweak.

I wouldn´t really want all cars in a class to perform the same in free roam or in all races. You lose cool chances for handicap races and in the end crew organized uni-car races would all feel the same. I like every car being different.

Being able to equalize them with a toggle when you wanted could be nice sometimes, it´s a cool idea... but I wouldn´t want it as a permanent change.

Congrats on the OP even if I don´t agree with everything, lots of work and some nice ideas there!

Indeed. Over-tuning is never good. People feel the need that they have to apply everything. On most of my cars I leave certain parts stock, leave them without a spoiler. I have an intruder without the body kit, only the spoiler which looks amazing and I have a Primo with the opposite setting which is only the bodykit and no spoiler and I've been getting lots of compliments for it.

Black window tints are cool, although some cars look descent with light smoke or no tint at all.

White tire smoke - underrated.

Stock lights especially on Classics which are yellow are beautiful.

Lots of cars have spoiler options but they can look really good without them, same goes for any mod to be honest.

I have an intruder on my second character and I will admit there is quite a lot of mods on it I have both the bodykit and spoiler on it, I don't have custom lights on it or a custom horn (I hate custom horns entirely) but I do have limo window tint on it the paint job on it is matte black so it's not some chameleon style pearlescent paint scheme.

Overall I was going for an undercover/FIB agent car so it had to be blacked out and the body kit was to give it that drift car look since it is the best drift car in it's class and I use it in a lot of downhill drift races.

Completely agree with you on white tire smoke there are so many cars I've seen (Most of them supers) that have lime green crew smoke or purple smoke that would've looked so much better with the stock white smoke.

I own a Stinger GT tested custom lights on it changed it back immediately it looked too modern.

The only car that can really pull off every mod is the Penumbra and/or the Elegy but the canards for the Elegy are just too much and ruin it completely.

What are the best possible ways to broadcast and get this around. Next gen will be here within months and that is our best time to get this to R*, If they begin work on this ASAP we could see it around Christmas assuming they put a lot of time and work into it so we get a top quality experience. I want this to come so badly I miss my SA Jester so much, Just like my ZR-350 and my Old Elegy.

What could we do to get this pinned that's about the best start we could get around here.

This needs to be sent to R* by every GTA player, shoved in their faces, put in ads and billboards and finally, put into the game.

Yes. Yes. Yes. All of my yes. We need this, R*. Yes, it'll be very upsetting for you because the Hipster update had no supers either and neither will this, but please do it.

Also, how come the Hipster update was released when this thread was made ages before the thread was made for that?

What do you mean?
A few weeks back, a few days before Hipster DLC, an idea thread was made for it. A few days later, it was a DLC!

Could of been a coincidence or someone who got hold of the leak who wanted it to seem as if his wish came true for bragging rights... Who knows

yes yes yes, we need the Tuner Class so the Penumbra can be with cars of its kind, also, I think we should be able to buy manual and automatic cars

How it could work
ok, so shifting is probably the biggest wonder to it I would suggest the analog sticks to use for shifting
Green for shifting up
Red for shifting down

A quick tap on them would do, as for holding down the right one inverts the camera and holding the left one honks the horn, so just a quick push and you could shift

You would have indicators on your screen to help you shift (for those who are new to it)

I feel like clicking the thumb sticks would feel weird. Dirt 3 had a great system. Hitting A would shift up and X would shift down. For those who use A as the handbrake, it could be moved to B. This layout is extremely easy to use and comfortable.

that could work, they would have to remove the brakes from A(360)/X(PS3) so this could work out

Heres another suggestion. So LSC isn't overcrowded with lots of mods for certain cars why not bring back that tuner shop we loved in San Andreas, Wheel Arch Angels, With this shop brought back they could open one of the motionless/empty buildings and make that part of town a kind of tuner paradise.

It would sell exclusive things that LSC wouldn't have, Things like Neon, Nos (If we get it), Lift kits and lower kits, Chrome wheel paint (Finally), Special widebody kits (Like the Sultan RS kit in GTA:IV) for tuners and many more 'Special' mods.

I was thinking the location could be around East LS near the Industrial area or even at the docks there's a lot of empty warehouses there that could be turned into mod garages.

Plus giving us a specific shop would further influence that street racing feel that Underground 2 had, You take your Sultan to LSC to tint the windows but you want to add Nos and the Widebody kit (From GTA:IV), But you can't get it there so you would have to take it to the actual tuner shop to purchase those parts.

It's a shame that Wheel Arch Angels had to die with San Andreas but R* could still bring it back and this would be the perfect opportunity.

Edit: I chose the Docks specifically because there is lots of twists and turns for drifting and Street X (Sweet memories from Underground 2) style races that people could do as others drive in to equip their cars with special parts. Plus it would make the docks have more purpose than the place you go to get ripped off by Simeon.

And vehicle-restrict it to certain vehicles, simply to cut down on horrible people ruining cars.

(And an option to remove the wide-body from the Feltzer.)

Would it work the way some cars are classed like the way the Sentinel is a Coupe but it's also classed as a sports?

What I'm saying is that if a 'Tuner' class is made would the shop be tuner exclusive or would cars that part into seperate categories be allowed in aswell. For example I'm hoping that if this comes the Prarie (Hyundai Tiburon) is reclassed as a tuner while remaining a compact, Would the prarie be allowed in since it would technically be a tuner but still a compact aswell?

Edit: Yes, Yes and more yes to the option to remove the Feltzer body kit. I don't know how I forgot that I actually own a Feltzer and despise the body kit.

I wouldn't say R* approved the Hipster DLC. It was entirely Rockstar's idea, it just got leaked. Word then spread and R* finally released it.

Given DLC influence (theme-wise) I would say the Business and High Life update might have gotten some influence due to the demand of super cars.

So beside a Tuner DLC, the most wanted DLC themes are a Zombie DLC, Biker DLC and Military DLC and Casino DLC (which was leaked).

As long as we keep letting R* know that we want this, it may as well happen. I can't keep this thread alive myself so anyone participating to help keep it alive helps.

So let's talk DLC's. Anything else you think the playerbase influenced R* to release? (theme-wise, not talking about simple wants/fixes like extra properties, non-contact, tank nerf, mental state etc.)

Makes more sense than my theory. It's just that I heard nothing about the Hipster thing but I saw a thread and days later, it was a DLC.

I think it's pretty clear we want it. It's a popular thread, it's been sent to R*, amazing concept, beautifully explained, great features and items, what is there to dislike?

The ideas here are, IMO, more focused on substance than mere content, which I like. Sure I want a few more game modes and additions to the Creators and little features/changes, but content like this is refreshing and absolutely necessary in my mind. Enough with the Sports. Enough with the Supers. We can revisit those again later after we get a much needed injection of love in other classes of vehicles and themes.

Well if we're talking influences I think the big ones are: The well known "Top speed defines the best car" saying, The demand for modern ultra performance cars, Being a rich big wig and of course holiday themes.

The first three are really what made R* give us the High Life and Business DLC's and along with the fact that a huge part of the online fanbase (Prepubescent immature kids) urges them to give us Supers and high priced stuff, In the end there's not much R* can do than make it. To R* money is money, They don't care where it comes from, who's money it was or if it's considered taking advantage. In the end their game is making them money which allows them to thrive as a company.

I'm positive that the Hipster update was made due to loads of requests from the more tasteful part of the fanbase for either cars from previous GTA's so there would be a bit more nostalgia in the game i.e. the return of the Rhapsody, Blade and Glendale (Despite the Glendale and Blade's makeovers), Or just more Everyday/Standard or old cars like the Warrener or Panto. As for the clothing and other things that weren't as noticed I just think R* included them so they could name it the way they did.

The one DLC I just didn't the point in was the Beach Bum DLC. It had no relevance to the upcoming holiday (Christmas), For god's sake it was the middle of winter, It would've made a lot more sense to give us a skiing/sledging update in which R* would cover the whole map in snow and places like Mt. Chiliad would have skiing and sledging courses set up, It would have had perfect relevance to the time of year and maybe for the christmas dlc they could've added reindeer for a limited time only and they could pulled the sledges. But IMO I just think that someone asked R* if they ever intend to add some beach related content to make that part of the map have more life, I just think that they should've waited until summer to release it instead of giving us it a week before christmas.

OP as much as I love a tuner DLC, i have to disagree with 2 of your points.

1. "Making all vehicles the same in terms of performance"

There is a simpler solution. Just make underpowered cars like penumbra have better accel. or make overpowered cars have slower accel. In other words, keep the individual stats the same and just adjust the acceleration slightly.

2. "NOS wouldnt work".....

Umm yes it would. Imo, it should/would go something like this:

-Each racer gets only 1 shot per race. The duration and power would rely on which type of can you bought. This 1 can will not be refilled so you use it wisely.
- Can only be used with traffic off (because of the "traffic loop" that exists for some racers only, during a race). If R* could fix the traffic loop, then it could be used with traffic on since it would be fair.
- NOS would be disabled for everyone if at least 1 driver doesnt have a NOS modification installed in their custom vehicle OR vice versa (disabled if at least 1 person has a custom car...in other words, all stocks would have NOS)
- You wouldnt be able to activate NOS in very close proximity to the finish line (lets say 10-50 meters for example).

There could be more restrictions for NOS to come, may add a few later. NOS was sort of unbalanced in TBOGT. My version doesnt seem to be. It introduces fairness for all.

Btw, the correct term is nitrous, not NOS. NOS is a brand. Nitrous [Oxide] is the general name for the performance modification. Just left it NOS not to confuse anyone.
